    Dr. Sutterer. Im thinking it cant help his injury that every time he is benched and someone gets a three he jumps up and excitedly grasps his forefinger with this thumb and starts whipping his remaining 3 fingers (signalling a 3 pointer) back and forth. He really gets going hard with that at times. When I grasp my forefinger with my thumb my ring finger hyper extends. Flapping you fingers about wildly in that position looks like finger whiplash at times. Help (increase blood flow) or Hurt (minor repetitive strain on a healing joint)?

    it's like a mallet finger, but on a different joint. I've had a mallet finger on my pinky finger, what a pain in the ass, 10-12 weeks of keeping the finger straight and not bending, at the end, it's hard to bend, you can only bend it a little at a time with each passing day.

    So that's what is. I've had 2 boutonniere deformities on my dominant hand playing basketball about 12 years ago, it typically went away after a few days/weeks

      I had this and it hurt for months and since i didn't get a brace in time it remained deformed. In the end a surgeon said it was too risk to try to fix. You prob just had swelling in the join from a sprained finger - that can last weeks too but is very different.

      can you bend it all the way, can you even fight with it?

    • @gt0703
      @gt0703 2 года назад

      @@axz647 Yep, you can bend it in all the way, just not straighten. I'm not a fighter, but this injury would not stop you in those types of sports.

    I dislocated both my pinky fingers years ago and they exhibit this kind of deformity, but not too bad. I can still type this comment without a problem, but both hands are weak now. I used to be able to palm a basketball. I guess surgery at this point wouldn't do any good.
