The last 8 shots were spread out from the red center to a clover leaf cluster, which is what I was trying to show when I zoomed in.

Man i absolutley love your energy, very uplifting and inspirational such good vibes! What a great review for a great firearm, love this alaskan takedown 1892 its beautiful. So many small details come together and make this especially great! Like the octagonal barrel and also really like the D shaped lever handle to name a few. Thanks for sharing with us pard'ner🤠

Thank you Mike. What you think should I put a Reddot on this thing?

You are welcome my friend, the rifle seems perfect as is, if you already have a red dot, you could apply it to the p rail, and see how you like it, but if the peep sight works, i might keep it stock.
I have been interested in this model for a long time because of the takedown feature, taken down it is likely easy on real estate for transport, and would be an excellent companion to a revolver of the same caliber.
The beauty of the pcc is that you only need to pack 1 caliber for your trip.
Also it stows so nicely and conveniently, perfect for your home office gun cabinet,
As far as the red dot,, its likely good for fast target acquisition, but if you are hunting from a fixed position or target shooting, im not sure the red dot is an advantage, but my old eyes could benefit from any assistance they can get.
But id see what kind of groups you can get at 25/50/75 yards,,, it may be that this caliber and platform is intended for close brush work and a red dot might just be too much optic for those distances.
If your eyes can benefit from a more visible sight picture, then maybe, but again im not sure the performance of the rifle can be enhanced by a red dot,
Also, the rifle is very nice as is, imo.
The best feature is the utility and engineering of the takedown feature.
That single feature imo is the most interesting feature. There is an old world elegance that comes from being able to assemble a 19th century styled rifle from a custom wood or leather case and hunting or target shooting with it.
You have got me considering this rifle in .357 to match my single action revolver.
You must really enjoy that rifle,, you have got an incredibly cool gun and a great conversation piece! 👍

I love my take down 92! I have the blued one with a micro red dot mounted. Deadly accurate out to 100! Mine likes the heavier loads. The stainless looks great!

Looking really hard at this gun, as it seems to be a 44 takedown with few downsides. Not many takedown rifles around these days, and it would be handy for travel.

... when you load through the loading gate leave the base of the previously loaded cartridge holding the gate open for the next cartridge to be loaded ... no need whatsoever for your thumb or fingers to be anywhere near the edges of the loading gate ... I see shooters with years of experience who don't know how to load a levergun

Will it cycle the 250 grain Keith hard cast loads? I had a beautiful Marlin 1894 octagon barrel in .44magnum, but it would not cycle the 250 hard cast "Keith" load, so it had to go...
