    I’ve been watching all the series of this 911 rebuild. The meticulous details that you render are outstanding including the measure on the stretch of the stud while torquing. Outstanding detailing & it’s a pleasure to listen , watch & understand. I only have a small suggestion, please use a wooden pallet under the Weber when you work on it, so that you could avoid any untoward scratches on the mating flange surface. I am in awe of you & your work hence this humble suggestion from my end. Precision watch makers would recalibrate themselves watching you work. I bow down with respect for you. Thanks a million.

    Another great video. You appear to be doing stock mods to bump up performance. Higher compression ratio, hotter custom cam, more air/fuel. It is the best way to get the power your want while maintaining the cars original character. If you really want to get the most out of your mods, you may want to consider port-matching and polishing your intake manifold. The new cam and increased air/fuel would significantly benefit from this mod. (especially with those high flow venturi) All the mods you're doing all come down to the intake manifold, which could end up being the choke point which limits the effectiveness of your upgrades. It's a little scary to do, but there is a lot of instruction how out there.

    • @kavs911
      @kavs911  4 года назад +1

      I did think about that but as this is the matching numbers engine I thought I'd try nothing that can't be undone and go back to stock.

    • @danielprivate7442
      @danielprivate7442 4 года назад +2

      That's a very good reason to not do the port-matching. I don't know how good Porsche's castings were, but before you slap on the manifold, look inside and see if there are casting ridges or if the surface is highly textured. Smoothing down imperfections with a Dremel and sandpaper can't hurt and is by no means a drastic alteration like port-matching is. Looking forward to your next vid.

    Got a 66 911. Any advice on popping and clicking in the low to mid range?
    Worse when cold and in traffic, fine at idle and on the freeway.
    Also suffering from a bog and stall after waiting at stoplights.
    I try to pick up the idle early,rev it a few times but it's stumbling and flames out.
    Then it's a pain to start and flooded.
    This is worse when cold and gets better sometimes when warm but it can happen anytime.
    In fact any time you stomp the throttle it may flame out.
    Still has a coil and a mechanic suggests MSD.
    The rear trailing arm bushings are worn and squeaking and doesn't seem to be an ez fix.
    It's sweet and livable in the mountains and freeways but falls on it's face in the real world.
    Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
    I gave you a subscribe if that's worth something 😜.

    I know it would remove authenticity but for that amount of work and expense, I would have fitted aftermarket fuel injection while retaining nearly the same appearance, along with electronic spark control, and made it a far better car to drive, as well as less polluting. Another benefit will be reduced maintenance and greater engine longevity because of more accurate metering of fuel. As much as Webers were the duck's nuts in their day, that was then.

    You keep saying chokes in place of venturies. A choke is a device that restricts the air flow into the carb causing a rich condition. It is used when the engine is cold and then opens up as the engine warms up. A venturi is a double tapered cylinder with no moving parts that increases the velocity of of the fluid passing through it creating a low pressure area after the narrow point. This is used in a carb to pull the fuel into the air flow creating the air/fuel mixture.

    • @kavs911
      @kavs911  4 года назад +2

      I'm saying both as some folks call them venturi others choke.

    • @praetorious
      @praetorious 4 года назад

      The constricted section of the tube in the venturi system is called the choke. 'Choke' has been used to refer to both the section of tubing, and the enrichment device. ZS named the carburettors 150, 175 etc for the size of the fixed choke tube design, 1.5 inches or 1.75 inches in diameter.

I find myself constantly adjusting the volume or just muting and missing half of what you're saying.
