I love your level of integrity when dealing with clients. You could have easily just installed starter locs and took her money which is what many stylists would have done. As an emerging stylist, it's so refreshing for me to see because the health of my clients hair/scalp is most important. Thank you for being one of the few examples and I can't wait to share my growth as a natural hair stylist with you! 💖

This was a great reminder to stand your ground when you go to a "professional hair stylist". A lot of these stylists don't use the right products and they don't know their craft. And you can't ask no damn questions without them getting offended. I've left too many chairs unsatisfied after paying my hard earned coins, praying that i would have some edges left. I've put my hair in the hands of stylists who turned out not to know a thing about natural hair. No more! Thanks for this information Damian. Especially for that tip about trimming. Never realized that combing out trick. Can't wait to take these braids out and give my hair some TLC. Pray for my edges y'all. I will definitely be coming to you if I decide to start my locs.

OMG thank you so much, I am right where that first client is with wanting to start my locks and have been to see several people about getting locks started and never received this type of information. One lady even told me that she would recommend that I get interlocks that would cost $700.00 because she was not comfortable palm rolling my hair because it is too long and she would have to cut off 6 inches. So thank you so much for your explanation, you have just saved me a lot of time heartache and money, I will be doing just like you said to achieve healthy scalp then worry about locks at a later date. I love the fact that you talk to your customers and let them know what you are doing and trying to find out what the customer has been doing with their hair. It was touching to hear you say that you were not charging her for giving her a wash and condition. Because you are showing that you are a concerned stylist. I love your videos, even though I am not trying to have locs. I am natural. I have been natural since '13. I am scared to perm my hair. Due to the last time I permed it I knew that it was damaged (over-processed). Another reason is because I am on a lot meds. I do have a head full of hair, but it is crazy. I just love the way you care about what your client put in their hair. You educate them,.However, I do have a question what should we used on our to start a comb coil for a person who’s thinking about getting them?

Damian I love your teachings. You're a blessing. I'm studying everything before i attend school next month to become a natural hairstylist. I care about others and I love the way that you care. Our hair is our crown and I love that you take pride in that vs taking ppls money because they came to you. Love it.
