- I've been waiting for this day for a few years now. The day I own another Ford Model A.
In 2017 I bought myself a 1930 Ford Model A Roadster that was already built. It was painted, low, whitewalls, with a small block 350. It was a beautiful car. The problem was, I didn't build it. So after close to a year of owning it, I sold it.
I told myself that one day, I'm going to build one. That day has finally came.

Mike seems like one hell of a guy.. especially carrying on his son’s legacy for helping out other children. Great video as always, and definitely looking forward to watching the creativity flow 🤙🏻
God bless Uncle Mike. Poor guy was on the verge of tears after talking about the charity.
Im a Ford lover, when you bring that one back to life, it will definitely be a show stopper. Great video
I am french. All i can say is that car is really beautiful, you are very lucky to find this one, i love american old cars.
Insane find, Congrats dude.
Damn cool car! Muncle mike seems like a super chill dude
The dream hotrod bod, comming from a chevy guy.
If your going to drive it around with the 4 banger, don't fill the radiator to the top, because it will overheat, just fill it about 1.5 inch down from the top. Cool car.... this should be fun.
Welcome to my neck of the woods not much out here but the scenery is nice I’m building my sportster and it definitely got inspired by watching your videos thank you🤘
Keep it stock ! It’s too nice as is
Absolutely agree.
Damn man, what a great find, the perfect donor for what ever you want to make it, whatvever it is I know its gonna be cool, Cheers brother🍻
I would keep it all original but what ever you decide to do to it, it’s going to be awesome! Great find!
Mike sounds like a great guy, i could listen to more of him
Congrats. Can't wait to see how it is going to turn out. Maybe next time you can show us what you got in mind for this beauty. Good Luck.
Really cool find, my grandfather emigrated to the US and worked in the Ford plant in Detroit just before your car was made. He was a cabinet maker / woodworker. Seeing all the interior wood on your car, it all makes sense now. He moved back to Scotland when the depression hit.
Top project.
My life vicariously through you.
Lot's to chew on with this one though. Time and dedication needed.
Good for the channel though.
Hot rods hold the only interest for car work.
My dream ride!
So stocked for this project !!!
I envy you Bro !very nice project !👍🏽💪🏽👊🏽
Excellent! 👍👍
That’s amazing! Can’t wait to see the shining finish of it!
Impresionante ese Ford, tienes trabajo a reventar y seguro que me lo voy a pasar bomba viendo el proceso en tus videos. Saludos from Spain🍻
Tenho certeza que ficara lindo, voce e muito caprichoso, mas nao se esqueca, uma patna dessa nao tem preco, a naturesa trabalhou por 90 anos, parabens pela aquisicao. Uma bela peça para um rathod.
That’s dope. Getting rare these days.
Thats why an all unmolested auto should stay original and not hot rodded. There’s enough junkers out there to build a rod.
Ha! I have a couple of Hot Wheels from MuncleMikes!
Looks like the Stanley statue on Disney’s Cars movie
My First time in the US, back in 2015, My first destination was Burbank, to see Hollywood Hot Rods. Right next door was Old Crow Speed Shop. Some really cool stuff on both. Wish I could come and visit again. That was the only time I came really close to those kinds of machines. The stuff I was only able to see on Magazines and Discovery Channel. More Power! Alway looking forward to your videos.
Very cool Ford. I love watching your videos, it reminds me of living in Southern California. I really miss it out there.
This is a killer find! Its in amazing shape. I wouldn't be surprised if Jay Leno doesn't reach out to you to get his hands on this before you start working on it lol! Nice stuff!
Sure is nice for an unrestored A. To me it seems that the leatherback coupe would make more sense as a restored car or something close to restored. A 30-31 would be easier to make into a hot rod as you would have less wood in the top and none of the leatherback stuff to figure out. If you are interested in the traditional old school flathead V8 hot rods there is a book called "Building a Traditional Ford Hot Rod" by Mike Bishop and Vern Tardel that would be helpful if you are not familiar with old Ford parts and interchangeability. Even if you decide to go the Chevy v8 route there are probably some useful ideas to be found in this book.
Flathead V8 yes. SBC, no.
that's so cool foundation Mike so awesome. can't believe 96 years working huh, waiting to see transformation
Damn, you even get to drive it on the trailer...what a treat!👍 EDIT: wow, I missed that you're in San Jose...you lucky dog, there's nothing in the area, that's a frickin' score, all the steel looks good, the thing even runs...congrats!🎉
Badass
Glad to see you doing a hot rod love then old 5 windows ok buddy thanks for sharing have a great family and fun wensday ❤❤❤
Looking forward to what is to come of it!
Good new proyect!!! Beautiful but sad history of Mike, grand man!!! ✌🏻
I believe the old coupes were cut into making them a pickup truck because of gas rationing laws at the time. Pickup trucks would get more gas. I just bought myself a 1930 Model A like 3 years ago and did a little research on them. Mine is way worse than this one. My engine and trans are both locked up plus broken glass and no interior. But I finally got one.
Hell yeah man ive just started my own ratrod 28 model A. But im in Australia so im right hand drive but i cant wait to see you do this.
what's your instagram? Would love to follow your build
@@LNSPLTBLVD i have instagram but only for inspiration like your builds i dont post anything but whenever i finish it i will definitely post and tag you. So far its a 28 pickup, building custom chassis and flat bed for it ill be running my high compression build rb30 carby because the came out in a 4x4 here with factory carburettor but ill be running a 480cfm holley and hopefully i can sort out a custom supercharger setup for it then run that through a 4spd full manual automatic to a ford 9 inch diff.
@@LNSPLTBLVD not to mention i only get to work on it like once a month for a few hours so its slow progress most of the time but i thoroughly enjoy it
Very nice mate, you are a lucky, lucky b@stard!!!
Lol it’s a lot of work finding one. Luck played a small factor
Rare collections.. it would be look good in glossy black
A lot of cars were converted to trucks during World War II because of gas rationing. It was more often permitted to get fuel if you had a pick up truck rather than a car.
I have a 29 spiecal coupe that is the same
Highboy four-banger!
автомобиль красивый и редкий,
будет жаль если он станет ещё одним ходродом..
I hope you're keeping the fenders , they look like they're in amazing shape & they look bitchin' when you hot rod them... congrats !
That’s a lot of work😢😢😂
Criminal to chop up a nice straight A. High geared? 80 mph? These two are funny.
And they will not go 80 mph
80 miles in hour! what are you smoking!
Keep it original please! Too many great cars have been butchered.
@@markosterman419 lol no.
Another antique car ruined. Why destroy this nice original car when there’s so many junkers you can hot rod? PURE SACRILEGE!
