😂😂😂😂
Life Masterz hahahahaha
Cactus Flower idk, with the quality of remote learning right now.😂😂😂
I just love how passionate you are about hair. That is a rare thing these days.
@DAMIAN WALTER how often should I use a cleansing shampoo. I wash my hair every Sunday. Never use a cleansing shampoo before. Only a moisture shampoo then a moisturizer condition. By the way it's on nature hair.
BigAl Best he did say in another video. A Clarifying Shampoo followed by a moisturizing Shampoo followed by a stimulating conditioner.. you can buy it off his website i thinks.. Designer Essential is its name brand 😁
Many hate us yet THEY ALL WANNA BE US!!!! From our hair to the swagger we have
LovelyLady Carter ain't that the truth
LovelyLady Carter Ta Roooo
Yes , tell us we are ugly till they can copy like plastic surgery he’ll asian now put glue in there hair twist thing comb it out to make it look like 4c hair
The sound effects made me LOL
Great video! I have to throw out the entire bathroom cabinet and start over.
I am AMAZED that this video was even necessary. 20+ years since natural hair started blowing up again and folks still haven't figured this stuff out? I have used some of those products and in EVERY CASE they just sat there (like on the refrigerator!) and caused buildup. Seems like people are still stuck on outcome rather than longevity, like you said. Going for shortcuts and quick fixes almost never works out in the long run. Thank you for all you continue to do!
lol. Such a ranter, but so true. I've never used any of these products thank goodness. Too funny yet all of this is so serious at the same time. So passionate about it all. Love to see it!
please come to memphis these natural hair care folk don't know what they're doing!! I need you!
I appreciate Damian explaining why these products are not good for the hair. We need more information like this!
DAMIAN, YOU ARE SO KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT NOT JUST LOCS, BUT HAIR ITSELF AND I LOVE THAT. I ALSO LOVE HOW YOU KEEP THINGS UPFRONT, 100 AND ON POINT. PLEASE TAKE A TRIP TO CHICAGO AND POST VIDEOS IF AND WHEN YOU CAN COME. IF NOT, ILL HAVE TO VISIT HOUSTON TO HAVE THE PLEASURE OF SITTING IN YOUR STYLING CHAIR. THANKS FOR THE FRESH VIDEOS AND KEEP THEM COMING!!! :-) LOVE YOU DAMIAN!!! SMOOCHES!!!
Damian u must come to AZ! We started my son's locs when he was 2 years old he will be 5 on November 22nd. My niece started them with gel they were beautiful. Now I've been talking him to salons and the ladies r using shea butter and build up is showing. These salons out act like they don't know what I'm taking about when I ask about the brown areas in my son's locs after they just give him one wash. My son has black hair! I had a stroke in 2011 and I don't use my left hand if I could I would take care of it myself. I sure wish I lived close to u. I see your you tube post and you truly care.
Thank you for taking the time to inform us. Knowledge is power.
Damien, this video was very educational but so hilarious with the sound effects . Keep up the great work educating our black hair community. Knowledge is power
Love Damian. Hilarious but with spoken truth and passion.
Yes! You better preach and teach this morning!
im so glad you included shea butter! when i first went natural, i tried shea butter and shea-based EXPENSIVE products and my hair HATED it so of course i stopped using it. i thought my hair was just 'weird' lol
hfb the funny thing is, shea butter is only used for skin not hair. I'm african, and growing up we never used that on our hair.
hfb for real tho, especially since they can't even tell the difference between the raw one and the one that's mixed. but honestly the only I blame for this is naptural85 for this! I mean I love her channel but she really be putting things in her hair that should not be in hair.
***** i say i cant blame any youtuber bc they just tell you what they do for themselves. ppl just follow the advice they feel like following, and this was especially at the beginning of the movement when we didn't have too many stylists telling the proper information on what to do with natural hair. at this time we were just 'going for what we know', but now it's time out for the bs lol like Damian said, there is no excuses now!
African Shea butter loves my hair lol
Yeah, Shea is not good for hair. You should only use oils and butters that can penetrate the cuticle not coat it. It adds weight and attracts dirt.
I damn near fell out the bed when I heard Mimi in her Asian lady voice "dats why you don't have boyfriend" 😂😂😂😂😂
haaaa
Get us educated my guy, in Damian we trust
This video is everything! Every one who I asked what they put in their locs said the same thing: that damn lime shit. One person even told me to put honey😳😳 on my hair so it can loc uhh no I'll wait five years for my hair to loc before I put some sticky ass honey in my head. The shop I used to go to put damn eco styling gel and edge control😳 on my hair man fuck that I do my own research and do my own hair and I lovvveee it💁🏽 plus it helps me learn my own hair and scalp
Shonta' Sweetie someone told me the same thing. i wish i would put honey in my hair.
