You got one thing wrong: Orks are somewhat aware of human hierarchy, but not in the way we think. They do think that humies are all the same size so it's problematic, but they have noticed that they sometime use regalia to know who is in charge; more medals or bigger hat = boss. They also noticed while watching commissars that it is traditional for humans to shoot their allies until they agree to their boss decisions, which they can understand.
The fact they waited until the Overlord of that tomb world woke up is hilarious given it makes them somehow so polite. "Hold it boyz! 'ez sleepin'! Letz wait till 'e wakez up, den we krump 'im!"
Imagine how EXTREMELY disappointed the orks would be if they ever reached the God-Emperor. They come in expecting an awesome fight with a giant humie, and the git's already krumped.
By the logic of Ork magic. If the ork believes something hard enough. Then it becomes so. So if the orks warghhhhhhhhed to Tera there would be a hundred foot god emperor humie waiting for them.
@@coronelkittycannonimagine how shocked the humiez would be, at one moment you're just worshipping the god emperor, then the next orks land on your doorstep and your god rises from his grave and grows 100 feet.
@@robertyoung3825wasn’t there something about Ork’s belief in the power of the Emperor that helped him stay alive? Or was that just someone’s headcanon?
And because they've never seen him all this respect comes from giant statues and other pieces of art they've seen. That's one of my favourites points on this video.
The fact that they see us like: "awww look at them, so little and weak, doing all their weird things, at least they try their best at fighting" is kinda wholesome.
@@saber2802there was this one group of humies that were ork slaves den dey were not. But deyz waz orkiest of humies who helped build an ork titan on some planet the necrons were on.
their was a book where a Khorne Demon was summoned into a Demon Engine while Orks were invading a Mechanicus planet. The demon ignored it's mission to fight the Orks for a few interesting reasons. Ork power doesn't come from the Warp which annoys it, they worship their own gods and don't even consider Chaos which made it angry, and finally their Waagh Energy creates an annoying buzzing in his head. Orks are literally demon magnets and not in the typical psyker kind of way. Meanwhile the Orks saw a giant robot dragon and said "I'm gonna smash that into the dirt!"
@@Broomer52 actually I'm pretty sure that orks DO draw power from the warp, but unlike most other species they do it directly. They don't need a patron god to give it to them, they just siphon it directly from the warp and don't give any worship to the 4 chaos gods. I think it's because the krorks were designed to siphon energy from the immaterium at a time when there were no gods in it.
orcs causing nid infestations not just for the fight but to troll humans on those planets is something I didn't expect as a newcomer to this franchise.
Even though Orkz love fighting, it's in their DNA to need to fight, Looting is a close 2nd. But if they find something that provides other endless entertainment, they'll do that too if it doesn't get in the way of fighting and looting. So it makes perfect sense that they will do something just because it's funny.
I remember reading a 40k lore summary/interpretation/speculation once (years and years and years ago) that said something to the effect that Orks are so pure - as an entire race - that they are completely immune to the corrupting influence of the warp. Essentially, there is nothing Chaos can corrupt as they are of such a singular purpose as to nearly be the perfect species. The author further posited that they were created long, long ago as a sort of neutralizing or balancing agent throughout the universe; hence, their near-infallible adaptability to any environment, technology, or situation. I have no idea if any of that is still accurate with the modern lore revamps, but that's kind of beautiful in a cosmic kind of way when you think about it.
As far as I understand (not a WH lore expert) the second part, at least, is accurate - they're essentially a sentient weapon originally created against Necrons in the current lore.
I forget the quote but it was from an eldar historian talking about how orks have the galaxy figured out and understand that if fighting is inevitable you might as well enjoy it and are wiser than eldar and humans in that respect It was not well received
from what i hear the only way to be safe is if they know you will not even put up any fight, from what i hear sometimes they will avoid entire civilian settlements and such for this very reason
Indeed. That is reflected in the Ork language: the word "Grod" means both your nemesis and your best friend. Orks see no difference between the two, so they don't really hate in our sense, they are just excited for a good fight
I mean it is rude. Why beat a dude who is tied and cant even punch you back? Thats not a good fighting etiquitte. A fight must be enjoyable for both side. And preventing your partner from having fun is a dishonorable shitmove.
