  • During our visit to the Early Ford V8 Museum, Josh the curator mentioned they had cars scattered all over the country that were donated to the museum. One of those cars was located about an hour from us in Lancaster, PA. While visiting Matt found a car to find in the area to buy, so we struck a deal to bring the 1938 Ford to them!! Be sure to check back on Sunday to see what we bought!!

Love that it's going to a Museum that is actually going to drive it and show it.

To the gentleman and his wife who was kind enough to donate the vehicle to the museum - well done!

My first car was a '38 Standard Coupe. I was for sure the coolest 15 year old in 1973 in my hometown, for a minute anyway.

Thanks for the vote of confidence Drew! But Matt may just break with tradition and go with the Turquoise sedan? It really makes me glad to see what Matt has done with that beautiful shop. @@drewdaskievige754

Thanks guys for transporting the 38 for the foundation. What ever you bought will be great because they have nothing that isn't. Thanks for the video, hope to see you at Gilmore's next weekend

I live in the midwest, and every year, I look forward to all the road trips taking me to some small town early in the morning to settle in for a good dirty, on the ground auction. There hasn't been very many live auctions this year. At least I have this channel to allow me some road time every week or so

I do love the front end treatment on the 38 Standard. But I'm pretty partial to my 39 Standard coupe. Just got it back in February and couldn't be happier.

Nice car! I've got pictures of my Dad's 1938 Ford coupe from the 1940's that he did minor customizing on and hot rodded. Before he died in his 90's I took him to a car show to see a black 1938 coupe and he was so glad to see one like he had. Before WW2 he hot rodded Model A's. Lefty

Love the 38 Standards. There was a discussion on Fordbarn the other day about early and late cars where it was offered up that early production had painted windshield frames and no stainless strips on the grill. I like the way the rear fenders jut out from the slope of the rear deck too where the 39 is more integral ( but I love the look of the 39 Dlx cpe).

Probably because many people disliked the 38 DeLuxe and bought Standards instead, so Ford decided to dress the Standards up a little.

I figure the car you went home with is the '32 Coupe. The '37 is a dream! Lowered tastefully and skirted would be awesome. I like how the owner used period bullet housings for the rear directional lamps.

No idea what you bought, but you will have fun with it!
And, while I agree that some rare cars need to go into museums as all original, the person who owns the car gets to make the decisions!

Nice video! Glad to hear that museums are out there to keep old vehicles out there in the public eye and not just warehoused. Maybe the car that you will bring home will be the little turquoise colored one. It seems like your prefer black and "patina" ones, why not go a little wild and go for the fun little turquoise one, she is really cute, but not overly flashy!

Beg to differ- 38 was the year Henry shut down production because it sold so poorly. Least desirable model in my book. FYI- I have two 40 Ford standards.

32 fords were also a failure if you judge it by sales figures.. doesn’t mean they aren’t beautiful or desirable!

I'm going to guess a late 30s/ early 40s Ford that was donated, but is a little too rough for the museum. Needs someone with good welding/metal fabrication skills...
