We need a full length desk setup tour
need to clean up years of filth from this desk but one day i will get to it 🫡
Maybe don't use an Ultrawide and get an external monitor that is 16:9?
What you suggest me learn kmm or flutter in 2024 . I am in third year cs students . Please give your opinion
Love this video style. What did you use to build your laptop stand by any chance? Thanks!
ayee glad you like it haha. planning to do more of this super casual style stuff.
I used this one: amzn.to/3SCqGZ8
Would be great to see a video going over your use of the keyboard and your keymapping I recently just got a split keyboard and I am learning about how to use layers
I have plans to do a keyboard review but if actually just keep it 100% stock. No customizations on my end. Trying to spend less time configuring stuff and spending more time doing work haha
@@YourAverageTechBro ah okay nice nice , good stufd
I've been thinking of ditching my 34" ultrawide as well. I'm trying to decide now between a 27", 32" or even 43" monitor (or tv in the case of the 43"). I'm still undecided of what I will go with but I am happy with the ultrawide for now. I haven't ran into the styling issues that you spoke about in this video. Also, I'd like a video on your keyboard as well. I am using a custom built Corne keyboard (42 keys) and I really like it.
def planning to make a vid about my keyboard in the future!
I was looking for a gaming monitor for my PS5 and ended on the Gigabyte 32" - I use it for daily work as a frontend dev and it's been great. Can recommend a 32"
14 or 16" for your dev work ? specially when you move from your desk to couch....
I've had a few ultrawides in different sizes but didn't like any of them. Either I constantly leaned to the left in my chair because I forgot to constantly position my windows in the middle, or I didn't have enough vertical space. Doing most of my coding on the 14" laptop now and when I really need more space I love using an external 32" 4K monitor.
Wait.. wouldn’t you code something dynamic to calculate the ratio and display appropriately?
In theory yes but sometimes you forget to do so haha
I have 3 monitors and am starting to feel the same way lol
hahahaha idk how you focus w/ 3 monitors that's just so much
Glad he was able to find something that worked for him. I guess I just would have coded on the ultrawide and tested on the laptop screen 🤷♂️
too much neck movement for me lol i like to have everything in my immediate field of vision
I have similar setup as yours (34-inch monitor with my 13 inch Macbook Pro)
I want to replace the monitor with a 10 or 11 inch tablet. It much more portable and productive for me 😅
they also have those portable monitors that are pretty popular these days - pretty nice!
I feel a same way after my external monitor died. Now I only use my M1 MBP 13 inches, tried to seek for a 34 inches curved monitor but I realized it's redundant
Can i get the camera you're not using anymore?
Please
Thank you for the video. It was great to hear the honest opinion from a curved monitor user. I was going to buy a curved monitor and now I'm having second thoughts. This could have been me in few years time 😂
IMO, Yes, multiple screens can be distracting but at the same time can be useful. I'm pretty sure that you would buy that 27 inch monitor soon cuz you'll realize yet again that switching between windows makes you a lot slower and add into the decision fatigue.
Yeah I definitely agree that multiple monitors can be super useful. Maybe in a few months I'll start getting some monitors again, it's a real possibility for sure.
what is the best keyboard for development?
Whichever one you have available on your existing computer lol
The more LEDs, the better
Nuphy is pretty good and affordable. Check it out
thats why i have two different setups one for being productive and for entertainment the distinction has become so clear that i only code on my ultrawide and play games on my other setup.
yeah honestly this is the way to do it
ive worked on just a laptop ever since i went into IT, and thats a few years ago now xD
recently i got a 49" ultrawide and its SO MUCH SPACE
do you ever think it's too much space? that's how i felt lol
@@YourAverageTechBro in the beginning yes, but now with all the monitoring stuff and shells open it’s even to few places to put stuff 😂
I’m totally the opposite, I would need my ultrawide to do some serious work, can’t do it with just laptop monitor, cause I could read some long nasty code without it wrapping to the next line which makes it easier to read for me, and have the app on the side at a glance during development.
Yes, multiple terminals, youtube guide, documentation. Tho 2 monitors should be enoguh
Man I could never do just a laptop for my full setup. The times when I have to (working away from home, feeling lazy) I'm miles less productive and more frustrated when I'm comparing between my SQL and C#, when I'm debugging, inspecting my frontend code, actively working on my frontend code, googling something, etc. I have two 27" 4k monitors at home and it's the perfect setup for everything I need. I can dedicate a full screen to a web page and then the other screen to code, google searches, backend code, whatever else all simultaneously due to the space advantage of 4k.
Can I have the ultrawide
jest wait . within a week the desk 💻 will turn into a garbage bin 🗑️ again

we're 2 weeks in and still looking clean 🫡
@@YourAverageTechBro U R joking 😲
Oh man, the amount of time I had to go back and fix my components because of my ultrawide monitor is insane. You think Id learn by now, right lol.
hahaha it is seriously a never ending battle with an ultra wide 💀
Ultra wide is one end of the extreme laptop only is the other haha.
I'm just swinging on that pendulum from one end to the other constantly lol. Maybe in a few months I'll get an even bigger 49" ultrawide haha
And then down to a 13" laptop lol
@@YourAverageTechBro
Or do 2 external monitors like I did. I have a M1 pro with 2 apple dp multi adapters.
At some point you hit the diminishing returns.
Can you send me the monitor if you are not using the monitor. I am a student, and cannot afford a monitor and do not want my parents buy me that soo pls.
nice one! I wont get rid of my Ultrawide Monitor, but i definitly will consider removing my second Monitor and also removing my laptop stand which that i used my laptop as third monitor.
yeah i'm all about less is more at this point lol
I am having the same feeling.
U are absolutely right, i have two 27 inch monitors and my god, is a video on one and another video on the other screen.. it is FREAKING DISTRACTING..
Thinking about do the same, sell one and just stick with one monitor..
highly recommend going all in 1 - less distractions
I never used monitors until now. I got shiz for it, but I didn't care. If you don't need it, you don't need it. Saves money too.
hiya
hello there friend
bad advice, you can just hack away distraction using pomodoro timer. Its self discipline you need to fix not removing the tool.
You’re right I’m a dumbass sorry
Lol man, im just effin with ya. U do u
