YEESS! Love to see some appreciation for Hellripper, James is such a nice guy and his music is insanely good. I just managed to get a singed copy of his first album completing my collection. I've had a few interactions with him on Instagram and he comes across really genuine and down to earth. Great list!

Enforcer - Diamonds and the last Skull Fist. Goes to show her the best of these bands are the only ones that do this. Are there any other bands of the style that have done this?

Hi bryce! I will do my top 10 modern metal bands. I guess you could argue that some of them aren't modern but in the end they are. Because some band formed in 80s but made their best music in the 2000s.
    Tool
    Opeth
    Dream theater
    Symphony x
    Between the burried and me
    Haken
    Meshuggah
    Power trip
    Thankyou scientist
    Primal fear.
So there is alot of diversity in this list because there is some thrash, prog, djent, power metal and some jazz metal/avant garde metal in there. You could say some aren't modern like dream theater they formed in 85 in berkley music college on long island and but they inspired the most people and released their best material during the late 90s and 2000s. But I am not really a big fan of modern modern metal, like bands that formed in last decade from 2010-2021. Because they all sound kind of the same in my opinion. Anyways are you a fan of type o negative? If you dont know them they are known for playing goth metal and for the lead singer peter steele who was over 2 meters tall and had massive guns and a chest circumference of more than 50inches of pure muscle. He was a gentle giant (no pun intended especially if you know the prog band gentle giant) would be cool if I heard your opinion on them.
    rest in peace Peter Steele

I would say number one in my opinion is Hellripper, because his albums are really good And he mainly does It himself so that is a plus.
Since i am more 80s old school metal fan since that time i am not very familiar with new stuff however White Wizzard,Skull Fist, Hitten, Enforcer And of course Hellripper are brilliant
Honorable mentions Attic which are kinda like King Diamond/Mercyful fate, Portrait And this project former Ratt guitarrist made a few years ago with Ken Mary And Dave Ellefson named Knight Fury, they sounded like 80s Fifth Ángel ..shame they only had one álbum
Will check out some of the stuff, the female Black Metal band sounds good

I am asking it because many people say that rock is dead today and the record companies dont want record rock actually. Yeah, Skull Fist are Canadian, so there's gotta be some tongue in cheek stuff goin on. I think they sound like a modern version of Killer Dwarfs, also Canadian, and everyone in the band used the surname Dwarf. The singer Russ Dwarf was a hyperactive dude in his prime, a band Skull Fist heard of for sure. And of course the band Anvil. These guys should have a weekly show or podcast, it would be a barrel of laughs. A light hearted bunch of dudes who always were about having a few laughs.

Skull Fist reminds me of Iron Maiden only the vocalist is very high pitched compared to all 3 IM Singers.

    Horisont
    Honeymoon Disease/Hot Breath
    Black Trip/VOJD
    Kryptos from India
    Blizzard Hunter from Peru
Ambush has been getting a lot of love lately.

Ghost is an amazing band even though they are more on the softer side. They are inspired by classic rock (Like Blue Oyster Cult), doom metal, thrash, and prog. Meliora blew me away!

By modern he meant the last 15 years. Most of the bands you mentioned are already too old
