We were in Amsterdam during the storm in August. It was a crazy weather: Strong rain, hard wind, but also sometimes blue sky or darkest clouds. You will find crazy landings but also great pilot skills regarding crosswind landings.
The landings sometimes looks stange, but the pilots need to put the nose into the wind as long as they can. In aviation, a crosswind landing is a landing maneuver in which a significant component of the prevailing wind is perpendicular to the runway center line.
In crosswind situations the aircraft will drift laterally as it approaches the runway. This drift poses significant safety issues because safe operation of the undercarriage requires the body and track of the aircraft to be aligned with the runway at touch down.
Boeing released some guidelines for a crosswind landing. Its about "Crab", "Sideslip", and "Forward slip".

OUTSTANDING! The best crosswind landing video I have ever seen. The fact that in addition to airline, aircraft type, registration number and originating city, you also went even further to give the flying time AND the country the airline was from (I.e. Corredon). I learned that the world isn’t really that enormous if you fly! Congratulations for raising the bar in quality and content.

What day was this filmed? I flew with the TK 1952 on 11.08 but it wasnt windy that day.

OMG, that first one with the 747! I love the airplane and I knew the wings were flexible somewhat but I have NEVER seen anything like that, and I used to live under the flightpath for Seattle-Tacoma Airport. Dayum!

I would like to thank you for posting these videos, and even more so for the work you put into them with identifying the plane, the model, where it came, from the flight time. I really appreciate that. I have no ties to the aviation industry personally, however I'm just in awe like a 12 year old child watching these man-made machines fly and land in these extreme conditions I can't stop watching. Trains and ships are cool but the planes I'm just in awe. So I appreciate you and your work you do for this.

I'm always amazed at how a pilot can fight a crosswind until the bitter end.....and then straighten it out at the last second to put it down on or near the center stripe. Consummate professionals. I trust these folks more than anyone.
