1995 BMW E36 | Fixing the Automatic Transmission | Part 3
I purchased a non running, partially disassembled 1995 BMW 325i. This series will be about the problems I found and how I got it running. I am a big 3 series (E30 and E46) fan. But, I had never driven an E36.
In this video, I finally get it driving.

Just completed this project. 89 K1500 Ext Cab LB. Please note that Maq pulled the crank end OFF his new wiper motor then reattached the motor to the old crank left in the "tunnel" where the arms move. (or I think that's what he did) I took the 2 "ball joints" off the old motor before I pulled the whole thing out, then attached the ball joints to the crank that came with the new motor. if you do it like I did, you are going to have to re-position your wipers ON the windshield when you are tightening the ball joints to the new crank. If you don't do this, your arms in the tunnel are probably going to be positioned wrong, and you are going to have a bind somewhere like I did. Either way, put some grease on the ball joints while you got this thing opened up. Total of FOUR long screws going through the plastic cowling straight down into the firewall. FOUR smaller screws on the plastic below closer to the engine side. I broke my cowl plastic as well, thought there were only three long screws. Still went back on okay. Bought new (wiper) arms to replace the old ones, had to slide them onto the splines, grab the arm, pivot it OUT like I was washing the glass, then reach behind the arm housing by the splines, and pop the retainer clip in to hold the arm to the spline. Then you can fold the thing down on the windshield. Now I don't have to watch my wipers stop in the middle of the windshield anymore 😆 they always turned on, but stopped whenever and wherever they felt like. Thanks Maq, for getting me going on this!

Not fully sure yet but I believe that the larger shims then go to the bottom part of the caliper once installed? The smaller shim then goes to the top.