I think they'd enjoy a good coliseum bit of torture - weird and entirely lopsided pit fights and the like. Prison fights. Etc. And that can definitely be torture. ... But a dark room with a tied up "client" and pliers ain't their style. That just kind of annoyingly screamy and unsportsmanlike. Even perhaps sad if an Orc can feel "sad" - and definitely boring.
Reminds me of a conversation a couple of Orks have in Da Big Dakka when they're invading Commorragh _(it's a long story)._ The Warboss of the whole shebang touches base with his most trusted Painboy _(which says a lot in Ork society, honestly - the Dok literally stitched his head onto a bigger and stronger body when he got mortally wounded although there was every impression that said boss' rival was going to take over the WAAAGH! they were on because he thought his patient would bring them to better fights)_ and the latter got a look at the Drukhari's Maximum Fun dungeons and said that the people running the show here seriously needed their heads examined. Let me condense that a wee bit. An ORK thought that the people they were invading were utterly insane. Although from context I admit it was more due to said Ork being weirded out by the Deldar being so into the concept of hurting someone who can't hurt them back.
I love hearing the various factions talk about each other! One of my favs is that one Eldar philosopher who said that orks thrive where others aren't cuz the other factions ask questions that orks don't care about lmao
I'm gonna butcher this quote. "The Orks crude as we think them to be have transcended such concerns. What is the purpose of life? What comes after death? Humans fear what comes after. We know what comes after. The Orks do not care, because for them, the great questions are already answered. They are profound, yet we dismiss them as simple."
I love the Ork Warboss from the Farsight books who's whole motivation for fighting the Tau is that he got really annoyed by his boys saying the Tau have the best dakka, and became determined to beat them at their own game to prove that the orks are best.
I adore the idea of a love-hate relationship between an Astartes and an Ork in a battle. Space Marine: *DISGUSTING GREENSKIN! DIE! IN THE NAME OF THE EMPEROR I CLEANSE YOUR FILTH FROM THE GALAXY!* OrkBoy: YEAH DAZ MA GUD MAET ROIT DERE. WE BE GETTIN IN DA GUD FOIGHTS ALLDA TOYM. YU DE ONLY 'UMIES DAT KNOW HOWTA FOIGHT ROIGHT PROPPAH, INNIT?
I find it funny bc it is said that the death korps were too grim and depressed, devoid of any strong reaction to death and too stoic to give up that the Orks straight up went and left bc it stopped being fun fighting them
imagine the kicking after telling them those same Scrawnies kicked their asses so hard that they were nothing but manageable pests for 65 million years. Your would go from paste between the floorboards to a hand-made singularity.
There are plenty, mostly people who feel they jump the shark a bit. Lawrence (Spider) from Tabletop Tactics is an example. I kind of agree, especially with the more recent 'ork tech works cos they believe it does' nonsense. I found older Ork lore far more interesting - where the Old Ones had encoded certain technical knowledge in their genes and large enough accumulations of Orks led to that encoded knowledge being expressed. I don't mind that old concept of Orks, I hate the newer one, so I just head-cannon them.
@@samhunter1205 that old lore is still there. Theirs a reason why all Orks know what a guns truck or ship looks like. They have a genetic knowledge about what tech looks like but they don't have deep engineering knowledge. The Imagination Power fills in the gaps in their knowledge. that way they can start building war machines the moment they wake up
Necrons waking up left right and centre slaughtering everything in their wake, Tyrannids encircling the galaxy from all directions looking to feed, Imperium torn asunder decaying like a rotting corpse, Eldar and Dark Eldar fighting off Slaanesh' grasp and fighting against going extinct, Tau barely realising just how big the galaxy is and that they are a drop in the ocean, Chaos fighting over who is in control and tearing shit up in the process...........It's not a fun galaxy to be in, it's very brutal. Then there are the Orkz, having the absolute time of their life.
