There is something special about your videos. Different from the rest. Talkovers excellent combined with your beautiful photos. Yours has been a superb trip. Very much enjoyed. Thank you.
Thank you very much for your kind words and support , we loved the trip and we love Spain so we’ll be back later on in the year . Thanks for watching our best wishes to you and yours Helen and Martin
Enjoyed seeing the video, we were with Ian and Lynz on the trip our first time abroad in our camper. Haro was great and the bike ride was superb. Lynz is The Navigator! One of many cycle routes she found in Spain
Good morning , there is so much to do and see in Spain isn't there. It's a place that makes us smile all the time and like yourself we loved that route . We'll be back again towards the end of year when we have accrued enough days . Thanks ever so much for watching happy travels Helen and Martin
Another wonderful video. Your love of Spain is absolutely infectious. The Haro \ Rioja region looks very beautiful and a fascinating area with the statues and sculptures being a highlight. Oh, apart from the wine of course. Amazing to watch you loading on to that ferry. It’s huge! Didn’t realise that they were that big! The Sunrise shots were just stunning Martin. And the final video clip so beautiful. You guys had an incredible trip and we could feel your mood as you left. Anticipation for home and family but tinged with sadness of what you had left behind. We’re very much looking forward to our Spanish trip in the New Year and you’ve been an inspiration. Thank you guys 🙏🙏🙏
Thanks very much guys , of all the countries we have been to pound for pound Spain is our favourite , there is just something for everyone and the Spanish people are the nicest in Europe , all that's needed to show them some respect and good manners in a traditional sense and they'll do anything to help you if they can. Thanks for watching the series , best wishes helen and Martin
Great video, never been to Haro but spent time in La Rioja region. I like Martins comment about "enjoying" driving around the ferry and up the ramps 😅. You should try one of the Moroccan ferries which are jam packed with freight and motorhomes with horrendous ramps and you may not use the word "enjoy" any more 😅. Looking forward to your next trip ..
Hi Sam , thanks very much . The Morocco ferries sound like a challenge to be sure. Appreciate you watching and commenting very much , best wishes Helen and Martin
Hi Lyndz , hope you're having a great birthday . We loved the route , thanks once again for thinking about us and sending it over. Best wishes Helen and Martin
What a beautiful region of Spain. We love a wee glass of Rioja so the Taste Rioja section was worth the wait. Another great video guys. Keep safe. Irvine & Karen.
Thanks guys , Haro and Rioja combined made for a great last stop before the boat looking forward to some UK time now. Good look in your travels Helen and Martin
Ha ha that’s amazing we got a mention!!! We love that bike route, have done it twice and now three times virtually with you guys ! Thanks very much for the mention and it’s been fantastic watching your superb trip. As always love your videos and dialogue as well as the photography. 😍😍
Hi Ian thanks ever so much for your kind comments , we loved the route it was a great way to spend the last day on tour. Best wishes and thanks for watching H and M
Great vid as always H&M, love to follow along on your trips. Can I ask a couple of questions, please? How long do you prefer to be away for, to max out your 3 months or is that too long? And how do you find keeping your van at a secure site? I am thinking loading your stuff and unloading after a trip, charging batteries, washing it etc. Maybe an idea for a future vid? We are looking to downsize our house which means we will have to downsize our driveway too probably 😮
Hi hope you're well , some interesting points raised here and coincidently I'm just working on a round up video with some questions asked in so I'll incorporate some of these points. In summary , though the length of the trip depends to two things , what we want to achieve and what the weather is like in the UK 😂 . Storage is OK , it's never as easy for packing / unpacking on the drive but it works ok. Batteries have never been an issue so far as we are often away over winter when it's cold and the frequent trips in between seem to keep us topped up. We downsized when we moved to Norfolk and Motor-homing has taught us to live quite well with less space. Hope that helps best wishes and thanks for watching
Morning Martin & Helen hope you are both well. Could I pick on your vast experience please regarding SIM card deals when in Europe. We / I have installed WiFi in the van ready for the new football season like you Martin looking forward to a better season, presently like what’s taking place at our club, refreshing so far. So we’re off to Spain for 2 months , September & October. And I am informed that I will need to buy a SIM card for the router when in Spain as can’t do roaming like a phone. Do you have any recommendations that would suit my needs. Cheers Malc & Colleen xx
Hi guys , we use either Vodaphone or Orange SIM Cards in Spain . EE do a UK SIM card which if you buy the roaming pass will let you use up to 50gb ( acceptable usage aolicy they call it ) a month in Europe , but that's not enough for us as we're heavy users. If you google the nearest shop and tip with your passport , it's a requirement in Spain and it's relatively easy to progress from there. We're excited about Utd this year , we have a good feeling . Have a great week Helen and Martin.

@@helenandmartinsTreks Thank you for your clarification, your attitude is very appreciated. But not all of your compatriots show that same attitude and assume that we must all speak to them in English and understand them, which is not mandatory.
@@helenandmartinsTreks- lovely finale to your latest trip and a great incite in to this often overlooked region. Fabulous photography and story telling as always and a lovely watch. Whilst we always love going home, it’s generally tinged with a little sadness that the holiday is over but the planning starts straight away for the next one, generally on the ferry home 😊 Looking back on our trips on Polarsteps always inspires us to do more while we are able and we too love Spain, the people and the cultural and like you, we always try to immerse ourselves in whatever country we are travelling in. Learning conversation Spanish at an evening class many years ago has helped and with some basic French, my slowly improving Italian which is such a lovely language, we get by. What we do find is how friendly people are along the way and not once have been made to feel inadequate over our attempts to converse in the local language. On the last trip, hopping over various borders in a day, I did somewhat confuse myself what country I was in but that’s just old age 😁 Thanks for posting and sharing and here’s to the next chapter 😊
