Well medal-medalcore really is the only genre that I listen to from Artists all over the world!. I LOVE bands from Australia,Canada, France,UK,sweden,germany,Japan, even China has bands now.and listen to even more bands from more countries! Its wild. WAP is actually incredibly metal, but more in the Black Metal sense that it's intentionally aggravating and clearly meant to piss people off and make them go: "That's not music!".
Also punk in that sense. It’s a big fuck you, I’ll do what I want. I’m a fan of the song. It’s just as vulgar as the shit I listen to normally. Doesn’t matter if it doesn’t align with your typical genres. Music is music.

I didn’t think a riff for WAP wouldn’t sound good, but damn I was wrong. That was probably my favorite.
Qveen Herby's version of WAP would have been a pretty solid foundation for Nik to work with, imo, moreso than the original.

@@LucasBozovich thanks a lot man :) I have indeed followed the free crash course provided by David from Riffshop (I don't attend the paid academy tho) and I can say I've surely learned a whole lot. I was surprised at the fact that I could hold a pretty nice, discretely loud fry scream for long enough without feeling any pain, which was what occurred when I used to practice it the wrong way. False cords are still hard af though. I'll keep practicing until I make some relevant progress, eventually :) thanks again and greetings from Italy

@@TheSVERguy Pop formulas for choruses and melodies have been used pretty much since the inception of bands like The Beatles and The Beach Boys in basically every mainstream genre. People only seem to have an issue with it when the artist involved is using auto-tune or 'current pop' tropes but metalcore and post-hardcore took from pop more than any other genre I can think of, besides indie rock maybe.
Nothing wrong with it though, it's a proven formula that works across a whole range of different genres.

Neil Mark haha, I mean as far as shred goes, I've never heard someone do a 7 string sweep but I do know of players adding the 7th to chords for extra range, but I believe it is possible for you to tune your 6 string down to this tuning, it would simply be F#,C#,F#,B,E,G# and you would need a near-insane gauge of strings to handle the drop, I just got a pack of ernie ball mammoth slinky with a .62 for the low E string so we will see how that handles
