While I was playing the game I kept asking myself how did Capcom managed to do these cutscenes in real time. Lighting in particular was a puzzle. After seeing this video everything makes so much sense. These tricks aren't revolutionary but they are so well thought out and placed.
@@thenonexistinghero Highly likely as the RE engine was developed with RE7 in mind and has been their go to engine for new games and remakes since. they still use the gen 7 engine for ports, remasters and collections.
@@Izanagi-Arsene That's why I said RE7, I just forgot to mention that they all use the same engine. Haven't played RE7 all that much though. Wanted to wait with it until I could do so in VR... but I've played for a few hours in VR on PC by now (with a mod) and I'm really not enjoying it all too much so far. I haven't actually killed anyone since they just keep reviving and all you can do is run away. I've never been too fond of hide & seek gameplay. I don’t suppose it’s possible to watch the village fight from a different view? Many people have suspected enemies teleport around the map throughout this whole fight. It would be great to see this first hand
I'm curious but I get the feeling there's just spawn points spread throughout the village perimeter and the remake's AI doesn't have the quirk they had in the original that made them less aggressive if they were offscreen.
Imo, the cube is here for two purposes : - Aim point for Ganados, they'll always try to hit this spot. - The texture for the corrupted blood in Leon's veins.

It's also possible that it might have just been a duplicated asset from the RE2/3 remakes. There's a bunch of assets within 4 remake that are taken from those games with some minor graphical improvements and it wouldn't surprise me if they just grabbed a random medicine asset they wanted in the background that was from maybe one of the nest's and didn't worry about the story implications of a logo you can't really see without modding the game.

Can you prove or disprove the claim that enemies magically teleport behind the player? I keep hearing people complain about this but I have never felt like an enemy has teleported behind or near me, even during the infamous cabin siege
when arriving to the island for the first time in the remake to the left you can find the original area for the Saddler boss fight in the original game.
fun fact about re engine, it cannot do real time reflections, or at least if it can then it does so in a very limited fashion, every single instance of mirrors in the games so far have either been prerendered videos (jill in the bathroom, lady D on the phone, krauser and leon looking at krauser's knife, etc) or the mirrors in question have been covered up or shattered
4:25 So far in the video, my guess is that it is the room where Saddler's monologues take place at points of the game (like after the del lago fight for example).
Capcom absolutely killed this one. I play it literally everyday as much as I can between work and training. RE has been my favorite series since 1998 and I was never a big fan of OG RE4 but this remake is has improved everything I didn't like about the old game. I'm so glad you came out with this Video it is so damn good bro.
Re 4 was my first RE game. After playing that I didnt have the urge to do so. Only Revelations 2, Re 2 remake, Re 5, and Re 4 remake are the only RE games made me excited to play it again and again.
Room under the lake is where Saddler appears during several cutscenes. I was expecting to fight him in there whenever we got to the island and was surprised to never see it, so I recognized it instantly here
18:18 this actually Can't be a pre-rendered video, because the reflection actually changes based on the facial accessory Leon has equipped! So I'm guessing a Live camera angle on Leon's face rendered on the knife's surface
Very cool video. This game was simply amazing. I played RE2/4 more than any of the other games in the series as far as the originals, and I was very impressed with the RE2 remake that came out back in 2019 so my expectations were obviously very high for this one. It's funny because I don't play a lot of video games these days, and I didn't realize that an RE4 remake was even being made until like a week before it came out lol. I went in completely blind with high expectations, and the game still impressed me and delivered on pretty much every level. I played through the entire game like 4 times in a row and had a blast, then realized I had never got around to playing the remake of RE3, nor had I got around to playing RE8 - The Village (I wasn't a huge fan of the first person perspective change that was done in VII and just never got around to checking out VIII, and it's funny because now I am now finding out that VIII is basically a return to the style of RE4 with the merchant/upgrades/attaché case and so on) so I have been on an RE binge for the past month and all three games were fantastic. Capcom seems to have a really solid and talented team working on this series nowadays, I'm really excited to see what they will do next.
Yeah I’ve been on a RE binge myself after getting all the trophies of 4 remake! I’ve platinumed 1 hd, 2 remake, 3 remake, RE Revelations 2, 7, and 8! I’m now on 5, then onto 6, then RE Revelations 1, then RE 0! I’ve played maybe half of these over the years, played the old ones years ago, love me some RE.
I’m wondering if you might have been able to find any stuff connected to Ada’s campaign at this point, but it still may be too early! Either or, this is an awesome video. Love your content!
Is the room under the lake the one you see Saddler during telepathic cutscenes? Edit: Yep. The way Verdugo runs at 12:50 is amazing I also didn't realise how weird Ada's kick at 10:02 looked. During the cutscene i always thought she was using her right foot to kick, but she actually uses her left in a very weird angle like she's simply putting it onto Leon And seeing the way Capcom managed to work out the lightning in cutscenes makes me wonder how Monster Hunter World's cutscenes look like from a different angles. You see, the cutscenes in game are also in real time but use lightning sources that are not actually present in the map itself. P.S. I think you've missed the scene in Mendez's room with Ada's grappling. I wonder how it'd look like from different angles
I think at 19:00 is a nod to previous RE4 pilot that had used the ganados’ texture and the developer just want to acknowledge the discovery. It was pretty interesting if they did just that.
9:02 now im only going off of memory, but in the concept art menu, theres one titled: unused concept, and i vaguely remember it looking like that, so that could be an early build before it was scrapped

I’m wondering if you might have been able to find any stuff connected to Ada’s campaign at this point, but it still may be too early! Either or, this is an awesome video. Love your content!
Very cool video I liked it. You must have seen the original RE4 comparator video to see the great work the studios have done
Amazing video, looking forward for episode 2
9:30 So, you just made me realize that creating lighting effects for 3D Cinematics is basically like planning the lights for a stage theatre play.
17:39 Leon is actually malding after not getting the greetings from Ada
You really always do professional work, and your voice is interesting.😊 I always come to see your videos when i see notification or on instagram 😊
transparent portion of thumbnail is so cool
Is the room under the lake the one you see Saddler during telepathic cutscenes? Edit: Yep.
The way Verdugo runs at 12:50 is amazing
I also didn't realise how weird Ada's kick at 10:02 looked. During the cutscene i always thought she was using her right foot to kick, but she actually uses her left in a very weird angle like she's simply putting it onto Leon
And seeing the way Capcom managed to work out the lightning in cutscenes makes me wonder how Monster Hunter World's cutscenes look like from a different angles.
Excellent video 👏🏻
Bit since i saw the original RE4 y want to see one of RE5
Bro good video and all but tbh the thumbnail is the real hero
Some beautiful editing in the beginning
Yay!
Just finished the video, your scene transitions are 👌🏻
Bro the transitions are hitting different
Yes! I've been waiting for this one!
9:02 now im only going off of memory, but in the concept art menu, theres one titled: unused concept, and i vaguely remember it looking like that, so that could be an early build before it was scrapped
Great video! About when Leon looks at his reflection in Krauser's dagger, it changes depending on the costume you're wearing.
i love these vids. so cool to see how things work behind the scene we cant manualy see with out mods glitches and such.
4:24. My guess, that's the room they use for Saddler's scenes when he's communicating through the Plaga hivemind.
The fact that Leon gets wacked twice by Méndez must have Lt. Branagh rolling in his grave.
Bet the strange pillar room is for the visions of Saddler
EDIT: I was right!