I swear I actually didn’t realise how strong the orks were, as a Necron collector, I genuinely was like “Eh a couple lychguards could take a squad of da boys” lol
Suggestion for your next video: "what do the tyranids think of the other factions?", and just separate them into the categories of "FOOD" and "NOT FOOD, YUCK".
@@andrewjensen7413 They have an anti-Chaos hive fleet because Warp shenanigans keep stealing perfectly good biomass from their fridge (that is, the galaxy), and they don't appreciate that one bit. Still motivated all but purely by snacks though.
To be fair to Orky intelligence, orks are extremely numerous but have an incredibly high mortality rate. The overwhelming majority of orks you encounter are going to be only a few months to a few years old. If you put a baby's brain into an adult man's body, you see how well they perform. It's not just that orks' brains grow as they get older, but they are also acquiring more experience and tricks. Arguably more of their genetic memory is unlocked too.
My interpretation was that their genetic knowledge is unlocked by the mood around them and from certain triggers. Like the build up of Waaagh will start to make them build gargants and roks.
@@SusCalvin I always thought of it more like the more orks there are the higher chance there are of odd boyz being spawned. So meks and doks and stuff like that, which are like 1/1000 or 1/10,000 sort of deal. But if you have 1 million orks, then you have a few hundred meks, and all those meks combined are able to build a gargant. This would also explain why there are feral orks, their population is kept so small they never advance past that stage.
@@keegobricks9734 That too, more orks on a planet mean a larger industrial base. It's weird and funky exactly when stuff clicks. Orks don't seem able to teach eachother, it's intuitive. Sometimes feral orks haven't grasped the concept of war across the stars. And think the most intense fight is with local megafauna or the Dutchess' bombers.
The one thing that Orks do better than any other faction: they bring fun to the actual tabletop. Ork players are the most chill, fun loving players around. Anyone willing to play such a crazy hit or miss aka it's all up to the dice gods army is never going to get salty after a lost match. And he won't rub salt into your wounds after a landslide win either. => Ork players are simply the best boys at any table.
It’s hard to take things so seriously when half the time your weapons might kill you instead of the opponent, and your “tech” only works because you think it should. They are a blast to play. There were times in 3rd ed where I literally rolled 60 dice and scored 4 wounds.
Awww, dude. As an older brother of 25+ year Warhammer lover (my bro bought all the games, we both loved the whole thing. I introduced him to it via Space Marine / Heroes Quest ) Can I just say- you get it. I hope to play a game this chrstmas of Bloodbowl. And when my Goblin Star Player with the Chainsaw inevitably harms himself with a bad dice roll, I will think of you and wish you all the best with a big smile :)
Quite funny that Orks have a harder time figuring out how Necron tech works than Tau tech given the fact that they have absolutly no idea how any of this works and they just imagine it to work.
For a very simple reason: Tau tech looks more like they expect it to. Who knows what that mysterious tinhead stuff is supposed to do. The ork tech is based on appearance.
I mean People STILL sometimes have difficulty explaining what exactly happens when a Gauss Flayer hits someone, it makes sense that a mekboy has a bit of trouble makin it more killy

I love how Ork think about Tyranids the most (Always give good a fight but kinna annoy later on). And as for Space Marine also very interesting to know that Orks give them so much respect than I thought. Nice video btw
It was either the fifth or sixth edition codex for forces of chaos said that khorne attempted to battle Gork and Mork, but they ignored him because they thought he was so weak.
@@dinkilagemorgoon7774 it was in the Orks codex as a myth (and if they worked together they said they could take him)....They have never meet in any kind of event or non Ork story
Might still be true. There's probably just as many Orks out there as there's people whose emotions power the Chaos Gods in the immaterium. Gork and Mork together are likely just as powerful as the big four combined, and therefore would overpower any single one of them quite easily if they weren't so busy beating the snot out of each other.
