    Demon King!? Secret Stone?!

  • @TheKingofkrypton
    @TheKingofkrypton 4 месяца назад +1

Could be the circle design in the altar of the lightning armor set references a form of a power source that's housed by the outside of the secret stones that we see, which could explain why its map design has that image within it. The core of the secret stones may be like Marvel's Infinity Stones, in that mortals and/or weaker beings require something to hold it to prevent being torn apart by the raw power of the core.

A very good breakdown of these relics and how they work. As a fellow creator who has done videos on them and what they do, I have a couple of things to add.
Each Race seems to have a base power that is being amplified by the stone, and TotK has NPCs who mention the powers of those races. There is the Rito, Ornest, and his ball catching Mini-game who states that All Rito have the power of wind, and that is how they fly, by generating and manipulating the air. Sidon's Tablets speaks of his awakening of the power of Water, and how all Zora have it. The Gorons are birthed from the mountain, as explained by the two elderly Gorons, and while not explicitly stated, it seems safe to assume this gives Gorons the power of Fire. Finally, when Zelda speaks to the Ancient Sage of the Gerudo, she refers to them as having the power of Lightning.
Following this logic, given what we see from the Zelda and Sonia, it could very well be that Hylians... the people of Hylia, have the power of Time in them. If Hylia is a Time Goddess, which I strongly believe she is, then her people having some power of Time makes sense. This could explain Link's Flurry Rush and Time Slowing capability, and why the Royal Guard Equipment give a bonus to those effects, because they were designed to specifically aid Hylians and their innate powers.
As for the orb of light that appears for LInk, I believe that happened immediately following him gaining Zelda's Time Powers. I think, when she was changing into the Light Dragon, she splintered her Time Powers off and left them there specifically for Link, that way she would become a Light Dragon and not a Time Dragon. When Link takes those powers, more than just a fraction like with the other sages, but all of them for himself at the Temple of Time, it is then that the Orb appears. It could also be the Master Sword indirectly helping, as it might know where it needs to go... It really isn't clear.
Back to innate elemental power, the Zonai could very well have the Innate power of Spirit, as suggested by MIneru. As for LIght and Dark, that is unclear as they seem to both be outliers. I think the Male of the Gerudo may, for some reason (Probably the Hatred Incarnate), always have the power of Darkness. It could be that the males of the Zonai, may have the power of Light. This is all unclear and raw speculation.

The word 'navel' comes from PIE relatd to Sanskrit 'nabhi', meaning center, and is an essential part of Buddhism, Japan's "death" religion as opposed to Shinto traditions used with respect to "life". That's the navel Yunobo represents with magatama in his belt. Somebody may fill me in the signifagance but other such parts are eyes, ears, arms, kneels, ankles and heels, in feng shui or some kind of pressure point mythology.
The use of magatama here is in conjunction with the Japanese Hoju, a jewel that is created in the brain of a Dragon. It's a lot like the power of Wind Fish to create actual worlds in its dreams, it's some kind of a parallel to the World Serpent in many mythologies.