Shonta' Sweetie hi. what do you use to twist your hair please😗
Thanks for the teachings. I have been to three different people and I didn't bring my own products and the first two used products that I know are damaging (honey based, jamaica mango lime) because of you. Now I come with my own products. I just tell them I have sensitive skin which I do and this is what works for me. Design Essentials and Taliah Waajid all the way.
I've been using Aloe Vera Gel and it's been great! And it's cheaper than all the gels out there. 🙂
I love your passion for our hair and your encouragement to love ourselves. I hope to get my locks done by you soon.
I don't have locks but I started using products with few to no ingredients. Olive oil, water and even blue magic caster oil (if I need hold) . I take vitamins and wash my hair often & my hair grows like wild fire. I have 4A to 4C type. This is good advice. Fewest ingredients seems better for me.
thank you for keeping it 100%! Stop letting these uneducated stylists do your hair people!!
I'm trying to get to you babe!!! OMG smh the things you know, and the passion you have for hair TURNS ME ON!!!! OMG I adore you!
LovelyLady Carter wtf😂😂
LyricallyLoved Lmao
It's paint thinner in hicks edge control which is toxic and can later effect your liver
BlackHairandSkinCare nooooo... say it ain't so! 😫😫😫😫 are u sure it"s Hick's???
Abbi Williams I'm positive. I've been doing research. Looking for a replacement now like Mielle organics. They have organic edge control I believe.
BlackHairandSkinCare WOW... Thank you for replying and the info! I was telling one of my sisterfriends yesterday, but I couldn't remember where this post was.
No problem hun, I will be making a video on it soon so make sure you subscribe
Mr. Walter....what products do you recommend in the retail world? I'm not big on going to salons and can't really afford to do that. Suggestions please
I love your Channel because you keep it 100 and you educate us. I really wish your were in DC because I love your work
I'm such a fan. Been following you & your logic for years! I catch all the seeds you drop lol... please don't stop.
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 Standing ovation from a person who waisted my money and attended the natural hair care classes and graduated. I learned more on my own which I should have trusted myself from the jump. Amen.
Nice video Damian....thanks for the subtle yet timely positive strokes at the end. One love.
His videos are beyond informative
could you do a video on products such as; do gro, wild gro, and hair fertilizers.
Amanda Mitchell good idea ...that stuff is petroleum-based...it clogs the pores...I hate them... you might as well use Blue Magic Vaseline= gasoline
Of the two videos my daughter introduced me to of you I must say, that you have given me and my locs life! Back to what I wasc'otiginally' doing in the first place. Hallelujah!
I JUST HIT MY 1 YEAR MARK LAST WEEK.... BIG UP! I DID A 1 YEAR LOC UPDATE CLIP, IT'S UP NOW.
BrandonLamarMusic congratulations bro! you made it!!
Boss Locs ayyyy.... turn up lol. thanks alot.
Whew! Made it through the list without having to dodge with a product I now use (although I did have to drop the shea butter products - sniffle). Great info here, and as always, very entertaining, too!
Windsingerful what works for you works for you lol
Damian you are Awesome ..... just love you my brother ... The bible says if you lack wisdom , just ask .. you got a lot off WISDOM .. God richly blessed you . As every thing you touches turn to gold ..
OK, D - "out of a 'beez' behind"!!! In my office LOL!!! :). Great info - thanks much!!!
thank you so much for taking the time to educate and share. we appreciate you
I just love this man. Don't even know him 😍😍😍😍😍
I've learned so much about my locs from your videos.
damian, can u be specific on what oils u put in ur lock n curl and why it is blue? man, keep doing what u are doing.
what!?!?! you didn't know about that brown gel!!! It's been taking edges for decades now!
Mysasser1 lol Truth
TCDubbBeats facts
Keeping it real with a side of comedy/laughter in that order. €:-)
Lmao. This video had me crackin' up. I feel you though. Any products that I use now are thoroughly washed out within 24 hours. You're so right, LESS is MORE!
