Thanks for watching
Mine stopped working today and I almost bought a new one for $100, but thought to youtube this issue and came across your video! This fix worked like a charm
This is crazy. One of those things that looks like a complete joke and then you do it and it friggin' works. God, I love the internet. Thank you.
Twice have I done this and twice has it worked, on the same mouse! When it happens once it appears you will have to do this procedure once a year, so thanks for showing it!
Update: It broke again, though not the same fault. I've given up and have bought a 3s, hoping it won't be as troublesome.
Just did it today! Thanks for the help, I Can't believe that many people have the same issue.
Thanks, I had both my mice break with the same fault within 2 weeks. had to pick the first one out of the trash when I found your video. I opted to cut that gesture button board out on mine as I never use them and it saves it breaking again.
Just fixed mine for the 2nd time in a year. I never use the gesture button so I'm thinking of doing the permanent snip solution too. Now to find the best way to achieve that.
Thanks for the detailed video. Needed a $7 toolset from Amazon and was good to go. Logitech were pretty much useless in their support as it was out of warranty, given the amount of feedback here on this video this issue is way too common.
Thanks for the video! Happy I won't have to replace my work-mouse just yet
Hi, Klj; thank you for your comment and support. 😊
I am glad you successfully repaired your mouse.
After that repair, I am still using mine for one and a half years, and it does not give signs of problems.
Ciao
Awesome. It worked! I mean... It kinda worked, at least I can use the original MX Master 1. The pointer wasn't moving and the small plastic tab that pushes on the thumb button was broken, the rubber from the outside also. It doesn't work, I can't use it so I broke the connection to it. Now the mouse works but the outside rubber... Too bad is ripped, it comes out in chunks. The quality of rubbers in mice is not good, I had many from many brands that becomes sticky then it rubs off then it cracks and rips.
My mouse stopped working in the middle of a project- this was a life saver!
My friend you just save my life, I love this mouse, and you fix my MS2!!! Thank you!!!

THANK YOU MAN !!! i really love this mouse and you saved it
Grande, ho risolto
Thank you, this helped!
Thank you very much!
Two comments: I didn't manage to fix the button with software, but I found I could unstick the button by simply lifting up the rubber/plastic thumbrest with some tape. I don't normally use the thumb button, so as long as I don't press it there is no disassembly required!
Really good and helpfull video!!! Thx👍
Thank you for the solution!
Many thanks! Worked a charm!
My good god man, thank you!!!!
Hi, if I model the mouse, mirror it, and 3d print it do you think I could use the electronics to make a left handed version?
Hi, thank you for your comment.
I think it should not be a problem at all to do that, the software allows you to swap the left and the right button.
Just have in mind the asymmetric components inside the mouse mich may require some extra modelling thoughts.
I am not left-haded by I have always wondered why Logitech doesn't offer the design for left-handed people knowing that they lose a good share of sales with this.
Ciao
you are the top! thank you i fixed it!
it worked! Thank you so much!
Thanks a lot bro 😍😍😍😍
Thank you!
saved my life!

Same problem today
Nice!
спасибо ОГРОМНОЕ !!!! 🍩
super DANKE !
This is the second time I experience the same issue years ago, fixing the same spot, with the same video tutorial. You're a rocket scientist man
thanks a lot for this simple and easy to follow video! My mouse is basically my working tool so I panicked a bit when nothing worked anymore. You saved my working day (and my gaming days)!
Wow. This is amazing. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! What a simple solution. + the added investment in a comprehensive electronics screwdriver/bit set. Absolutely worth it for anyone on the fence. I wanted to restore my older MX (currently using MX2) and this tracking issue was my only hold up. After loosening the screws, It works as demonstrated. Glad to know if my MX2 starts to get funky. CHEERS!
Thank you it worked. Though all I did was unscrew the things and press down on this orange thing and boom it worked lol.
Loved this video! I panicked when this stopped working for me and I was thinking I had to fork out for a new mouse but you've saved me a whole load of money so thank you ! Great clear instructional video! loved it! Thanks again
I had exactly the same situation!
