However if you don't want to see alternative videos to that ONE channel that you like, and totally miss out on what other players find in games, thats cool, i understand that too. You know a game is good when it was released in 2005 and is still extremely popular and still sells very well today in 2017 on the ps4. Re4 was one of the best games ever made.
I still remember when the game was released and being blown away by how it looked. I even showed a friend and he was like "That's on PS2?" (Yes, I know the Gamecube version was better but I didn't have that back in the day.)
12:28 I love how wtf that trap is.... so the intent then...is for the person you want to catch to run down into a obvious dead end and then somehow not stop or delay for a second above the spikey wall things, and then after all that end up at the back wall, in the perfect spot for the bars to come out and hold them, and that the person would not only be in the super exact spot as to not be gored by the capture bars but to also be the correct size for it to work as intended. Thats one hell of a specific trap.
This blows my mind now. I've beaten this game hundreds of times and never imagined to see outside the maps. Btw, you can't totally blame Ashley in 18:54... When you think you're alone, you get complacent and let it go. Maybe a side effect of Las Plagas is severe flatulence? xD

Unbelievable how much detail you can find in such an old game (and it still looks so damn good all these years later!!) - this is game design at its finest. The lava room, the full carriage route, the scorched model of the El Gigante at 17:37, the beautiful castle model in the background... there are so many things that the player doesn't even see & yet it's all in the game and makes it all feel complete.
Just had to come back and comment on this video because of AGDQ 2018 actually! The RE4 runner JTB actually mentioned in his run when at the cable car how cool it was that there is a video out there showcasing the things that the player normally doesn’t get to see, I believe he was talking about you although no name was mentioned. It’s just nice to see two things I love actually come together like that.
I love the ingenuity of older games when they have to work under limitations to make something cool. Seeing the inventory and the maps made up of those layers blew my mind and that trick with the rotating lava was neat.
In the church, the paper out of the map might just be the instructions you get after getting Ashley, as the manual you pick up is the same as notes you pikc through the game. In the first area and the village there may be some notes for the player manual 1 and 2 as well.
That easter egg in the castle is absolutely mindblowing. After all these years RE4 keeps surprising me, it truly is a masterpiece. Thanks for sharing this!

you can do this with American Mcgee's Alice. Just enter noclip in the console menu and you can clip through the levels and character models for days. It's crazy how much goes on in the levels of that game considering it's now 17 years old.
Your videos are SO much better than the (sadly) more popular Boundary Break videos. Those are so short and barely cover anything. These are much more informative and fun to watch!
the best looking version is obviously the Ultimate HD Edition on PC. However, i'd rather play the GC version, as it still had everything corrected that even the Wii version did.
The Wii edition isn't 60FPS, it's 30 FPS like the GC version. And for the Extras that weren't on GC, it reuses most of the textures from the PS2 version, which were downgraded because the devs couldn't make a straight port for it on PS2 without compromises. Still, it's definitely the best version of all. And if you consider the high amount of mods available for it, the first PC version is also good enough... Used with the GC texture pack, it's almost as good as the Ultimate HD version, which has many performance issues.

Wow, that codec stuff. it's literally them standing next to each other like in a low budget home movie with cardboard frames. that kind of B-movie charm is not what you expect to see in one of the most popular and influential games of all time. that's great. that honestly made my night.
Actually, this is definitely the original GC version running on the Dolphin emulator, which has a sweet camera control hack, that makes it possible to go beyond boundaries in every GC and Wii game, 2D or 3D. It's obvious because of the black bars on all sides; the top and bottom being from the way the game was made, and the side ones are simply overscan. If Slippy had used the emulator's widescreen hack, it wouldn't look stretched, like it does here, and it would be nice to see it in ultrawide.
@@ronc8632 I'm not sure, maybe there are some camera hack mods around the internet... But that version is just a port of the Game Cube release anyways, with only *some* texture improvements and a not so good 60 FPS mode. You could potentially make the original GC version even better with Dolphin, since there are HD texture packs for it which do make it better looking, aside from emulator enhancements, like shaders, and also hacking tools, like this camera hack. You could do the exact same with the Wii version, and it has IR aiming, which can be easily mapped to the mouse.
@@ClaytonCLF There is a "camera hack" but as far as i know it doesnt work for cutscenes on the UHD version . It works ingame just fine :( unless theres a way to do it with Razors trainer and im doing it incorrectly

mentioning the ammo and red herb outside the map, you can do a glitch in the farm where you jump over a fence and can clip outside the map and get these items, fun fact you can also find Ada's Shotgun in a box which is not in the main story and only in separate ways.
its impressive what developers had to do to create certain illusions, given hardware limitations and needing to trim certain area here and there awhile maintaining the atmosphere and core gameplay, no wonder this game ran amazing on the GC

For its age, in my opinion, resident evil 4 was a very, very well put together game.
