Sir, After downloading custom indicator from internet, Is it mandatory to open the file first before drag & drop it into meta trader MT4? Also does it matter if original indicator file is in compressed form & how do you open metatrader & downloaded file on the same windows lap top screen simultaneosly to do the drag & drop step.Thank you

Hey Trading hero, I know how to install indicators but I have another qns with regards to mt5 that I think maybe you can help me with. The stop limit orders in mt5 is not the conventional stop limit order that other brokerages uses right? Eg. In Interactive brokers if I place a buy stop limit the limit price HAVE to be HIGHER than the stop price, but in mt5 the limit price have to be LOWER than the stop price, why is this so? Let me know thanks!
I've never traded with IB, but a buy stop limit should be at or lower than the stop price to execute. That's because once the stop is hit, the order converts to a limit order and you are looking for the stop price or better.
Are you sure you aren't using a straight buy stop with IB?

@@TradingHeroes Hey Hugh, yup i saw the video, nice work. I sort of understand how the stop limit order in mt5 works, you think the price will go up so after it went up and triggered your stop order, you want to enter on the pullback, but the thing is if its a breakout the price never pullbacks lower than where your stop price is, so you would miss the move.
the conventional stop limit order i am familiar with is this: www.investopedia.com/terms/s/stop-limitorder.asp
so in the eg. on this page of putting a buy stop limit on apple stock, the stop price is at $180 but the limit price is $185. the idea is that i want to catch the move up but i don't want to pay too much for it. i thought that all stop limit orders are the same everywhere so i was pretty confused when i saw the stop limit order in mt5 is different.

Hei sir i was trying to install the SSL indicator in the mt5 but it doesn’t work i cant convert the file from Winzip file to mql source code file but my friend told me the mt4 version of the indictor works but if i even try to install the mt4 platform it stil downloads the mt5 platform

1. Did you buy a MT4 indicator? If so, it won't work in MT5.
2. Is it an EA or an indicator? An EA won't show up on the list.
3. Restart your computer.

I did this and my indicators are still not showing up under customs.What could be the problem?
Did you install it in the folder that comes up when to go to: File > Open Data Folder? What operating system are you running this on? If you run MT5 on Wine, PlayOnMac or Crossover for Mac, those platforms are buggy and might not let you install indicators and EAs.