I panicked too ! Haha I am so happy it works now
Worked like a charm and only took a few minutes ! thank you very much for this tutorial. It fixed my mouse and now it's ready for 5 more years of good service :-)
Thanks for the video. This fixed my issue I had with this mouse.
Already bought a backup (trackball, to try).
Anyway... top!
Thanks, man! Shame on Logitech, to have such a design flaw on an advanced and not really cheap mouse! For me it started after a bit more than 2 yrs just out of the blue... and I never used this thumb button as the haptic isn't very good anyway.
Yeah... never used the thumb button! Looking forward to fixing my mouse now... but really why on earth should this fault happen in the first place?? Thx for the explainer :)
Thanks, this helped me save my mouse. My button clicked before repair, so I was sceptical if this will helep with my stationary cursor. But it worked. I wonder if this means my mouse is closer to be dead for real.
My left click worked only if I pressed hard enough, and blowing underneath the button didn't fix anything. I ended up opening it, and found that the little (-) shape on the button caved in a little bit of the top part of the plastic above, requiring a deeper click to register. I just put a little piece of tape on it so reduce the distance required to click, it's almost perfect now. Seems like a case of planned obsolescence, why else would they use soft plastic for that mechanism?? It's so flimsy, especially for an expensive mouse!
Also, opening this for the first time requires pure brute forcing of the shell... I found that pulling the part at 5:12 only worked up to a certain point, I had to use a butter knife in that opening to force it to snap. The rest opened with much less force.
Hi, thank you for your comment.
Unfortunately, while our politicians are pushing toward a greener world, forcing us to keep up with their somewhat meaningless rules, with no plastic and electric cars; the manufacturers move towards unrepairable products which will inevitably end up in the landfills and some take advantage by removing the charger from the new phones.
Simply the world we live in today.
Ciao
Thanks so much - I had the same problem and 3 minutes saved me a lot of frustration and money for a new mouse! My thumb button was giving me a hard time before the mouse stopped working as the default action was somehow triggered all the time - I was able to solve that problem by setting the actin to none for that button. However, that did not work when the cursor stopped moving.
Well. if you have this problem, you can easily solve it without opening the mouse. Just get a scapel and slide it between the rubber and plastic on the gesture button side, then pry it a little bit. Works in less than a minute.
Peace.
I should have looked up this video before going out and buying another MX mouse, not complaining too much, I picked up an MX 3s.
OR another solution is just disable Thumb button(set its function to "None") in LG Options software.
@Middle Room Workshop DA 🐐 NO 🧢 ‼ Bro Saved me From Buying A New Mouse ‼😳
this worked! Thanks a lot !
Thank you - this worked for the problem exactly as explained!!!
My mouse stop working at all and shows now a red light 🤦🏻♂.. thanks anyway :)
It worked for me ! Thank you very much !!! You saved me 100$... 🙏🙏
Wow. Thank you! 💖
Mine just stopped working randomly and this fixed it :)
The amazingly annoying part is that you need three different screwdrivers to do this, due to the difference in screws and sizes!
I had the same issue and I can solve it with your intrduction ...Thanks
RUclips does it again! problem fixed! thanks
Thank you, this worked like a charm. For anyone needing this, the small screws on top are torx T4
Just the problem for which I was searching for a solution. I did not want to investing in a new mouse. Thanks for sharing
Worked perfectly for me. Thank you very much!
You are a saint. You just saved me UA$100+. Thanks so much. 😄😄😄
This worked ! I wonder how you found it out. Thanks 🙏
Great video that saved my mouse :) Thank you!
Köszönjük!
Thank you so much for this! It saved my mouse!!!
OMG it worked! Thanks so much!!
Weird sorcery , but works, I tilt my hat to you!
Thank you for saving me Rs 10,000
Worked, thank you. Saved me alot of money.
Thank you so very much. You saved me 6000 Rs .
Excellent, thank you for this guide. I shall be trying the same with mine this evening. As for the use of the gesture button, I do a lot of work in AutoCAD so I had mine mapped to the escape key as in it would cancel whatever command I was working with in AutoCAD at the time. Extremely useful.
very useful tuto. I saved 80USD.
