If you hit TAB it will auto-target the nearest enemy, and then you can cycle through nearby enemies by hitting TAB multiple times. Then if you use the numbers corresponding to the abilities instead of clicking on them, you can avoid accidental miss-clicks on friendlies.
I find it better personally to change the keybinds 4 through = to num pad 1 through 9. That way you have a few emergency abilities on 1, 2, and 3 right near where your fingers are on WASD for movement, and then your right hand can easily get to the num pad when you're in combat. Or if you have a gaming mouse you can also bind abilities to the buttons on that.
Also, if you die in a dungeon, always attempt to regroup and avoid enemies as much as you can. Playing the "sorry I'm new" card can also help you get some extra attention from the healer.
Typical party composition is 1 tank, 3 damage dealers (DPS), and 1 healer. The tank can abilities that taunt enemies and draw them to them, but they have high armour to deal with this, so let them do this first, and then the DPS smack whatever the tank pulls, and then the healer keep everyone alive.
Most bosses in dungeons and raids will also have unique mechanics that require you to do certain things during the battle that you'll either have to research ahead of time, or just pay attention to what your party members are doing, or what prompts may be given by friendly NPCs in a dungeon.
Some raids are up to 40 players. They get crazy. You legit have to split up into teams and come up with tactics, regroup on bosses, etc. If you ever raid I also recommend going into your graphics settings and setting a raid profile. There you can make it so when you enter a raid, all graphics settings go to minimum while you're in the raid so you don't lag out too much. As a fellow Aussie, you're gunna need to do this, unless you happen to live at a library or University or somewhere that actually has a good connection.
Oh, also you have different chat channels. That'll take some getting used to. But your party members wouldn't have been able to see what you were saying because it was getting sent to newcomer chat. To speak with your party, you can either prefix a message with /s to change the channel to 'say', which broadcasts your message to any nearby player, or you can prefix your message with /p to change to 'party or instance' channel, which broadcasts your message to all members of your current group. These channels are also colour-coded to help you.
    21:10 Hahahaha
Also where did you get that mount? It looks sick.
What server are you playing on? If you want you can add me and I can help you out sometime. I'm a tailor so I can't help you out with armour, but I can make you a reagent bag. I can also do some enchanting. Or queue dungeons with you if we're on at the same time.
I hope you continue to enjoy WoW. I really hope Blizzard watch videos like this. I feel like they try to do a lot for new players, but they're a bit removed from the real new player experience. Longtime players forget what it was like trying to learn so many new things at once.
Also, you've inspired me to try to fulfill the requirements to be eligible to apply to be a guide for the newcomer system. It'll take me a while, but I think it'll be nice.

It's really fun to watch new players discovering the game! Here are some tips, starting every fight from stealth will be really advantageous, as you can open on the enemy using Shadowstrike which does a lot of damage. Make sure to read your abilities and talents as you get new ones so you don't end up using the same 3 buttons over and over again and gameplay will get more interesting as your progress! You should use Stealth a lot since you're a Subtlety rogue. Also you can click the 2 mouse buttons at the same time to move forward and that frees your left hand to use the keyboard to press your abilities with key 1,2,3,4 and 5 :D

6:20 Wait times for random dungeons with the group finder vary wildly depending on your role. As a Healer you'll get a group more or less instantaniously; as a tank it's usually also just a few moments. As a Damage Dealer it can take a while. The reason for that is simple: There are so much more people playing DDs than tanks or healers. As a rogue you're a DD - that's why it took a while.
As a rule of thumbs in a dungeon - just stay close to your tank (in this case the little Vulpera) and engage the enemies he's fighting.
30:25 Rogues can use a lot more than just daggers - swords, maces, axes and fist weapons are all options. Which weapons should be used depends on your specialization though.

    Two things I'll point out:
    1. It's kind of nice seeing someone, generally, a bit excited to play the game. Once you've been at it for over a decade or two, that excitement tends to fade away. Especially around your 500th Baron Rivendare mount run.
And 2. It's paradoxical that the current version of the game has WAY more stuff to on-board new (like yourself) players in WoW, but it so much worse at actually doing it. I watched some of that "Day9TV" guy streaming the start of the game, and it is straight up baffling how the game guided him into the prison break stuff in BFA without actually explaining ANYTHING about what was going on.

My flying 'duh!' moment was when I had flying, but thought you just aimed up and went forward to get off the ground. Think I discovered by accident that you needed to hit the 'jump' key to actually get off of the ground.
Handy tip for flying long distances: set auto-run to some key in keybinds, then auto-fly onto top of something with steep sides, When you run off, you will be flying *exactly* level. Then just go up/down with the keys for jump / sit.
FYI: you can get xp from exploration by just flying over stuff. Great, chilled-out way to sightsee while leveling. Just be sure to dungeon / quest periodically to keep your gear reasonably in sync with your level.