@@darthplagueis13 Gork and Mork are not close to the four combined. They are beings who exist when the Orks think about them. The Chaos gods exist with or without humans. The weakest may have been created by the mass death of a species but doesn't need them to still exist. They make plans and fight in the story and talk and gift their follows. Gork and Mork have never done anything. They are like the greater good "thing". A myth given form by a large group of orks. (They have changed the lore and I believe Slannesh now existed before Eldar deaths just got godhood from it)
Orks are the best because no matter what ridiculous scenario you imagine, the Ork answer is: "Yus" Orks trapped on a planet with no-way out, and so one half dress themselves as Imperial Guardsmen and start waging war against themselves just to have something to do? "For tha Empruh!" Orks flying headlong into a sun because someone convinced them that only the Orkiest of Orks could fight a sun? "Absoolottaly!" Orks settle a random planet and become peaceful farmers because they believe the greatest battle is fighting nature itself and the challenge of terraforming/settling a world so it's liveable for their foes and invites future conflict. "OI, DOS POTATOES AIN'T GUNNA DIG DEMSELVES! GIT TO WORK!"
I think the second one really did happen. And the first is possible, but knowing Orks, they would smash broken ships together and it would work for them.
I can imagine the ork dressed as a comissar trying to act like one to a mob of confused grots) "Oi gatherd ye around me, ye lil grots, cuz ya were shoutin "Fur da Meperah!" too quietly, weren't green enaugh, and yer cowards! I sentense ye all to krumpin'! COME HERE YE LITTLE...."
I’m sort of a new fan to this world and lore and must say , your videos have been so helpful with finding my feet with it. Thanks for all the effort you put in dude, well earned sub
Wow, love the video man. Didn't know the Orcs were like this. You are doing a great job narrating, clear and engaging. Subscribed and will check out more of your videos.
You know what would scare orks? Ghosts. You can't punch them, or shoot them, they just float around being annoying. And if you die, you become one, and can't fight anymore. (Assuming ghosts cannot fight each other.) They would drive themselves mad.
You'd have to convince them of all that ahead of time. Otherwise, they'd just stomp them anyway. Their pshycic power would make their weapons work on the ghostsnif they think it'll work.
I mean there’s a pretty funny theory that the only reason the emperor is still “alive” is that the orks believe he is immortal and therefore he literally can’t die.
10:00 I actually remember from a battle report in White Dwarf where the Black Templars, on the hunt for Ghazghkull, got the wrong intel and attacked the base of Andy Chambers' ork army instead. It's WD258 and I have it next to me. What's relevant here is the narrative introduction before the battle. I'll try to only keep the important bits, so I apologize if it's a bit longwinded, but a quick summary of the situation is that there are two boyz, Gaszbak and Blatrog, in a communications tower at a fighta bommer airfield when Gaszbak gets worried that the equipment is broken. *"Oi! Blatrog! Wake up and get over here! Dis one's givin' out dots all over da place!"* *His hugely muscled companion shifted his considerable bulk, the seat screeching under the strain as he swivelled to face the flickering displays. He ambled over to the instrument covered desks, one long claw picking the remains from his latest meal from between his teeth. For a second he stared at the flickering dots as they crawled across the glowing face of the main dial. Gaszbak looked up nervously at the brute's thoughtful scowl, points of light traversing the jagged landscape of his face.* *Suddenly, Blatrog smashed the ball of his bony fist into the side of the machine bank with such force that Gaszbak nearly fell out of his chair. Leaning forward, the larger ork scrutinised the dial for a long moment before turning to face Gaszbak. The readings were still there, and the old ork's face was split into a hideous grin.* *"Gaszbak, it's working alright. We're under attack! Sound da alarms!"* Of course, ork warbands differ so greatly from each other that (even when they're from the same klan) each separate warband might as well be its own unique culture with its own unique customs and rules, so there aren't many things that are true for all of them, but at least in this case, it's not that orks don't have alarms, but rather that to them it's a good thing.
I'd say Humies are their top enemy, as it was Humies that gave them Yarrick who is THE proper Enemy. The loot they can get from them is a plus as they can make it a fun game to see how the Humies deal with whatever the Mek Boyz come up with and loot whatever new thing they made after a scrap
I would *LOVE* a W40k game where you play as orks and a big focus is looting stuff and crafting gear and vehicles are based on what you looted from. Tyranids? Power klaws made from claws and fangs. Imperial guard? Leman Russ loooted tanks and lots of scap for kans and armor. Tau? Plasma stuff.