I've always thought that Zelda travelled back in time in the first place because she was panicking. The Secret Stone had just awoken her Time powers but she didn't know it yet, but at that moment she was falling into a chasm and was probably thinking something like "I need to be somewhere else", and the Secret Stone responded to that thought and took her someplace else: tens of thousands of years into the past. And barring interference from a divine outside source (the yet-unnamed Goddess of Time who may or may not be Hylia), and given the closed time loop/predestination paradox that is the Hyrulean timeline in TotK, it might *not* be that Zelda was specifically *sent* to that point in time, rather that's just where she happened to come out of the time stream, and from that point on, history was "altered" by her presence ("altered" in quotes because Hyrule's history happened the way it did *because of* Zelda's presence in the past, she was *always* going to travel to the past but *where* she landed could have just been a coincidence that then set Hyrule on its fated course). The Master Sword is stated in OoT to be capable of itself traversing time, and both BotW and TotK show us that Fi is still in the Master Sword, capable of interacting with the outside world by speaking to Zelda, so the Master Sword itself is conscious and could have been aware of what she needed to do to be restored (and Zelda directly acknowledges this in Memory #15, repeating what the Master Sword said to her: "You traveled through time to find me and recover your strength.")
The Secret Stones are also described by Mineru as being "treasures from the gods" (Memory 14, The Imprisoning War). So they were presumably created by the gods and then entrusted to the Zonai, who were thought to be "descendants of gods". Or was it that the Zonai *were* who the ancient Hyruleans were referring to when they spoke of "gods"? The Stormwind Ark song directly refers to a Zonai who fell from the sky as a "god". Or the Zonai created the Secret Stones as a way to elevate themselves to near-godly status/power and became known as descendants of gods *that* way, because of the power the Secret Stones granted them, and maybe draconification functions the way it does because it's a divine punishment from the real gods. Mortals attempting to reach the same level as the real gods are punished with a mindless, eternal existence, in the form of a creature they regard as divine (we learn from the Horned Statue that Hylia dishes out punishments to entities that get on her bad side). The dragon iconography all over Zonai architecture is the same form that dragons resulting from draconification take, so now the question is: did the dragon iconography come first, and the draconification-dragon forms are based on that iconography as part of the irony? Or was the dragon iconography based on the first dragon that emerged when the first Zonai underwent draconification (and it had to have been a Zonai because they were the only ones who had access to the Secret Stones)? Were the Frostbite, Ember, and Charged sets clothing worn by the Zonai who became Dinraal, Naydra, and Farosh, and their horns are based on the headpieces of those sets, or were those sets created *after* their draconification as a way for other Zonai to honor their sacrifice, and the horns are patterned after the horns of the dragons that emerged?

We know from Mineru's explanation of the mural that the Zonai were said to be gods descended from the sky. So that's not confirmation, since she's may only be talking about what is told about them by the hylians. She does specifically say, however, that the secret stones are from the gods

The set you get after doing all the shrines, that’s links transformation.
I haven’t seen anyone suggest that is links transformation through the zonai blessings that you collect at the shrines. Why doesn’t anyone consider Rauru is already in that said form? We watched Gannondorf get his hands on Sonia stone and immediately transform into his more draconian form the Demon king. I think he’s safe to assume that once you reach a point with the secret stones you can transform “amplify” your natural state without losing yourself like the rushed style of just infesting the stone.

Theres 3 things that I think you missed:
●Zelda went to the other 5 Sages after after meeting with Mineru, telling the Sages to prepare their respective races to prepare for what lies ahead thousands of years later.
●If Dinraal, Farosh and Naydra really were created by draconification, wouldn't that imply that there are 10 Secret Stones?
●Somehow I think Ganondorf knows more about what happened to the Zonai than what he letting on, especially considering that it's Ganondorf that revealed that the Zonai were a species seemingly on the very edge of extinction.

My theory is that there was a Great Dragon War that happened at some undisclosed time in the past. A bunch of Zonai turning into dragons and fighting amongst themselves or unknown enemy for power, and they were all wiped out. That’s why dragon bones are everywhere, that’s why Ganondorf knows about draconification, and where most of the Zonai went