Those locks at the end of the video are so, so beautiful. I'm really thinking about beginning my own dreadlock journey - I'm 19, in my last semester at my two year school, and my hair is a few years post-relaxer. It's the perfect time! I'm going to share your advice with my hairstylist when I go in to discuss the game plan. You're right Damian, focusing on the FOUNDATION is super important on this journey. Why not try!!! Thank you, please let me know if you're ever in Philadelphia!
So true this journey is expensive cause you are trying to know what you can use.
I've seen people use honey to roll cigars but never hair. I get my giggles. Thank you Damian.
I love the information your putting out,I never been to Houston I live in Killeen tx,I'm coming to get my hair locked i love it,its a start to encouraging and supporting and working together.
I love your videos! while you are super funny, you also tell the whole truth!!!! You got the keys lol

Greatness in this Message truelly received in Australia.. omg.. you are truelly
The LockFroHair Master!!! Thank you soo much x
Yes im a black Islander have gone back naturaaal.. Finally ive found a black man who knows how the hair works as a functioning growing organ. I guess ive been watching too many youtube vids on DIYS. I have been watching your videos and learnt from epidermis to follice etc etc.. how our hair grows .. How to clean nd maintain healthy strong hair.. Thank the black God you dont use that 4abc crap! i just know my hair is thick afro and i want no breakage. Period!!! Backs 2 basics for me.. Going to refer all my family members to your youtube channel. And now i can use castor oil for my skin HAHAHAHAH x
This was a wonderful video. I think you're right if we take care of our hair they won't say that it's unprofessional or whatever and make laws telling us to change it. It's our own fault. I don't have locks but I'm guilty of not taking better care of my natural hair. This has encouraged me to do better.
Hey boo.... Miss you. You should do more videos
Tell it like it is!!!....(song)...You are right...Thanks for sharing!!!
And all of the above. I love when he says that.
this video is soooo needed! plz ppl educate yourself!
You are awesome! I totally love watching your videos! Your the only that I see that really knows what their talking about, and have so much passion for what you do! It's not about the money for you, IT'S ABOUT THE SUCCESS! Love it!
You speaking the way I speak to my clients! Especially with the marketing of the product and what these products do. Thank you.
......and these sound effects! I can't!
that loc n curl be giving me and my clients life 😍
Hi, i have a question? Is it ok to use the ORS lock & twist gel? I notice that he didn't say anything bad about it and that's what use.
natalee chambers I think at 3:20 he has some and speaks on it.
natalee chambers I just asked the same thing. Thats what i use as well. How does it work out for you? i like it.
Can you use the loc and curl daily just as a moisturizer
Intangible Inches I like it, it's light weight and I have no build up on my hair.
Knowledge!! (take a drink every time Damien says "All of the above.")
This was a very informative video as always. Using the wrong products can ruin a lot of time and effort especially when the hair is locked. I have sisterlocks and only use the sisterlock products. They are not cheap or easily accessible however, these products were created for my locking system and the results speak for themselves. People need to use what's good and what works not what's on trend or "new". I love your videos. Keep teaching and preaching 😘
Elizabeth Young can you school me on what I need to know please
I've never had issues with Jamaica Lime...but then again I don't goop it on my roots. A little goes a loooooooooong way folks.
Hi! It's not the amount you put. It's the product it self. I tried it on my clients to see what all the hype was about and found it very drying; could be the lime. If you think about it, an actual lime will dry the life out of anything.
Damian, I love you, but find it hard staying through an entire vid, bc it's hard to hear you above all the noise and the music in the background. Seriously!!! So, thank you. This was crystal clear!!!!!!
Mr. Damian I respect you so because you care for our hair + you're funny as hell.
ANYWAY IVE BEEN USING THE JAMAICAN CACTUS PRODUCTA ON MY DAUGJTERS HAIR FOR A YEAR ....OH LORD JESUS , I DIDNT KNOW HOW CAN I ORDESR YOUR PRODUCTA??? YES PRODUCTA LOL
thank you🙌🙌 my 1st set was dine by an African she used wax and gel 3 months later I had to take them down... I was able to see Tiff when she came to NY now I'm so ☺...
Bees wax and sound effects. 🤣😂😂😂🤣
Seriously, thanks for the info.
Love you Damian! Everyday I'm so thankful I let you start me on my way. Miss you! Great video! ❤️
Amen Damian! I get so happy when I see your videos. I used to be a product junkie like the rest but now I do my research and read ingredients like a bible! Teach!!!!
you are truly a blessing to my in home stylist business, I can't thank you enough 🤗
I would love for Mr. Walter to do my hair one day. I know he will tell me off with love. But I need help. Mr. Walter is amazing.