For real tho, an Ork MMO/ looter shooter would be insane. Not only would you choose who you go after but you would also pick your clan (bad moons- +15% teef renewal rate, evil suns - 15% faster movement) but also your profession. You would be an orky boy for a while, then get to pick whether or not you wanted to be a Nob, Mek, Painboy, or Speed freek.
@@KincaidCalder-vn6bo That sounds amazing! It’s a shame I don’t know how to develop games because I would definitely use that idea. Edit: Also to add to your idea, the more you level up your Ork the bigger he gets. I think that would be a great idea.
It's kinda ironic that the Orks were *literally* made to fight the Necrons but, in modern day, they barely pay them any mind because they're kinda boring.
Alright, ‘ere we go. Gather ‘round, boyz, ‘cause ol’ Gorksmasha’s got somethin’ big ta tell ya. Dis ‘ere’s a tale ‘bout da meanin’ o’ life an’ why all dem humie societies always end up krumpin’ themselves. Listen good, ‘cause dis ‘ere’s da real truth, da Orky truth. See, da meanin’ o’ life, it ain’t about dem fancy words an’ thinkin’ too much. It’s simple, like a good choppa. Life’s about fightin’, winnin’, an’ gettin’ more dakka. We Orks got it right. We know life’s a big ol’ scrap, an’ da strongest comes out on top. Dat’s what Gork an’ Mork teach us, innit? Fight hard, fight smart, an’ keep fightin’ till ya can’t fight no more. Dat’s da Orky way. But den ya got all dem humies, Eldar, an’ other weedy gits. Dey all think too much, always askin’ questions, always pokin’ at stuff wot shouldn’t be poked at. Dey wanna know everythin’, like “What’s out dere in da stars?” or “Why do we exist?” or “What’s da point o’ all dis?” Pah! What’s da point? Da point’s in da end of me choppa, dat’s what! Humies, dey got dis thing called curiosity. It’s like a squig wot keeps bitin’ at dere brains, makin’ ‘em wanna find out more an’ more. But da more dey find out, da more dey realize how much dey don’t know. It drives ‘em mad, makes ‘em do all sorts o’ stupid fings. Like makin’ big machines dey can’t control, or muckin’ about with stuff dat’s best left alone, like warp magic an’ all dat. Take da humies, fer example. Dey got all dere big cities an’ tech, tinkin’ dey’re so clever. But da more dey build, da more problems dey make. Dey keep pushin’ an’ pushin’, wantin’ more power, more knowledge. An’ den, wham! Somethin’ goes wrong. Dere machines go bonkers, dere cities fall apart, an’ dere whole society goes up in smoke. Seen it happen a million times. It’s like dey can’t help it. Dey’re too curious fer dere own good. An’ don’t get me started on da Eldar. Dey thought dey were so clever, too. Dey wanted to know all da secrets o’ da universe. But dere curiosity led ‘em straight to Slaanesh, an’ look wot happened to dem. Now dey’re a dyin’ race, clingin’ to dere craftworlds, always runnin’ from da past dey created. All because dey couldn’t leave well enough alone. An’ why’s dat happen, ya might ask? It’s ‘cause all dese gits are ignorant. Dey don’t know da real truth, da Orky truth. Dey fink dey can control everythin’, dat dey can understand everythin’. But da universe is too big, too wild. It’s like a big squiggly beast wot can’t be tamed. Dey try to cage it, but it always breaks free, an’ when it does, it’s a right proper mess. See, we Orks, we don’t fall fer dat trap. We know da universe is mad an’ wild, an’ we love it fer dat. We don’t try to change it, we just live in it, fight in it, an’ enjoy da ride. We’re curious, sure, but in a different way. We wanna know how to make a bigger boom, how to build a faster trukk, how to smash our enemies better. Dat’s good curiosity. Dat’s useful curiosity. But dese humies an’ Eldar, dey’re always lookin’ fer somethin’ deeper, somethin’ more meanin’ful. Dey don’t realize dere ain’t nothin’ more meanin’ful than a good scrap. Dey’re ignorant of da simple truths. Dey think too much, and in da end, it’s dat thinkin’ wot kills ‘em. Every society, every empire, every big civilization, dey all fall in da end. It’s da way of fings. Dey get too big fer dere boots, too curious, an’ too ignorant. Dey can’t handle da truth dat life’s just a big fight, an’ in da end, it’s da strongest, da smartest, an’ da most cunning wot survive. So, boyz, remember dis: don’t be like dem humies an’ Eldar. Don’t get caught up in all dat thinkin’ an’ questionin’. Keep fightin’, keep winnin’, an’ enjoy da ride. Dat’s da meanin’ o’ life. Dat’s da Orky way. An’ as long as we remember dat, we’ll keep goin’, no matter wot. WAAAGH!!!