  • @yugotuber

The stone relic depicts Rauru and seven stones, offering no clues about the origins of the Zonai in Hyrule, the total number of stones, or their origin.
There likely were more than seven stones, as the three alleged draconified Zonai existed, suggesting additional stones. However, with limited evidence, all theories remain speculative.
I believe the secret stones were manufactured, possibly from purified Zonaite. Constructs in the game lore demonstrate advanced mining and refining techniques, producing increasingly powerful charges and crystallized charges. This implies that the Zonai created constructs, which eventually forged the secret stones. It’s plausible that every Zonai possessed a secret stone.
The Zonai's extensive mining of Zonaite supports this idea. Zonaite enables the creation of various materials, showcasing its godlike properties. Its green hue might link it to the goddess Farore, who created all living beings and is associated with the color green.
As for the Zonai civilization's fate, it's crucial to understand that they were mortal descendants of gods. They likely sought immortality and a return to their celestial origins. This origin might be outside Hyrule, possibly in the heavens, another plane of existence, space, another planet, or the moon. Zonai monuments and the low gravity on some floating islands suggest a lunar connection. I also believe the Zonai race was inspired by the Japanese folktale "Taketori Monogatari."
The Zonai's quest for immortality possibly involved two methods: creating constructs like Mineru’s to house spirits, and the forbidden act of draconification. The prohibition of draconification implies severe consequences beyond memory loss, possibly leading to dragon wars, as evidenced by numerous dragon bones and skeletons found which suggest they killed each other or that some Zonai members were prone to darkness like Ganondorf and became demon dragons.
As the saying goes, "History doesn't repeat itself, but it rhymes."

Do we explicitly _know_ that the Zonai come "from the Heavens" as Ganondorf suggested in the A Show of Fealty memory? According to Zeldatuber Lorulean Historian it's possible the Zonai did not actually come from the Heavens but rather the surface world where their advanced technology allowed them to ascend floating islands into the skies above Hyrule where their civilization would prosper before returning to the surface world giving the impression of them been literal "gods". The evidence is still rather ambiguous to make a certain conclusion as to their origins making me skeptical of the possibility they are indeed god-like beings.

It is interesting to note that the Japanese text specifically says the Secret Stones *double* ones power
I am wondering if Ganondorf got his Power truly doubled.
Because if Double of his Power means turning all of Creation into literal Hell, I don't wanna know how devistating he would be with just half of that.
Maybe there is also a hidden Factor that either somehow adds up into two or that is one that just grows exponentially under specific circumstances, it might be possible that not even the Zonai were aware of this.
Afterall Mineru didnt even know that Dragonification is reversable in the first place since it never happened before, so it might be possible that even they just have limited ammount of Knowledge.

The whole plot line is Zelda dying and evoking a Save State to prevent that. It doesn't strictly speaking actually happen.
Imagine you open up a game that's running, for a myriad of years already, and happen to load a save when a boss rushes you. That's what Hylia did when Zelda fell, it was a lot like first picking Master Sword up in OoT. Master Sword returning was Zelda figuring out a way to put Master Sword down, like in OoT, but Zelda doesn't actually "time travel" the same way Link has that perception of time while playing OoT.
Zelda cast a global Recall when she fell, that's why she "time traveled", because the world around her regressed. Upheaval is an effect of that. At that point in time TotK world is simply an eradicated world, the mistake you can't put up with when you load a Save State, the easy way out of a game. The narrative of the game is that ZELDA'S legend is to grieve for this loss. Becoming dragonified is for her like hunkering down and beating Dark Souls, but Link is like an invader, already a hollow. It's a double of the entire world, no more, no less.
In this game Link is dead, or not alive, because he's not IN the living world which TotK doesn't take place in. He's like a ghost in Sixth Sense, or somebody in Langoliers. Zelda has to channel power through Master Sword in her brain to reverse that, it's like she is imagining Link back into existence. Link is inspired by Peter Pan, who finds his shadow and gets it sewn right onto his feet, to be real, to be able to cast a shadow.

Perhaps each dragon is a former incarnation of the hero, since in twilight princess Link could interact with a former hero. Kinda would explain why the sets of armor were left around the world. Had to make sure but the theory is the ancient aspect armor is a member of the lomei race. They inhabited the depths and built the three labyrinths. The aspect armor also looks similar to the armor of the depths in the sense that it was built for the lomei. Each of the dragons had a triforce symbol on their backs. Previous incarnations of the hero also had the symbol of the triforce on their left hand. I dont need to compare facial features, in previous games like LTTP and LBW had mirrored versions of hylians. The lomei would therefore be a mirrored version of the zonai.
