MK4 VW GOLF | Headlight wiring harness replacement

I'm back in the garage with my 1999 VW Golf. In this video I figure out why my high beam headlight failed. The wiring harness insulation failed and very likely caused a short that blew a fuse. Replacing the wiring harness solved the problem.

If you want to upgrade them one day, they do make Hella or Valeo(not too sure of the bramd) Glass lense headlight assembly for these.Made in Germany i beleive. U may also find ones with glass lenses aftermarket. Just a thought ....the glass ones wont discolor like the Mexican or Brazillian plastic ones do.

does the state you live in require a vehicle inspection? What happens if it doesn't pass? No registration?

Yep. If it fails, you can't renew your registration. OBD2 emissions and safety inspection for newer cars. safety only inspection for cars that are 25 years old (I think). No inspection for cars that are 30 years old.

@@MaqsVids That sucks. Even in California where car rules are absolutely terrible, we don't have inspections for cars--at least I don't think there is.