Man, this video is both interesting and entertaining. The way you depict ork thinking made the video very funny, but also i depart with a greater understanding of the green man. It explains a lot why most ork klans just nick stuff from "da humies" to convert into their own equipment and vehicles. Da humie loot iz da best loot! PROPER DAKA! I love it XD
This might just be my favourite 40k lore video that I've ever watched since I jumped head first into this fandom a few months ago. Orcs seem like a hoot. Love it.
"The Orks are the pinnacle of creation. For them, the great struggle is won. They have evolved a society which knows no stress or angst. Who are we to judge them? We Eldar who have failed, or the Humans, on the road to ruin in their turn? And why? Because we sought answers to questions that an Ork wouldn't even bother to ask! We see a culture that is strong and despise it as crude." - From Culture vs. Kultur: Thoughts on Orkish Society by Uthan the Perverse, a controversial Eldar philosopher
The Orks are the first thing I learned about 40k, and it’s probably the only thing I’ve ever remembered about 40k. It was the first thing my father told me about 40k, it’s probably the best thing about 40k, and I like it a lot. It’s the thing I wish was in a lot of grimmer RPG’s; something to help you not take things as seriously.

@@darkdawnbringer theirs an Ork that got a head injury that grants him savant levels of philosophical insight for a few short minutes at random and then he goes back to normal not even understanding the words that came out of his mouth. He mused on the fanatical futility of the human struggle in this cold unfeeling universe they have all found themselves. As well as commenting on the rejection of their own humanity the Mechanicus all have and how it will ultimately be their own undoing as a human cannot separate themselves from their own nature regardless of how much surgery they commit on themselves, and that rejection leaves them even more vulnerable as they fight themselves as well as the enemies of man.
There's a channel 'Noman' that has a series of Orks discussing human philosophy like "Orks Discuss Diogenes" has done others, I find them to be quite fun. Check them out

ROFL "They changed the helmet to an ork face straining on the latrine... so we kept the name Beakies." It never occurred to me before that the non beak helm is PERFECT for catching a bullet in that venitlator and channeling it right through your brain stem :D
I just like to point out that orks do change tactics if they live long enough. For example in the waaagh of dakka orks started using more dakka and less chopas against the tau or with the demon killa and his increased use of weirdboys to find and fight demons.
I remember hearing about Orks stumbling into Khornes domain. Orks got absolutely flatlined, but Khorne found it so much fun he revived them and they kept fighting for a while. They’re best buds I like to imagine
You talked about the Orks hating the Eldar, but you missed out a few things that you can actually appreciate. For a start, the red ones go faster. PROPER orky. Also unlike Fishbois and Humies they aren't afraid to get stuck in and get choppy! And of course, you used a picture of a Striking Scorpion (or possibly a SS themed Autarch) to represent them. Scorpions are the MOST orky of all Squishies. First off, they're green, which is the best colour. Also, they are dead choppy, like REALLY choppy. In fact, they are so choppy that even their DAKKA is choppy! And lest we forget they even have dakka ON THEIR FACE! That they use while they get choppy! And if anyone can appreciate that then it'd definitely be an Ork!
my favourite lore bit was orks collecting different space marine chapter helmets, not just as a brag about how many different foes they've killed, but because it looks more colourful on their boss poles. The higher the rank, the harder the fight (and the fancier the helmet)
I never thought about this before but as both Eldar and Orcs are created as weapons against the Necrons by the old ones they should also, at least, be subconsciously driven to support or ignore each other while being drawn to the Necrons as their arch- apex- and natural-enemies.