Re the DH (Demon Hunter) -- Here's a list of all the cool class/spec/race specific things, just off the top of my head:
Druids: besides the instant shape-shifting and invisibility (if not moving), they get "Dreamwalk", a Druid-only portal system that goes to roughly a half-dozen different places. There is also a Druid-only toy that ports them to a random 'nature-y' place.
Demon Hunters: that double-jump + glide thing, plus (Vengence spec) a target 40yd leap that can be used to scale mountains. A long-time WoW Y'Tuber, Asmongold, used it to get to the top of a mountain during beta for BfA.
Warlocks: Two short-range portal spells. One puts a pair of rings up, sending any party member who steps into one to the other (with a cooldown). Also useful for mountaineering. The other is personal only, drops a spot onto ground that can be returned to if within 40 yds. The cool bit is, LoS ignored, so can port through walls or floors.
They also have Eye of Kilrog, a green eyeball that they can fly around to see where something is, without having to risk themselves. If in a no-fly zone, or not have flying themselves yet, it just moves quickly on the ground.
Rogues: Outlaw spec has Grapple which works much like a leap, yanking the rogue to wherever it was targeted to.
Priests: "Mind's Eye" lets them target any living thing -- players, npcs, even insects or birds, and switch their point of view to that. Even cooler, from that point of view, they can target even further things. Not sure what he max 'chained' range is, guessing 100 yds? Also "Mind Control" will let them control an npc or player for a short while. Not entirely safe, as it does count as an attack, and the priest is immobile while controlling a target.
Dark Iron Dwarves: Mole Machine is a portal system similar to what Druids have, only with fewer destinations.
Mechagnomes: (AKA Borgnomes) are their own forge and anvil, and have a pinky finger that doubles as a lockpick.
Vulpera: besides being waay too cute and fuzzy, have Make Camp and Return to Camp, which amount to having a second hearthstone that can be set to any arbitrary outdoors location -- no innkeeper required.
    ........................................
Just in case you wonder why some players have waaay too many alts...

I think we have found the cutest wow player of history! Glad to see new people playing although ive never played Retail even though I play tons of wow have only done classic I wanted to try retail but I was worried there wasnt many players leveling in the open world or to do dungeons with so I never tried. Also just a tip so you spam backstab ability and once you have 5 points( the red balls under your name plat) and then you press Evicerate the more red balls u have the harder Eviserate will hit them for more damage xD hope you enjoy your journey!!

Not sure why you would think people aren't leveling in retail? I go back and forth between classic and retail and people are definitely leveling in retail and the queue times are not bad at all, especially as a tank/healer it is probably instant, as a dps it can vary wildly.

Thanks for these videos, it's very nice to see new player experiencing WoW and enjoying it. :)
Just would like to give small important tip, which will improve your gameplay surely in the long run, especially when you get into harder content.
Try to learn to use your keybinds for most of your important abilities you use all the time in combat. So you could use keyboard for most abilities, and mouse for moving and targeting, leaving clicking the abilities only for more rarely needed skills. Spend some time to go through the abilities, figure out which of them you are using in combat all the time, and sort out the action bars and keybinds in the way it feels good for you. Trust me, it will have major benefit, when you get used to it. Might take some time to learn, but the abilities will stick in your muscle memory.
Also it helps to zoom out more in dungeons, to see what is actually happening around you. I understand that it's nice to see all the graphical details closer in the start, but always can zoom in and out, depending of situation.
    Enjoy your WoW journey! :)

Hello. You have to slowly clean up your command bar & activate the 2 other command bars for the right side. This will clean your command bar & have a better overview on the command bar!
On the right side, all the things that you can't use during the fight come in. You have to take the things out of the bar that you can only use during camouflage.
Outside of combat, preferably in a safe zone, such as a capital or in an inn with a mailbox in front of it, you go into stealth mode. In stealth mode, the command bar for camouflage changes! There you add everything you can use in stealth mode to the command bar of the spellbook (preset key p)!
As a rogue, please remember to always stay from behind or always at the rear of enemy units. Of course, this only works if you are in stealth mode or in a group. They almost don't use the villain's abilities. You have to use the mechanics of the Rogue more in battle! You haven't mastered that yet!
Let yourself be guided by other villains! Wish you a lot of fun and success in the game. Greetings from Germany ;)
PS I've been playing World of Warcraft since 2006. The game was completely translated into German in 2006. That's why I know the old & new things from these areas/worlds etc.

