yeah, speaks volumes how fuckin arcady this shit game is, dirt was better at EVERYTHING, only the stages sucked and tarmac was like ice. They fixed the tarmac by making it feel like driving a gokart on slicks, fuck EA man, they butchered this game....
Absolutely love it. Ollie is my favorite driver and can't wait to see him at WRC1 level again, whatever that entails in the coming years. Hopefully we will get something that we all deserve, whether we are fans, drivers or manufacturers!

@@DirtFish Top 30 is very impressive when you consider he's not cheating or doing some huge cuts that exploit the game mechanics like time trialers do... sorry EA but there are a lot of cheaters in the game... in club races always see 1 or 2 people that run a whole rally in top of the leaderboards time trial times without ever making a mistake...
That's bullshit... not even real life rally masters can run a whole 8-9 stage rally without making a single mistake while going full throttle the whole time...
The real guys that don't cheat start at around 10-15 seconds behind...
I'm a really good driver up to WRC 2 and I can get to the top 30-50 in most short/mid stages (without cutting corners btw) but I'm sure EA has the same problem that F1 games have with cheaters online... it's really pathetic when you cheat in games but it is what it is... at some point you know that you're at the limit and yet you're still 30 seconds behind... if it was 5 or 10 I'd be ok with it...but 30 seconds in a 9km stage when I'm at full throttle almost the whole time??? Come on... nobody's THAT fast THAT consistently...

Such a cool video. Getting to see two of the best rally drivers play this game and comment on it's realism speaks to the gameplay quality. I gotta upgrade my set up before I can try it, but I'm very much looking forward to it.

Hey man I started playing this game with an Xbox remote. And even then it feels really good. The feedback in the remote is quite impressive and a step up from dirt rally 2. I got a logitech 920 for xmas and it certainly is better! But I wouldn't pass up on the game if you're limited by your set up! its too good 🙂

Kudos to Petter for not using chase cam! Cockpit cam would have been even better considering the wheel setup.
they've previously states that because of the lack of G-force 3rd person gives them a better sense of speed andi info as to what the cars doing
On the Escort part Oliver using Cockpit cam. I think that's what he actually uses.

@@AmbientMike I want EA to make a multiplayer option that makes cockpit cam mandatory... but it's ok... I know that in most big multiplayer clubs the top racers are pure cheaters that run the whole rally at top tier time trial times without a single mistake... yeaaaaah... that's cheating... nobody can make perfect time trial runs over and over without a single mistake...

@@i1cey his announcement is coming soon, I don’t think he will drive Rally1 next year due to Hyundai and Toyota already having their lineups and M-Sport having a rival sponsor (Red Bull) so I think it would be cool for him to sign with Toyota and drive the Rally2 Yaris

Ireland might be coming back to the WRC calendar in 2025, so there's some hope for the future.

On the exact same Stage in Sweden, im driving on Xbox Controller, my fastest time is 3 min 54 sec.
And I was thinking, I'm on the complete limit.
This is just ridiculous in a good way.
I don't see, that I can even go under 3 minutes on that stage.
Rally drivers are different
This is how I feel every time I watch pros play and when I look at the leaderboards. I play with controller too and I feel like I'm at the limit. Don't see how it's possible to go any faster.

Its just difficult and we are making the best out of it.

I'm glad to see he switched camera to hood. I don't know how these kids do rally from chase cam perspective. You miss a lot of the view directly in front of the car.

I just can’t stand the saturation of the snow.
On my screen, it’s impossible to see where the road goes. I can’t tell where the edge of the track begins and where the track ends.
I have tried in game-brightness, and monitor setting-brightness to no avail.

It's not saturation but exosure which is tuned badly on many stages, if it is done by stage at all.
That said, you can kinda fix it. I'll upload a ReShade preset to Nexusmods to improve exposure. ReShade is safe to use on WRC. :)
but can they do it at a snowy tuesday evening with the king of the simulations Richard Burns Rally? :D

@@n0body550 it's not certain that he plays on a potato... the game does bug out for some odd reason for some users... however I'm pretty sure that there are a lot of "haters" who just say it's a buggy mess just because they hate the fact that the game is good... mainly RBR stans who don't want any game to make them lose their snobby attitude telling everyone else that they're playing "arcade trash for kids" while they play "real rally for real men" and other bullshit like that...
But whatever... the game is really really REALLY good and the driving physics are extremely realistic for how rally cars typically respond
Game is a lot of fun. I don't have performance issues but for whatever reason It sometimes lose focus with multi display setup. Good thing they patched that the game pauses when that happens, but you still lose the rhytm when you are driving which is sometimes fatal@@nikosfotidas8543

great game but not perfect, a mix of arcade and simulation in a good balance, but there are some problems with physics and dameges like punctured tyres without a sense
I would be happy if they fixed the tearing on PS5. Some stages are totally fine but others are really terrible. This game is surely not getting the no man's sky treatment though. Rather we will have to buy WRC 2024.

I just wish I didnt have to spend like 2000 Euros for a new PC and a proper Sim wheel to actually enjoy it properly.
And even with those costs, it's still a lot cheaper than doing it in real life. So there's that.
You don't. I SIM with a 1050 ti on an old dell with a t300. The whole setup is around $400
Even with a 2000 euro PC it still runs awful compared to DR2.0.

Yeah I want to buy it since it's on sale but seeing all the issues right now put me off.
I'm sticking with DR2.0. Switching to unreal engine was a huge mistake and if this is the way the series stays then I consider it over.

EA WRC is an arcade game. Keep looking if you want something more challenging. Love solbergs though!
Arcade ≠ easy. Even though it's not a 100% sim (surprise, surprise neither is RBR) it can still be challenging at times.
It's not need for speed though is it. It's a game. And it's alot of fun to play (for me at least) I don't understand all the negativity about it. The performance has been a Problem and should be criticised but I think the game itself is really good ! I felt the same about the KT WRC games. So much fun to play! Not a full on simulator but they haven't claimed to be.
