i have these wheels and i can say with 100% certainty that these DO NOT work with 5star hubs. you cant connect the two halves. theres about 1/2 inch of space between. but they do work on Evolve hubs. the rest of your thoughts them i pretty much agree with. for AT style Airless wheels they are pretty badass. ive tried a few other Airless AT wheels like the Ecomobile Et 155mm. the omni absolutly dominates in both comfort and grip. i havent seen many people with these wheels. honestly other then myself your review is the only one ive seen with them. people are sleeping on these cause these are a great setup. one of my fav wheels that ive ever tried. great review! ill see you at ESK8CON!
@@mrgee918 yah im running them on my Bro MTB. These are great tires Depending on how you are using them. For me using them for an AT setup is where they shine. Compared to some 6inch pneumies they are just as comfortable and grip just as good. The BKB 6inch are slightly better at both. Slightly. Cant really compare to thane tho. They are for completely different uses. Thane is purly for perfect dry pavement. I love these tires.
I'm just now reading this after revisiting this vid. Firstly, shout out to Mr, Fred for awesome video. Because of this video I bought the 140mm sleeves about the time the vid came out. Secondly, as I've had them for so long, I can say from experience that I've had a love hate situation with them. While they are great at traction on smooth roads and don't kill too much range, careful on loose gravel and bad roads. I took a bad fall at about 25mph with some bad roads(a new pothole that wasnt there before the rain) and have been slowly getting back on since. But that doesn't mean I don't still love these wheels! As a street setup in my opinion there are great. I used them strictly for street and carving and they are EXCELLENT at that. Top speed is good with a good balance, but wobbly if not balanced right. I have the omnigear cruiser drive and Omni H11 hubs coming in soon to slap these sleeves on there and see how it feels. I like the at setups, but am more partial to street setups, so I feel this is a better "in between" than a cloudwheel(although I still love my cloud 120s!). Moral of the story, great tires overall. Good grip, not a range hog, extra care on loose gravel-bad roads.
@@mrgee918 I am currently using the hubs that come stock with the B One Balrog X (my board). I guess they are Evolve style maybe? They work great with the 140's. I bought a set of the nylon hubs from Mboards and they are solid but I didn't have any spacers that fit. all my spacers were too short or too long, although I probably just needed to get the right size spacer and bearing combo. I'm getting the h11 hubs now and can't wait to try those on!
Awesome, thanks for sharing about the grip tape, bookmarked the site as I need some for my backfire hammer soon (and I love the look of the tiger one for my BC2)
I was so excited for the 3mm custom grip tapes, submitted my design and was ready to make the payment only to find out the shipping cost €39.80 for a €45 custom grip tape.
Another awesome review! 56.6mm in width makes it more grippy. And nothing ruins a ride or commute faster than a flat, 140mm is a nice alternative. BTW, this wheel thread only available on Omni store, lol😎. Thanks for sharing the honest and detailed review, keep up the gread job!
Hello! I i will soon buy a new electric skateboard that will replace my old backfire g2 black. I just wondered how it feels to ride an board with AT wheels compared to street wheels and if it is worth it. Where i live the alphalt is pretty good and even if i buy an at board i will probably ride 90% on asphalt. But it seems really nice to have the option to ride on gravel roads as well. But for alphalt riding, is the street wheels nicer or is the AT nicer, and why? (if i buy street it will be zealot x/s2 and if AT it will be tynee explorer) keep up the fantastic work!
I am thinking about upgrading the grip tape on my N1 and S3 do you think thick grip tape on a flexi deck is a bad idea? thinking about upgrading plus getting the thick one for comfort on both boards but dont want to loose that great carvy feel on the S3!
Nice rev bro 🔥 I love the concept and dedication, but I honestly think 40€ for 3mm grip tape is way too much. I will pay a lot to cover my collection 😂
The grip tape looks great . Went to website cost $50 for my board which is fine . But to ship to Melbourne Australia Another $70 to $80 . No thanks its a Shame .
I bought these airless wheels after watching this video and I am very disappointed. First of all,,, the gave me the wrong hubs,,,, second of all,,, one of the bolt holes are too small for the bolts they provided,,,,, third of all,,,, the rubber ripped apart within less than a mile and the hubs I got require like,,, 60 bolts just to hold them together. That wheels are completely garbage and i recommend everyone avoids them. I will never ever buy from omni esk8. I waisted way too much money on these wheels. Please do not buy these wheels.

HI. Question. Are you still riding these? What's your thoughts on them compared to pneumatics and thane. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for sharing. Can I ask, what hubs were you using. Were they metal omni hubs or nylon/ plastic?

💯 🤘🏼🤙🏼
Great video you convinced me on the grip tape!
Great video. How does the Omni 140mm ride compare to the Cloudwheel Rovers?
id say the rovers quality is a little better, but i dont like how tall n narrow the rovers are. so its kinda a wash.
Those Omni sleeves are awesome
💯
You make skateboard go vroom vroom #1 best big boiiiiii
Nice Video, thanks!
How do you compare these Omni 140mm wheels to the Cloudwheels Rovers? Which one is the is the king of Airless AT Wheels? 😁
