Hey guys,
Plane spotting at its best. Last weekend the pilots had the chance to show their skills while Germany was hit by the first real storm/hurricane (Eberhard and Franz) in 2019. Wind gust up to 60 knots from westerly direction. This ended up in some extreme landings and several crazy go arounds.

Great video! It seemed like the non winglet aircraft had an easier time in the crosswind. Saw a couple of three point landings! Kudos to the Chinese and Japanese crews that flew all night then had to deal with that. Also to the crews that initiated an early go around. Always an ego buster if five planes in front of you landed and you have to go around. No shame in that.
Majestic landing by Maharaja and all other planes. This would have definitely boosted the morale and confidence of all the talented pilots. 👏👍
It is by seeing images like this, that my admiration and respect for these incredible PILOTS, only increases! Beautiful images.

A special double ovation for the two Lufthansa that had to abort their landings when they were only feet off the deck! OMG! To take the plane from landing speed to having to push it back up, an amazing piece of flying.

I love to see a go around, professionals in action.
On a flight into Maui I was in a left side window seat, over the wing. Coming in I was looking right down the runway. Last second, the pilot snaps her around and lands smooth as silk.
These were Hawaiian airlines pilots and they flew Island to island. Not sure if they still are, but 30 years ago, they were used more like buses, up and down, island to island all day long.
I complimented the captain on his flying skill, and he said, no big deal, we get to practice cross wind landings all the time.
That Air China 777 landing @12:19 tho ... Jeez

Storm can be terrifying for some people but for spotters, it's a show place where a great actions can be seen. Excellent footage👍✅
This is gotta be one of my favorite spot. Great view of the runway and the approaching plane.
Once they landed, you get to see a full display of the plane again, taxiing in front of you in full experience.
Great spot not just for camera, but for people themselves to really see the plane.
Nice touch to actually show an example of that wind speed and strength before showing landings, creates perspective.
Leave it to Japan air lines " Banzai , here we go folks I'm gonna land in this damn wind....Banzai !!!!!".

The A340 is the best looking of all Airbuses, with its neatly aligned 4 engines.
I always find it interesting how small the engines of the A300 are compared to the aircraft.

Eric Liu -What a laugh. ALL airlines mostly have marvelously smooth landings. It is when the landing goes bad that the Pilot's test really begins, and Air China is no better than anyone else.
Funny thing is if you look in the side windows as it taxis past the camera back to the gate you can see everyone already getting up out of their seats to get their bags!
flying western built jets LOL wait until they steal and try to duplicate...that'll be your smooth landing!
@@johncrazy8756 it’s pretty fair that all flying either air bus or Boeing, but pilots performance differentiate, you must admit, Chinese pilots performed better.
@@cloudfannotthatcloud8306The Chinese 787 was butter smooth in dodgy conditions. It was impressive. No denying it. And the 777, just perfection. I think Eric was correct. If you had to mark the they get 10/10.
That Lufthansa A-321 that lifted the right rear @ 03:44 after touch is insane!! I bet that pilot had to check his shorts after that? Awesome "bird" spotting!

I’m glad your title didn’t insult the pilots like a lot of videos do. They’ll say TERRIBLE LANDINGS when in reality it’s a heavy crosswind where the pilots are using high skill levels to land the plane safely.

Oh my God, I can't only imagine the passengers white knuckling those arm rests while they attempt landing only to have a go around. Also, the Air China and JAL pilots are kicking ass!!!

I think that was done in porpose
Yes, they come in at a higher speed, and basically fly onto the runway. What they are trying to do is put all the landing gear on the runway at the same time, for better control. So there is no flare.
Happened at 3:45 too
@@beaubritton4362 it is dangerous to land on all three at same time. These aircraft are designed to always have initial touchdown on main gears first.
Amazing landings by the Japanese carriers. Some of the Lufthansa Shorthaul pilots didn’t even try to land 🤣 just did a go around. Bravo to all the flight crew
