  • Kevin Durant returned in game 5 of the NBA finals and many people were concerned about his health and risk of worse injury. The fears around the NBA came true as Durant sustained a repeat injury against the Toronto Raptors in game 5.
    Here are my initial reactions and thoughts on this devastating injury.

    After recording this I saw the clip where it looks like something snapped in the leg, and then we saw him in a boot and crutches leaving the arena. These certainly raise concern for rupture (in video based on some other info i originally said maybe not full rupture) but we'll see with more info tomorrow.

      Actually, Durant was doing great on the floor in the 1st quarter because his movements were very limited. He was not ISO-ing, and was only receiving and passing the ball. Agreed, their gm wouldn't normally give a post game interview. So why do an interview when your taking what appeared to be a nervous breakdown? That little show was to shape the narrative for the rest of the series. At the start of the series nobody gave the raptors a chance with GS being a heavy favorite. By game 5 the narrative changed to Toronto closing out at home to win it's first nba title. So how do you get fans to be sympathetic towards a juggernaut like GS? Well you could give their star player a season ending injury lol. Now the narrative will be the beat up injured Warriors have to win this title for kd haha. The whole thing seems like a poorly written sports film

    Do you think he got hurt because he wasn’t fully recovered? I think he should have just sat out of the finals and fully recovered.

      joscaca very. He shouldn’t have played in the first place any injury must be taken serious and most importantly rehab must be taken seriously. He just dropped his free agency worth dramatically

    Could be a rupture because remember when kobe bryant ruptured his achilles he stood up and knocked down two free throws then walked off the court on his own free power. I hope it's not a rupture !!!!

      DumbAsChris - The Team was desperate for his mere presence. They should have just instructed him to be a spot up shooter

    • @ChrisAdon
      @ChrisAdon 5 лет назад

      joscaca it looked like he tried to do exactly that but the one time they ran a iso play for him, he got exactly what they tried avoiding. We all know he was rushed, he probably knew he was rushed. If I was Steve Kerr or anyone on GS medical staff, I would’ve never cleared him to play. I’d never risk ending a players career just so we can stay in the playoffs.
