A just ordered it yesterday and it comes today do you know if it will come with the latest firmware update or will I have to download the latest firmware I will be running the ps5 with it so I hope it has latest firmware update fingers crossed its straight forward lol
the weird thing for me with this monitor is that I have a weird fps drop when on high graphics fidelity (like when i move the camera around my character its hazy. not motion blur btw). it's the high quality graphics, ray tracing mode but with 30 pfs. but when I do performace mode, 60 fps and less graphics quality, the fps is just perfect. and yet some of my friends tell me they dont see ANY difference in fps if its either on performance mode or high quality fidelity... does that mean this screen can't handle it? so strange... I do have 144hz enabled and free sync off :(

Changing the response time to fastest is never a good thing, I mean you may not notice it so much on a ps5 but on the ufo test normally the 2nd or 3rd fastest option for response times shows better results

*The cable in the box is 2.0 I can make a whole video on it, just scroll down and you'll see. You have to separately buy another cable, the PS5 cable IS also 2.1*

But it won’t show my fps or let me set the picture mode. It still says 120hz but it’s greyed out. So, why excactly do you recommend it to be off? *I am not sure, for this model it's needed so I can only guess that it is for all models. If you can access 120fps+, then stick with 2.0 if you cannot then go for 2.1*
@@7kritankYes! I got a HDMI source to DisplayPort output cable in Amazon. The HDMI will not give you 120hz because it’s 2.0. You have to turn freesync on if I remember correctly. The cord should be for 1080p/120hz and should have a second USB power cord attached. I believe the brand cable I bought was BENFEI.

*Use the display port just to get the 160hz, for most people capped at 100hz it's about the HDMI cable being 2.0 vs 2.1. If you get one of those it'll increase the framerate to higher than 100hz*

I have the non curved 32 inch mode and when I go to test my 1440p resolution in the PlayStation settings, it tells me that 1440p could be displayed on my hdmi device. I did the exact same monitor settings, exact same steps, but no luck. Any help would be appreciated
Just got the Samsung G5 1440p 165hz monitor a couple hours ago to use with my PS5. All I’m trying to is run Warzone at 1440p at 120fps. My question is, do I have to update the monitors firmware to have the the PS5 show up at 120hz? The PS5 is showing me it’s outputting 1440p at 60hz and the monitor information is saying it’s outputting 60hz even though I’ve set the monitor to 120hz. (I’m using the PS5 included HDMI cable so I shouldn’t be having any issues) Really looking for help with this. Thanks!
@@SocialSophia Thanks! Quick question. Been dabbling around with the monitor settings for hours now. The motion blur or “ghosting/smearing” that I’m getting is horrendous. So noticeable that it’s affecting my game in a negative way. Is there anything at all I can do to fix it? After doing a lot of research since my last comment it seems that that’s something VA panel monitors can do. Really hoping I can find a fix or else I may just return it. The game feels amazingly smooth. But just smearing/ghosting like crazy during gunfights.

I’ve had an issue with this monitor on specific games, one being Fortnite. Using ps5 at 120hz on 1440, i will randomly get alot of white screen flashes. It happens every so often. Any idea or solution what this could be from?

On my 34" curved samsung odyssey its only 100hz in on the hdmi and 144hz in on the dpi, so i need the hdmi to dpi activ converter only sold on amazon or aliexpress.... 😵💫 Only dpi has vrr too....

*For the model that I have it was as simple as the video to get 120fps. If you watch my streams I actually even get 144fps all the time with certain games on PC. It says 144hz on the box, so not sure why it wouldn't be able to produce that*

@@SocialSophia your using the 32” g5 which is 2560 x 1440 but the 34” is 3440x1440 Resolution so maybe that makes a difference all I know is the 34” g5 says it only runs 100hz through hdmi hopefully I can get 120 tho

*That might be a defect, slightly darker is okay if HDR is on yet very dark might be something wrong with the monitor or settings. Try resetting the monitor.*
@@SocialSophia No it literally says in the manual what I typed out for the 34” model, I bought it thinking it would pass through 120hz through the HDMI port, only to read that it passes that high through the display port. Only the 27” and 32” can pass through up to 144hz through the hdmi port. The display is refresh rate is slightly higher on the 34”, so it must pass through the display port per Samsung. The manual has all three sizes of the g5 in it. I’m gonna send back the 34” and get the 32” I suppose. But then I lose the 21:9 AR, and stuck with 16:9.

I have the 27in and the brightness is awesome!! I have to turn it down sometime in a fully dark room

*Don't do that, unless your media supports it directly. Freesync isn't recommended. Just use 144hz*

*Use the display port just to get the 160hz, for most people capped at 100hz it's about the HDMI cable being 2.0 vs 2.1. If you get one of those it'll increase the framerate to higher than 100hz*

If i play on 60hz on ps5 it’s say is 4k and the colour look amazing but if i play on 120hz the ps5 change to 2k automatically and the screen looks more white and the colours didn’t look good like the 60hz how i can solve this problem

I have the non curved 32 inch mode and when I go to test my 1440p resolution in the PlayStation settings, it tells me that 1440p could be displayed on my hdmi device. I did the exact same monitor settings, exact same steps, but no luck. Any help would be appreciated

Just got the Samsung G5 1440p 165hz monitor a couple hours ago to use with my PS5. All I’m trying to is run Warzone at 1440p at 120fps.
My question is, do I have to update the monitors firmware to have the the PS5 show up at 120hz?
The PS5 is showing me it’s outputting 1440p at 60hz and the monitor information is saying it’s outputting 60hz even though I’ve set the monitor to 120hz.
(I’m using the PS5 included HDMI cable so I shouldn’t be having any issues)

Just realized that regardless of the PS5 video information setting reading the resolution at 60hz, inside warzone I’m getting 120fps. No issues there.

@@SocialSophia Thanks! Quick question. Been dabbling around with the monitor settings for hours now. The motion blur or “ghosting/smearing” that I’m getting is horrendous. So noticeable that it’s affecting my game in a negative way.
Is there anything at all I can do to fix it? After doing a lot of research since my last comment it seems that that’s something VA panel monitors can do. Really hoping I can find a fix or else I may just return it. The game feels amazingly smooth. But just smearing/ghosting like crazy during gunfights.

I’ve had an issue with this monitor on specific games, one being Fortnite. Using ps5 at 120hz on 1440, i will randomly get alot of white screen flashes. It happens every so often. Any idea or solution what this could be from?

*For the model that I have it was as simple as the video to get 120fps. If you watch my streams I actually even get 144fps all the time with certain games on PC. It says 144hz on the box, so not sure why it wouldn't be able to produce that*

No it literally says in the manual what I typed out for the 34” model, I bought it thinking it would pass through 120hz through the HDMI port, only to read that it passes that high through the display port. Only the 27” and 32” can pass through up to 144hz through the hdmi port. The display is refresh rate is slightly higher on the 34”, so it must pass through the display port per Samsung. The manual has all three sizes of the g5 in it. I’m gonna send back the 34” and get the 32” I suppose. But then I lose the 21:9 AR, and stuck with 16:9.