The other class that has wings and cool abilities is Demon Hunter, also I can see you have main skills that come at later levels that you had no clue about, I suggest if you have time to read what the new skills do and put them on the action bar where you can better use them in each situation, like Black Powder which is alternative to Eviscerate, where you can use that in situations where you have many enemies and Eviscerate when you only have 1 or 2

Always have your poisons active, going into a fight be stealthed ( or when not in combat your a rogue haha ) sap a target to stun them ( they will be stunned until they take dmg, you sap someone else or the time limit is reached, if they are in combat already you cant sap them.
Pulling big mobs use slice and dice after you get a few combo points to increase your attack speed.
Kick is used when you see a cast bar pop up on your target ( under the health bar ) to interrupt that cast ( best to try and wait till the cast is almost over so they waste thst time trying to cast ) that should help you out, more to learn but your doing good

For things like that pig where you have to target and interact with something that just *won't* *fckn* *stand* *still*, this works well for me:
Click the macro button, or just type /m to bring up the macro window. Pick whatever name & icon you fancy.
    first line: /tar greased pig
-- or whatever you need. Game searches on partial string, so just /tar greas would work.
You can also type that 'target' command into chat, then hightlight and copy for re-pasting.
    second through ? lines -- /tar whatever(s)
    last line: /cleartarget [dead]
no point targeting something you need to kill if is already dead; if you do, just tack a # char to start of line
Drag macro to a button that is convenient to spam. The 'target' command ignores LoS, and seems to have a range of around 100 yds.
The companion to that macro: is go to the main menu, keybinds section, and set a keyboard key to 'interact with target'.
That is the magic elixir that frees you from having to be super-fast with the mouse to click on something. Target with macro, then interact with keyboard. I came up with that combination while trying to do the fishing daily in Stormwind where you have to grab a bunch of crabs that keep skittering around, down in the canals.

Fun to see someone just playing for fun and exploring and learning the game. Reminds me of when I started playing when I was a child... Sadly you can't do it anymore as the only way of progressing is to be competitive

Eh.... that is semi true, you can casually play the game, I have a character on SoD I mess around with casually while on my mains I push rank in Arena.

This reminds me of the chaos of my first dungeon in 2012 lol. No addon's not understanding that there is dps rotations for my toon. At least they got rid of the need/greed system. I needed on everything not knowing the difference. Wild times lol

Are you equipping the new gear you get? I noticed in your other video you got a piece of gear that was item level 40 for example and because you are level 6 you didn't equip it. Item level is not the required level to equip it that is different. It will tell you on the tool tip the required level you need to be to equip it. For example current endgame item level is over 500 but your character can't reach level 500 if that makes sense

I just hope the game doesn't confuse here from being a broken campaign experience in retail. They need to revamp the new player experience sentiently.

Although you can obtain dragonriding mounts early, you don't get that super-speed dragonriding until level 60+ in the Dragon Isles.

There's a 'secret' entrance to Dalaran (Northrend) Underbelly - fly around until you see an open pipe with a plank poking out. Fly in, look around! Fish the water there -- Magic Eater fish can temp turn you into either a Tuskarr (walrus folk) which boosts your fishing skill, or something else. I'll leave the 'something' for you to discover. Note that you can still fish while in that form. Just don't leave Dalaran while like that!

The reason you could already fly was because at level 30, you get it unlocked automatically. Some things get unlocked as you Leben and It can be easy to miss. It wasn't always like this and used to cost lots of gold but it's a good thing. Also, you should deffo have your camera zoomed all the way most of the time, so you can see everything that's happening and the area around you. As an mmo, it's quite difficult to see everything you need to when it's zoomed in.

I consider a mount to be part of a proper transmog. A Paladin of the Light should be on something shiny; a sneaky rogue, not so much.

As a rogue (DPS melee class), attack your target from behind. They cannot parry you if you’re poking them in the back.

Being a month old video you might know this now. Use your mouse wheel to zoom all the way out so you see more of the area. This will allow you to see bad stuff on the ground so you can move out of it and take less damage.

I think you already have dragon riding. You need to open your spell book and go to general and click switch flying or something then drag then you can drag the flying abilities to your action bar

  • @vuurwater6784
    @vuurwater6784 5 месяцев назад +1

Ok I really had to smile right there. I see you spamming the wrong buttons. First of all, rogue is the hardest class to learn. Pick a Paladin or something. The second thing I like to mention is that there are 2 kinds of moves. Some moves generate energy and you have moves that spend that energy. In the dungeon, you only pressed spenders without building energy, which is something that doesn't work. The third step is that you learn to use keys instead of using your mouse. It will make you a lot faster in the long run. Gl and hf learning WoW. ✌