They were never given any sort of programmed imperative like that. Orkz were essentially a bio warfare weapon intended to fire and forget, then self-replicate and long term harass enemies. They were never intended to develop much of a "culture" or anything, and they werent just used against one type of enemy I suspect. It wouldn't do if your bioweapon decided to up and leave its target because of subliminal programming that made it prefer another target. Instead they just like to fight...... anything. Literally anything. The old ones would probably be shocked that either orks or eldar are still alive all these millions of years later. Their creations outlived them by a fuckin lot.
I think it’s because the old ones didn’t directly create Orks, they created the Krorks who eventually devolved into them. My theory is that during this devolution the Orks lost a good chunk of their original genetic code
Orks are the greatest thing in all of fiction. My favorite is the tale of Tuska Daemon-Killa, who found true happiness on a daemon-world of Khorne. Brings a tear to my eye every time. A tear of joy.
There was this old video about "ork economy" showing that their teeth system is actually pretty fair and functional. As their teeth always grow back, it allows even the lowest orks in hierachy to have access to at least some consistent basic income. Orks are very likeable from many aspects :D
I feel like most of the Ork/Custodes interaction would be around the War of the Beast, as opposed to in the current setting post edict of restraint. And I'd expect da boyz to not really like the goldies because they don't talk much, like the tinnies.
I'd love to know their opinion on the Kroot. I'd imagine they'd respect them; especially Beast Snaggas, as they could probably see some similarity with them
36:35 those look like the equivalent of having Spikez with power armour. The colour just reminds me of Elven or even Dwarven armour from Elder Scrolls Oblivion. I imagine that the Orcs find their battles with Space Marines bittersweet, considering how they respect them too.

They also noticed while watching commissars that it is traditional for humans to shoot their allies until they agree to their boss decisions, which they can understand.

I love the idea that orcs don't like torture and they find it mean and it makes them sick unless it's funny.
I mean it is rude. Why beat a dude who is tied and cant even punch you back? Thats not a good fighting etiquitte. A fight must be enjoyable for both side. And preventing your partner from having fun is a dishonorable shitmove.

Arguably more of their genetic memory is unlocked too.
so what happens if you lock up one of the boys? what will they turn into after a few years?
My interpretation was that their genetic knowledge is unlocked by the mood around them and from certain triggers. Like the build up of Waaagh will start to make them build gargants and roks.

*Suddenly, Blatrog smashed the ball of his bony fist into the side of the machine bank with such force that Gaszbak nearly fell out of his chair. Leaning forward, the larger ork scrutinised the dial for a long moment before turning to face Gaszbak. The readings were still there, and the old ork's face was split into a hideous grin.*
*"Gaszbak, it's working alright. We're under attack! Sound da alarms!"*
Of course, ork warbands differ so greatly from each other that (even when they're from the same klan) each separate warband might as well be its own unique culture with its own unique customs and rules, so there aren't many things that are true for all of them, but at least in this case, it's not that orks don't have alarms, but rather that to them it's a good thing.
i think they have their own version of alarms, they go something like this: ruclips.net/video/kz_vBV8XN4g/видео.html
@@haydenwoodyard3624 yeah, I have self described “good ideas” but can’t code. Love the idea of them getting bigger too.
I'm quite new to the 40k universe and Orks are my entry point because they seemed so fun.
So I loved every minute of this video ❤
Wow this was an amazimg well put together video. Thanks for the lore.
It's kinda ironic that the Orks were *literally* made to fight the Necrons but, in modern day, they barely pay them any mind because they're kinda boring.
So, the Worm Killas are like 40k's version of the Yautja unleashing Xenomorph on a random planet for a hunt?
