Another great video! Frame is looking good!
Awesome video Matt. Thank you for putting this stuff out there. I've been wanting to dip into the older stuff for my next project it's great to have you demystifying some of the process.
Hey Matt, love the vibe of these videos. Great content. Gary
Thanks for the feedback Gary, trying to keep them relatable and true to what's actually going on. No gimmicks, no script, just the stuff that really happens when building old cars from scraps! Thanks for watching! -Matt/ITG
Matt. New subscriber. Just picked up an original 32 frame in much the same condition as yours. My 32 roadster and 31 Model A coupe were built on ASC rails by pro shops. Next rod will be on an original frame built in my shop so this video is timely for me. Thanks for taking the time to produce these videos. Good stuff.
Thanks for following along! Sounds like you have a fun project ahead of you!
The new dash looks real nice, however I was really digging the '40 dash. Oh well! Keep up the good work! Build it to suit yourself!
Thanks for watching!!! -Mike/ITG
Good job matt thank you for vid. What do you do with cars after sell them or drivem
Great channel, out of curiosity, did you mill or grind a bend line in the sheet that you bent to make the front cross member?
I bought this as a U-Bend-It style cross member where they plasma cut out the shape and put cuts where bend line is leaving little 1/4" or less sections uncut. Then when you bend it the little tabs left uncut are easy to bend and keep the shape correct. That leaves you with a nice fillet weld to fill on the bend where the piece was cut. Makes it quick and easy! Cornfield Customs made this one but a bunch of places sell them. Mine cost me like $60-65 or something like that. Cheaper than my labor to make one from scratch.
If a trunk is needed, the "A" rear crossmember will intrude into the trunk area; the original works just fine with frame notches-- been there.
Kind of late on the comments but did you put that cross member in to accommodate caster.
Hi Bob, Yes I put a "middle of the road" caster in the front cross member (6-7 degrees) and then I adjust the final caster (if needed) when I modify the wishbones by pie cutting near the front axle. This is just the way that works for me although I'm sure there are many other ways to do it. Thanks for watching! -Matt/ITG
whats the name of the intro song ? , got it on the tip of my tongue .good job , nice to have the right tools
Not even sure! Haha we chose it from RUclips's licensed music gallery because it sounded cool!
@iron trap garage hey matt is that the tig 200? it has a pulse mode?!
Hey man. Yea it’s the Eastwood TIG 200 Digital. I run it with the 4T finger switch on pulse. It’s a bullet proof machine! -Matt/ITG
@@IronTrapGarage ah... gotcha... I have the plain ol' regular Tig 200. pretty sure it doesn't have pulse :-/ any way... love the videos dude. good to see old school hot rodding! keep em coming!
