@FND I'm referring to twitch banning/suspending Herman Li on twitch because of DMCA and he was playing DragonForce. Matt Heafy from Trivium also got a DMCA for playing his own music on stream too. Honestly record labels need to do a better job at making more robust and smarter bots for music detection that don't DMCA artists for playing their own music as a lot of artists are streaming on Twitch and RUclips now since touring has grinded to a halt. All they are concerned about is making a quick buck and or shutting down people for playing their music when they don't. This is all too familiar to the situation gamers had as they dealt with Nintendo copystriking videos that had their content in it for years because of their backwards practices. Now sadly we are seeing it with the music industry in full swing on RUclips and Twitch as they have not caught up to current times and are still stuck in their backwards ways. *Edit* I get that it is their intellectual property that they have the copyright to and they can do what they want with it. They want to make money off their artists songs to survive especially with covid and nobody being able to tour and I get that but there should still be some way to use the music in a stream. I don't come to a stream to listen to a certain persons music but for the streamer and if I hear a song I like on the stream I download it on Apple Music (my streaming service of choice) and listen to it. I believe people should be able to play the music on their streams but there is no easy solution to the problem and probably no way to compromise with record labels. Just my opinion. Thank you for coming to my ted talk.
@@abraham2721 Nah the DMCA was from him playing his own music on stream and now he streams on RUclips instead of twitch. Idk if he will go back twitch. That is only for Herman decide.
@@gregziel A lot of it is to do with how record labels changed the way they did business in the late 90s and early 2000s because of Napster and iTunes. Back in the day, record labels made most of the money from record sales, and the band made most of the money from tours with the label getting little, if any. When iTunes and Napster came along, record labels started making less money from record sales so they started locking artists into contracts where the record company took almost ALL of the money from both records and touring. This is why even insanely successful artists like TLC, NSYNC, Backstreet Boys and more were all virtually bankrupt despite selling millions. It's also why solo artists are more common than bands now, because the record companies don't have to pay as many people. After a bunch of high profile examples of bands quitting their labels and suing their managers, the record labels relented a bit, but when Spotify and streaming services became the norm, they started tightening the noose again. To the record labels and the music streaming services, the artists are simply a cog in the money machine that can easily be replaced. Copyright laws are not designed to protect the artists, but to protect the financial interests of the labels and publishing companies. Dragonforce being copyright claimed for playing their own music is not a glitch in the system. It is intentional so that the labels can control when and where their music is played. Twitch is not the one to blame for this, as historically they have been one of the more permissive platforms, but the record labels have not liked that, so they are suing the shit out of Twitch until Twitch bans all people using copyrighted content - hence the current situation. RUclips on the other hand has played by the rules of the record labels for the most part, so they are allowed a bit more leeway to manage the situation themselves.
@@BambiTrout Ah gotcha still wish there was a solution to be able to play music but I guess not. Only think I could think of would be something similar to watch parties that is a twitch extension where you can sync up music through your spotify/tida/apple music/etc... accounts to listen along with the streamers and essentially use your account to sync up with the streamer to the song they are listening to but who knows if that would ever happen. Just food for thought kinda idea to get the same result so the music never has to go on the twitch recording. But at this point it's whatever. it is what it is.

Thank you for coming to my ted talk.
was that the reason he got suspended? thats fucked up man...
I thought it was Sam's fault somehow
Gotta love how Herman Li is getting all hyped up and Tim and Tosin are just there standing and playing
Can’t believe I’m just seeing this now, so many things colliding!
-Through the fire and flames was one of the first songs that opened my eyes to hearing how crazy someone could shred
- Polyphia was the first prog rock band I really vibed with when I started listening to the genre (shout out to Chon too)
- Tosin is probably my favorite guitarist and AAL is one of my fave bands!
So crazy to see these dudes all shredding on one screen!
DragonForce and Friends. Sounds like a franchise
Sounds like something I would get up early to watch on Saturday Mornings....

Seemingly made Tim more uncomfortable than he already was hah. We've all experienced that situation though.
What's weird is that I didn't see anyone comment it in the live chat💀.
I absolutely love how Herman Li brings it like he's performing on stage. Also the fact that he embraces so many killer players. LOVE THIS!

"You guys have been absolutely awesome man"
"Thanks dad"
Herman Li is still such a showman even when just playing in his house on stream. i love it, dragon force has been such a bit part of my life just shredding to this song. the passion thats burned through these rifts and others like it ill never forget. thank you Herman you fking legend.
Ok, can we just give a little credit to the fucking guitar kickflip at the start? Herman is a beast.
Say what you like about the guy.. he’s one of those dudes that’s just born to be a guitar shredder! And performer.
It feels weird now to watch Herman playing this song live along ZP's vocals track.
And with shoes on!
@@honza5798 it's better than them re-recording the track so that ZP isn't on the payroll like other bands have done.
Noob here, explanation pls?? I just discovered dragonforce... :c
@@juanfernandofernandez2730 Zp Theart was the original singer, the singer you hear on Through the Fire and Flames. He left the band and was replaced by Marc. People always compare them even though they are so different. Marc is more typical Power Metal sounding, but ZP had some uniqueness and unreal stage presence. The main problem people highlight was ZP started to sound very ‘tired’ in the latter part of his time with Dragonforce.
@@skid544 thanks
tosin has no idea when to come in lol
@njl4515 totally
@njl4515 yeah you could tell they were a bit out their element. Regardless they did better than what 99.99% guitarists could have done.
@@TrentonF505 yeah this isn't really their style of music(not that they can't obviously but they're style is a bit different)
Pretty sure Tim plays guitar hero, so he knows the song decently.
I didnt hear any promlems with the other guy. I had trouble telling tosins playing apart from the others before his solo part, which is when he seemed to miraculously pull himself together, and instantaniously just start slaughtering the song. Tldr: tosin probly had trouble hearing himself
The bass is mixed into the track very nicely. Its very clear.
no one can hear the bass and that's a fact!!
Yups can clearly hear em
I can hear the bass clearly through my phone speaker.

It’s finally canon that the title is Through The Fire And THE Flames

I’ll still always just call it TTFAF! 🤘🏼
Just wanna give props as a fellow bass player to Alicia for setting an amazing groove throughout the whole song :)
Yes!! And I also feel bad she wasn't in the whole middle frame. But yeah, props to her! Without her there, the live music won't be balanced.

The bassist (Alicia) should have been included in the wide angle cam.
Salute to you, Sir Herman for bringing together amazing talents together.

I seriously hope they offer Alicia the job, and I hope she takes it. She kicks ass and seems to be a genuinely cool person.
She's cool as fuck, but I always wished Adrian would come back, he was the most madman bassist they had, the unmastered Inhuman Rampage's uncut and louder basslines are great.

Tim looks so defeated and it’s funny and sad at the same time. Love that kid. Literally all of my guitar idols all together doing this is epic
Every so often I find this video again, and it encourages me to practice harder then I have before
I can imagine how uncomfortable it must've been for Tosin to groove to 4/4
You know this is a difficult song when Herman Li, the author doesn't do it exactly as it is every time. Still, he doesn't have to. He's able to improvise on it and still make it sound just as phenomenal, if not better.
When you play a song the same way for so long you have to start changing it up a bit to make things fresh again and to still have fun with it. I'll change up strum patterns or melodies in stuff I sing all the time.
