    3. how to use your club head for maximum power and control

    ABOUT DANNY
    -----------------------
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!
I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.
On RUclips and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.
Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble
I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

Danny, brilliant tips as usual. The routine with the pole and the releasing of the club is essentially what you were teaching me last week, and I am beginning to get it! Yesterday, at my club driving range, the ball was going straight (or slight draw) and longer because of this drill. Great!

Now I'm practicing it with my driver, and I've noticed the angle is definitely different, but same concept. Thank you so much mate.

I know this video is old, but I truly hope you see this. I’m 40 and golfed a few times in my life but I could never hit a driver. Decided to give it a go a few days ago and went to a course with some friends and just couldn’t hit the driver. Irons were ok but driver was just embarrassing. I printed out your weekly charts studied them and then tonight 4 days after the course I watched this vid and copied everything you did, went out in the yard and no kidding I am making solid contact and getting good shots into the net!!!!! What an absolute awesome video Danny. When you started off by saying lets get back to basics i thought well this is going to be boring, not a bit of it. The balance thing is something i need to work on the second part with the stick a real eye opener. The coup de gras was you hitting the ball one handed better than i can with two. Desperate to get out and give this a go and its now decided to rain for the first time in a month lol. Thx for the video and i will get down to see you one day for some lessons, thats a promise.

This is still my most favorite drill of all you teach. I do this every night in the barn right after horse feeding. Swing is still a work in progress but coming over the top is disappearing. I can only hit the ball about 100 yards with 8 iron single handed but it’s straight.

I haven't even finished watching this video yet but it's very eye opening. This information is so counter to the "body swing" or "core swing" so recently popularized. This is more old school when the teaching was to swing the arms/club and the body should react to that action vs. dictating the arms and club. This should result in a much more natural swinging of the arms and releasing of the club-head for greater distance and consistency. I've often thought that the body control swing is almost cumbersome and limits the arms and club speed.

What I like best was this got the club out in front of me and synchronised, where my body had been outracing it (partially caused by arm run-on in the backswing. This drill tidied up my motion. I got some funny looks from the neighbours(!) but it really helped.
Yesterday Sky had Nick Dougherty and Wayne Riley and CHIII on the practice tee, and they had a great camera view high, right and a forty-five degree ‘down the line’ view. Mr Riley and CHIII really got the club out in front, you saw they didn’t try to hold on to it, much like your release gets the club out in front with the big stick, it’s a great visual. It gave a really 3D view of the swing and reminded me if you are trying to ‘hold the angle’ from viewing a face on video, you are only holding it in one dimension and will come ‘off plane’. Have to swing that golf club like you are throwing, with the big stick.
I hooked up my phone in a high and right view and could see really clearly how trying to ‘lag’ the club visually just goes ‘pow!’ As it doesn’t look right. Could also see how open the face was. I don’t know if you think there is any mileage in it but could you do a high and right camera view video? Thanks.

The drill in this video solved two problems at on time for me. My release had been happening too late an this prevented my driver from being square when I struck the ball resulting in an evil slice. At the same time the distance was compromised because I could not generate the club head speed of which I was really capable. That slight separation between my hands on the pole suddenly allowed me to visualize what happens at the release and how to time it with my turn forward... like an epiphany! Don't get me wrong, I'm unlearning a lot of bad mechanics so I keep repeating the drill to teach my body but this one is golden, Danny. Thanks for the help!

I could not hit my driver consistently by watching your catapult video I am hitting my driver longer with draw and topspin! From 50% fairways and short! To 75% and long! My friends are amazed at how I am now next to them on the fairway or mostly longer. Thanks Danny Maude.

K.I.S.S. Another brilliant video. Lots of us need to focus better on these basics. I do find that when I actually give 100% focus, I strike the ball cleaner...resulting in a straighter, longer shot. Yes we have to remember to do 9,000 things before we actually hit the ball. But having that mental focus and watching your lessons Danny, we all should be able to gradually shave strokes off our game. Thank you....again!

Beautiful motion Danny. I learned that I need to adjust my set up and lean forward a little more, that I can do this motion without fear of pulling off the ball with my shoulders, that I can still transfer my weight to my front foot without pushing it there, and to 'let the clubhead do the work'. Thanks. Good stuff to work on.

Hi Danny, brilliant drill with the broomstick, it helps me with the takeaway and downswing. I feel that when I just let the club fall from the top straight down, the body looks after itself. Now to just ingrain this feeling in every swing after years of hitting from the top. Thanks a million Danny.

This is really working for me. When I actually just let the club fall, I get amazing results. My problem is sometimes I still tend to try hitting from the top. It is a hard habit to break but I am getting there bit by bit. The way you explain the swing is great Danny, thanks again

    • @DanielMaude
      @DanielMaude  6 лет назад

Thats great Tony, allowing that club to fall naturally is a tricky one, even the best players find themselves holding on and steering shots some times

Thank you . You described the movement so well and very simply put. I am a 72 year old female and have lost lots of yardage on my swing. I think it is because my body is against me now. I will practise and maybe some of the flexibility will return.