Year 2020 and you still my go to expert for my locs. You heard me? 🤗🤣🤣🤣🌷🤑😁
I had "homeless head" for a minute not cause I didn't wash my hair but I've been doing it since I got it started myself and at first I didn't know how to really take care of it completely before getting locs. Big mistake I never even had long hair before so I was totally ignorant of natural beauty products that would be beneficial to my hair all this time I just been getting by with products from Sally's and local franchise stores that really don't have anything for natural hair but I finally just ordered the three step design essentials you have been speaking of and I've been watching your channel for the last two years I don't know what's wrong with me I should have been got them but my shit ain't on the floor yet so its good timing I hope
I mix 100% pure coconut oil, jojoba oil, Jamaican black castor oil, and 100% tea tree oil. Are these oils good for starter locks?
Idk...but I definitely would've ask before I I mixed it up. You only need one...Jojoba oil
I love your shout about hair.
Can you recommend what products to use for low porosity hair?
Just started watching and I subscribed...love watching him
Man the was awesome I wish more hair stylist where like you
You are right, I have had to use only non-clogging oils and butters as leave ins for my loose natural hair. My hair hates chemical based leave ins. For shampoos and conditioners, I am ok with non harmful chemical ingredients since I will rinse them out. I use your info for my own hair care.
Amen to this Video! Thank you so much for the share. You just helped me confirm products for my clients. it's sometimes a battle to break them of bad habits.
thank for the good information. very helpful..love your energy!!
the whole video those products didn't move off the refrigerator
Marlaina LuvsLocs. I too thought he was putting them on the fridge but it's a piece of glass.
Marlaina LuvsLocs IKR!
Marlaina LuvsLocs 😂😂
ikr ! I took that Jamaican lime right back to the store
Boss Locs is
Thanks for teaching us. Live long and prosper...
Jojoba oil has the same chemical make up as sebum. Coconut oil is one of the only oils that will actually penetrate the hair shaft.
Happy Belated birthday, btw! ;) 👌
I'm glad to see you're still making videos!
Can you please make a video about controlling dandruff and dreadlocks in the winter
annoyed wtf this!
annoyed wtf yes!!! i know its stress and dryness but all of a sudden i had some dandruff😣. I did a good clarifying shampoo some restorative conditioning and have been trying to stay extra moisturized and not scratch my scalp as much. i hope it works but idk what else to do.
one of the very very few hair video where someone knows what they are talking about.
There's no impact like a positive one
Thank you for this. I used that Jamaican Lime stuff for starter locks and it was a mistake.
Sassy Gay Justice omg same
Sassy Gay Justice why what happened ?
Thank you for this video. I now know how to correctly take care of my husbands locs. Much love! New subscriber
Thank you thank you so much for this video and your other videos I've just started my loc journey and your video has helped me heavenly as far as how & where to start and maintain my locs. I have a couple of clients I do re-twisting for and will be switching over to your hair care maintenance for their benefits too. And no I'm not a loctician, just someone that started doing locs in 95 and up until maybe last month or so I didn't even know that there were classes for this. So thank very much for your knowledge and help.
I loved this video. It was coming straight from your heart.
You are the best!
Thank you so much Damian. I am grateful for this education
16:02 - *Oh, No!* *I've been using Castor Oil for years!* *And, I agree, it is a very heavy oil, that should not be applied to the locs.* *I only use it on my scalp; once every 3-5 days.*
Excellent video :)
Hey Damian I think you're awesome, as everyone else does. Do ever come to Miami for appointments.
Hey Damian! when is your next tour? I live in NC, but I am from MD, so whenever you're around one of those areas.. I NEED TO SEE YOU!
With love,
Kendra
i bought your product for starting my locs. The stylist was hesitant to use it because their were no ingredients listed which i can understand because you don't want anyone to steal your product and market it. The stylist continued to use it anyway and was pleasantly surprised by how it worked but i had no idea it was so strongly scented!
I simply could not use it because i didn't know what was in it and the smell was like fresh laundry but it was TOO strong for me.
Absolutely loved this video😄
Hi Damian, love all your videos, I have been a long time subscriber of yours and agree with everything you say about everything concerning hair health and locs, I have been locking my hair for 6 years and many others, I remember you gave us the ingredients for a locking spray in the past, if you don’t mind and you still have that video can you send it to me please, if not wear can I buy some? Love all that you do, Thank you for teaching us so much💙
Love the beard and the disclaimer!
