Also my friend, for non cheaters and corner cutters, driving with a full set of wheel pedals shifter and handbrake is MASSIVELY faster... Now if your cheating and cutting corners to get top spots then you're a sad human being so I don't care...
Best tips from me (wheel user) , not just on wrc24 but most rally games. 1.All assists off 2. All osd off (use simhub if you want instruments) 3. Audio pace notes only 4. Disable the show wheel and hands option (this is another subconscious distraction)
This is awesome, 1500 hrs is mega! Very helpful tips for starters. I don't have 1500hrs, but played since the 98 colin mcrae rally. I agree with all, except that default setups do only work up to a point. In Dirt 2.0, I could win a championship on Elite with the default, but in EA WRC, I could not even beat 85% AI without making drastic changes. As a rule, I had to add ride height, stiffer springs, beefed up fast rebound and shorter gears if I wanted to have a hope in hell. But this channel has brilliant setup videos to attest to that :)
I have lots of hours in Dirt Rally 2 (still waiting for them to fix VR in EA WRC...) and setups are nice to give you an extra edge if you got stages completely memorized, played 100h in the same car and basically get the same stage time every time you drive. Then you can squeeze out another few second with a better setup.
@@MikeyyRS oh absolutely. It only makes sense to tune once you drive a stage without mistakes and get the same time consistently. Oh I just remembered I also use tunings to make RWD cars more easy to drive, as in I just look up a tuning online and copy it.
I fully agree on turning off the stage progression line as for me in career mode once I saw the line I tend to push too hard and crash a lot and since my custom WRC cars(builder) are mid/rear engine which makes them a little more tricky to drive. Once I turned off the line I am able to drive more chill and I could do better without crashing a lot

Hey whats up Mikeyy? First time seeing your vid. Subbed because I hear your passion. Would love to see you sink your teeth in some DR 2.0 w/ the any car any track mod some RBR or even other rally sims.
That makes me feel a lot better about not ever going into setups. I did a few times in DR2.0 and saw improvements but it's just a hassle I don't want to deal with so I drive around whatever the car does. Do you have any advice for getting used to the Rally1 cars? None of the hybrid settings I tried made the thing feel driveable. Right when you try to use power to turn or straighten or anything the hybrid suddenly kicks in and slides you off the road. Or blipping the throttle through the corner wastes your boost for the straight. I stopped doing any Rally1 races in Career and fell fully in love with the game so if your advice is "Don't drive the Rally1" I'm good with that.
Rally1 is a fine art, that boost kicking in ,in turns is a pain, my advice and what I do is to not waste the boost in a corner is essentially to over rotate the car so on the apex of the corner you want to be straight or as close to straight as you can, be patient with the throttle application. So when you get on the power and the boost kicks in it will push you straight out the corner rather than causing understeer or oversteer. They are tricky to get right but once you find yourself being patient with the car and working with its bad points it should come together. Patients is key with rally1.
@@MikeyyRS I'll give it another few tries in something low stakes for my stress level. I definitely drive less drifty most of the time so that advice makes sense, I've just got the car pointed wrong
it's funny when you said have all your assist off I was like nooooo dam this will be hard had the game for a week and thought it was really bad handling but not to my knowledge I already had all my assists off but traction control was on 1 so I was pretty much there from the start now I fill way better about the game lol and all that screen stuff being on there I only look at the length meter but yeah I'll be definitely turning everything off thanks for the great tips mind u I'm on a controller an my series x and controllers aren't for me on racing games when I get a good rig I'm definitely getting a good weel. I'm subscribing to your channel thanks again
Controller is hard, but not impossible. I only Turn everything off because i have such a short attention span anything that can distract me will distract me
On tarmac you want to apply a trail breaking method similar to what you would in track racing, the slower you get the less pressure you should apply, also try to keep the wheels straight under braking massive movements on the wheel will just cause the wheels lock and massive amounts of understeer
Unless you're very good, a certain amount of assist is necessary with controller, especially ABS. Stability control is good to compensate for the inherently more aggressive steering inputs, but unlike forza, you can actually tune out the need for TC so that's good.
Appreciate the video. I still haven't quite figured out how track deg works. Ive followed WRC for the first time this year bc of the game and irl the road position is absolutely massive. Is track deg something static for an event or does it very with road position? If it does vary with road position, is it like in real life where asphalt gets worse as more dirt is thrown on it while gravel and snow get better as the drivers create a clean line?
It's so so mate, for club event your the only one running at that time so it doesn't change, And i can't speak for offline events as i don't do any as career mode is boring. Probably not the answer you expected, but the track deg is normally selected before the event so i would just imagine its static.
@@MikeyyRS Thanks for the response mate. I doubt Codies put the effort in to make it dynamic in offline then. I get not enjoying career if youre very good at the game, to me it's amazing because it's my first rally title after 4k hours of circuit racing so I just put it on highest diff no restarts and am trying to have an organic career of improving through the ranks as I learn how to not wrap around every tree :D
Hello Mikey, I just bought this game for 10 USD last steam sale.. i come from the mainline dirt rally series and WRC games. Just wanna ask if there are differences between Summer, Autumn, Spring and Winter in terms of surface degradation or surface grip? I play rally games for leisure so i usually avoid slippery weather conditions. Thanks for the advice.
Winter has less grip than the other 3, but it is mainly just seasonal changes. And the deg is normally selected at whatever you want both an event. Can be set from low to max
