@@Solkard The rager may have already had some stagger on him and the push was enough to knock him over. They're not immune to stagger, just highly resistant. It takes many counts of stagger to stun or knock them. Once you go over the threshold, they'll tumble depending on what you did, and then reset. It's why Ogryn can deal with them relatively easy, because a lot of his gear can apply crazy amounts of stagger. The cleaver uppercut can stagger ragers with just a single hit it's so good.
@@gustafmannerheim9720The damage output is pretty poor without bleed and mobility is non existent. It's a safe weapon but nowhere near the best. Ogryns weapons aren't their strong point but the Mk III cleaver and the new shovel are good.

Handy little tip about psyker sabers, the special attack will stagger them out of their combo most of the time. Handy if it’s 3 or less, but really if there are two of them I’m already shaking.
Headshots with some heavier weapons, or 'ignores stagger reduction' attacks can stagger ragers, and this gives you a place of safer melee to get to work slapping them. Indignatus charged heavies makes them LAUGHABLY easy Faster weapons can sneak in safer hits, and using sprinting heavies between dodges
One of my favourite ways of dealing with berserkers in Vermintide 2 was to have a weapon that was not just high enough stagger to stagger them while not in their combo, but also enough to reach the breakpoint to stagger them while in their combo. I'm guessing from your video that that just isn't viable, at least in that number?
There were definitely more weapons with more stagger capability in vermintide but also having +skaven or +chaos power would enable you to reach stagger breakpoints. The fact no one talks about stagger breakpoints in darktide makes me feel +maniac or +flak damage doesn't effect impact or stagger so your best bet is to try adding impact in the Ogryn or zealot talent trees. Psyker also has alot of stagger options with staffs but vet seems to have the least amount of stagger options apart from the power sword or from crits. Stagger doesn't effect damage output in darktide like it did vermintide.
So, a psyker with a force sword running Deflector blessing coupled with Venting Shriek and Kinetic Deflection perks is the only thing more effective at dealing with a rager patrol, other than a shield Ogryn. Block until Peril is full and stamina is about to break, then trigger Vent. Charge sword special and go to town on knocked down ragers. Quell remaining peril as they get up and repeat. The Catachan swords used to be the way to go, but you're no longer able to parry the double attacks against more than one attacker without taking damage.
This again shows that no amount of clutching can replace good situational awareness. Rager groups are perfect example of something that you just can't easily counter once they get their first hits in. This sort of situation can be easily avoided if people can just stop for a second to get a reading of their surroundings before unga bunga into a horde - which is a disturbingly rare ability nowadays.
I see your rager squad and raise you the Indignatus Crusher. Lights, heavies, charged, everything you do with that thing knocks around every enemy in the game like ragdolls. The only things you can't stagger are bosses.
agree overall, but faster weapons can easily fit in lights in between their attacks. i usually melee ragers, if it's one at a time. for multiple ragers i won't
also Rager attacks cannot trigger On Dodge blessings and abilities. no clue if it's a bug or not, but I've posted about it on the forums, so it's probably a bug. Bulwarks, too, have an issue with On Dodge blessings
Im surprised you said that you wouldnt be able to deal with multiple ragers with the devil claw's parry, if anything ive found that if you have a bunch of ragers attacking you then you can just spam parry and you wreck them. You dont take damage and should 1 shot them if your aiming at their heads and ive not found any downtime on being able to parry. Maybe this has just been a weird quirk of how ive run into ragers or positioning but yeah
There is exactly a 2 second window after you Perry and you do the follow up attack where you can't defend yourself or do anything and you will take damage from melee if three ragers are standing next to each other doing their combo and you perry 1 hit of one of them the others objectively always have to hit you
I would say you can manage 3 maybe four if you use the Deimos in melee. 4 is the most i have solo'd without taking damage in a game but i'm not great at the game. Most of the time i shoot the hell out of them. The only time i don' tis if i have no ammo and need to reload and theres only 1 left.
Coming from Vermintide i tried staggering them but that doesnt seem to be reliable, it also feels like their combos are much longer and they hit you from 5 miles away
Yea, in Vermintide I think after their combo is finished you can push them or hit them to put them in an exhausted state. Darktide ragers on the other hand are something else.
if you have a good stagger weapon you can absolutely stagger them. On ogryn it is especially easy. Vet shout and zealot stun can also stagger them for a short while that gives you an opening.
Look up his video going over the Zealot talent tree. But to summarise: take the crit nodes at the top of the tree, the cooldown reduction on crits near the bottom, take Duellist on the left, avoid Loner Aura, avoid Martyrdom.
I think the rager design is so bad, it goes backwards from vermintide, I do understand they wanted a melee enemy you have to use your range for but only ranged seems so one dimensional. there is some other things, like dodging them doesnt reliably proc successful dodge blessing and feats, which im guessing is on purpose so you cant trade hits with them and get the damage bonus to deal with them efficiently, basically forcing you to only use ranged unless you have devils sword.
If anyone here uses crusher on Zealot, deal with groups of ragers patiently as you can always outrange and stagger many at a time. Not only does H1 have insane reach for a melee attack, but if you charge it with special then use a heavy attack you stagger more ragers effectively in a wide area, long enough to prepare another special heavy attack again to stagger chain them. Same should go for maulers and ogryns too. Doing this leaves one virtually unscathed with good target priority.
Or with Sword and make a parry/special and kill them after they stagger. Ragers aren't that difficult, if you know ho to deal with them. Heavy attack with Knife, dodge back wards, let them finish their combo, heavy attack and few quick attacks.
I find this game's audio dismal. The directional audio is borked, and enemies "sound" cues often just disappear. In particular, I find rangers are nigh unhearable during any form of action. So many times you can get bonked by 3 of them from behind...because most people, even on tier 5 don't tag for shit either to identify mixed hordes.
Might be a problem on your end (not saying it's your fault, just incompatible setup). I am like a dog being trained by Pavlov, instantly dodge at a lot of cues. And yes, some enemies do not make certain sounds, often by design, good or bad. Use the Spidey Sense mod, it helps a lot with visual direction cues if you're struggling.
Directional audio is ok apart from vertical. Occasional a span noise is missed. If you use voice chat with a Bluetooth head phone the voice chat can get down graded to mono. Use spider sense or turn off mic
I wish your character called out patrols like they do in Vermintide
Dont forget, some weapons have a special attack that ignores stagger reduction, especially on the ogryn. Super handy to buy some time
I’ve seen a Psyker a force sword knock them down with the block push somehow. I’ve never been able to pull it off myself.

@@thewizned That's what I'm saying. Don't run it without bleed. I probably should have said even with bleed.
I'm a zealot crusher shill, I walk up to ragers, hit them once with a light attack and watch them do four backflips.
As with most things in Darktide, the solution is the Columnus.
