    Wow I absolutely love that rifle you are so lucky to own one. I want to purchase one so badly however they are so hard to find in Canada these days. The 12 inch barrel and 44mag is my favorite config. Hopefully il be able to find one in the not so distant future.

    I have the regular 44 mag Chiappa mare's leg. I think the Alaskan with the full stock would be great for shooting it like a rifle. Wish I knew about this one when it came in.

      Tell me about it. I missed this exact gun a few weeks ago in .357 and it was only a half hour from my house on Vancouver Island. I fiddled around a little to long and when I decided to grab it, it was sold 😡

    I have the one with the 16" barrel as the 12" barrel model can't be taken to the states where I sometimes go to hunt.

    I'm quite sure that this rifle is Canadian.
    But, what do I know about Italian guns, with names from cold northern peninsulas, when I live in a mitten? 😁

    • @DailyDoseOfCanada
      @DailyDoseOfCanada 2 года назад

      Well the rifle is actually Italian. Chiappa firearms are from Italy says it on the gun. They named it the Alaskan due to the marine/adverse conditions coating. Which isn't electroless nickel it is hard chrome. This specific firearm is the Canadian version with a 12 inch barrel instead of the 16 inch barrel in America due to SBR laws. It is still considered non restricted in Canada tho :)

    Stop a bear?

    • @saigudbai
      @saigudbai 8 лет назад +1

      I would trust .44 magnum to stop a Grizzly if you use a solid bullet like a Barnes and are able to place your shots with confidence. I carry a 44 with Barnes XPB solid copper for bear country, but have never had to give it a try yet, thankfully.

    • @Just_a_Tool
      @Just_a_Tool 4 года назад +1

      James Bond 44 Mag is a powerful round out of revolvers, but turns into a completely different round out of longer barrels. The ballistics on it out of longer barrels is so much better. .44 out of just a 6 in revolver barrel will stop a bear with a well placed shot.

    To macewonmouse. I watched the video again. Yeah there is something wrong with what he did. He loaded a live round in the chamber with the hammer cocked and then proceeded to load the action with more live ammo. He should have lowered the hammer or not even loaded the chamber? Why not just load the action and do the lever to put a live round ???? Makes no sense and is dangerous. Again not to be a safety sally but.....true

    • @akaMouse
      @akaMouse 9 лет назад

      Is there a way to load this gun +1 in the chamber and not do that? I noticed the second time he loaded the magazine first, then loaded the chamber and put 1 more in the magazine but the hammer was still cocked

    • @fireyourrocketts
      @fireyourrocketts 6 лет назад

      The only safety this gun has is when loaded you can drop the hammer, it does not drop all the way but in this condition nothing can be actioned until you cock it back. I would prefer loading the tube first then chambering, if want to top it, the hammer can be uncocked, then load again, always with the gun pointed downrange or away from anything, it should be fine this way; I did not like it the first time he did it, makes one feel uncomfortable. I own this gun chambered in .44 with 20" barrel, they are nice and lots of fun, we should ensure always the fun can continue. I would be very nervous going to the range or hunting with Deskdrawer.

    Man, you slam that beauty down awful hard on that rusty old steel table. Did your dad buy that for you? I am a bit jealous, but, any firearm should be treated like a lady.

    • @kevinmorley8119
      @kevinmorley8119 6 лет назад +3

      Nope she is mine through and through. Some guns are safe queens, and some are tools. This one is a tool to me, and I don't buy tools that need to be treated like princesses. It still looks beautiful after many years of good shooting.

      Ya, sorry pal. You look like a spoiled brat. I am pretty sure that anyone who works for his money, would not treat a gun that way.

  • @stripervince1
    @stripervince1 10 лет назад

    Nice little rifle. I noticed something you did not good at all. I dont wanna preach or be a safety sally, but at 1:45 you levered the action open, put a round in the chamber, closed the action, left the hammer cocked, and then loaded rounds in the mag. Dont know where the safety is or if it was on, but that was not looking good. RUclips is filled with gun accidents and malfunctions. Dont want you to become a stat bro. I care. Awww
    A guy I vaguely know recently loaded me some .45 long colts for my circuit judge for pig hunting. Hog loads he told me. The first shot was like a rhinocerous load. I thought It was curtains. Blew my ear out and scope hit me in the eye. The famous weatherby brow. Over loaded is an understatement