Actually ya that's a pretty good comparison
@@weshammer Nice. When I heard you mention them doing that I was like hmmmm....this sounds a little familiar lol
The Yautja would probably have a good time in 40k, so many trophies
@@wyattmaniscalco3090 Especially tyranids! You would get a LOT of respect for bringing down one of their rare advanced bioforms!
I thought the same thing!

Oy GimGam, where's the vid ya git.
Howdy git!
Oh fancy meeting ya here. I was just imagining how cool a collab between the two of you would be 😊
@@hizamaruaelon427 i believe it's this part 21:05
Kultur: Thoughts on Orkish Society by Uthan the Perverse, a controversial Eldar philosopher
yeah, he had a great point here. the orks are living their best life. they are the winners in this universe by far.
We need more musings of an Ork philosopher
funnily their are a few like Orkamedis.
"Ork can smash a young humie in tha head, an get a handfull o teeth, but leave tha humie to grow biga and now you got a propa fight and more teeth."
Some ork probaly...
"I Waaagh! therefore I... oh bugger this, I'm gonna go krump something!" -Ork Philosopher
Check them out
Listening to your intro as someone who is barely getting into warhammer lore. I felt like a level 1 wizard listening to an archmage speak.
As a new fan of 40k your videos have been a VERY useful. The orcs from the jump intrigued me but now that I know more I have a newer found appreciation for them. Thank bro keep it up!
ROFL "They changed the helmet to an ork face straining on the latrine... so we kept the name Beakies." It never occurred to me before that the non beak helm is PERFECT for catching a bullet in that venitlator and channeling it right through your brain stem :D
Ev'rybuddy gangsta 'til da warboss starts finkin' more
I just like to point out that orks do change tactics if they live long enough.
This might be my single fav 40k lore video so far. I actually laughed out loud so many times. 😂
14:17 - "A tank looks like a tank!"
Tank: Is named "Sword"
Good thing Orks can't read.
IT IS THE BAAAAANEBLAAAAADE
The fact that this was written by a gardevoir pfp somehow makes it better and certainly more green.
Such an underrated comment.
Face dakka😂🤣😂🤣
Yep, scorpions are orky, but, they rare
A humie ork war is just some mates playing stick ball in the back yard. :)
my favourite lore bit was orks collecting different space marine chapter helmets, not just as a brag about how many different foes they've killed, but because it looks more colourful on their boss poles. The higher the rank, the harder the fight (and the fancier the helmet)
Sisters of Battle! They scream, they charge, they create their own kind of WAAAAAHG psychic field. They are closest humie atempt to emulate Orks.)
I never thought about this before but as both Eldar and Orcs are created as weapons against the Necrons by the old ones
they should also, at least, be subconsciously driven to support or ignore each other while being drawn to the Necrons as their arch- apex- and natural-enemies.
hmm
I can imagine this draw being how they even found any tombs to begin with
"Hmmm
Oi dunno why, but dis all barren like rok lookz good"
I think it’s because the old ones didn’t directly create Orks, they created the Krorks who eventually devolved into them.
Wait...
ORKS HAVE UNIVERSAL BASIC INCOME?
fuckin' millenia ahead of humanity
Best ork thinky vid out there! Lotsa good words and now I knows the right gitz ta look for!
Okay i have never seen that art at 27:58 but holy shit that goes hard. Im finding that image as soon as I get home.
"Dude, why are you angry? We're doing the most fun thing possible, FIGHTING!" ::subscribed because of the jump cut::
as a member of the alpha legion I can confirm that most if not all of us are big ork fans
or is that a lie?
Hydra Dominatus
You are Alpharius
An important thing to mention is that Orkz absolutely LOVE fighting Ogryns. THEY ARE THA BETTAH HUMIES!!!
the worm killas would probably love the orctarius system or whatever it's called
maybe take them to Catachan
I have absolutely been loving the artwork on some of the newer magic sets. I hope you had a awesome time even if you got sick!
Whenever i get depressed or having a cruddy day I just pull up a ork story usually helps bring me a chuckle lol
