    Small correction on the Illari change. The 0.2 to 0.25 is a 25% increase in the delay between minimum charge shots. The delay between maximum charge shots is going from 0.85 to 0.9, which is about a 6% increase in the delay.

      it'll make her optimal ttk go from 1.9 seconds to 2.05 seconds, that's pretty bad, pretty much an entire reaction time slower

    As a Illari main, calling her a turret is so accurate. Because her movement is so underwhelming. Then when you’re just playing the game it’s just you shooting, then if you need to, beaming someone’s hp.

      And shooting is even slower now. And if you wanna heal someone you have to literally crawl into their rectum. The outburst is horribly implemented by being inconsistant in its height, has way too much startup time (its neigh impossible to boop someone w it) and on a way too high CD. Like... wtf are they doing?

      ​@heartcoma To be fair, ashe only has coach gun for defense. If you dive an ashe without her coach gun, she's dead, whereas illari has her pillar and her passive. Not saying you're wrong for not enjoying illari the way she is, she's balanced, sure, but in an unfun way.

      @@Winterhe4rt Nah, that's copium. The height is not "inconsistent", the distance and height vary with what direction you're holding/not holding on activation. Also, Outburst is a huge AOE boop on command. Startup is legit like less than half a second. It's braindead easy to press a button and boop everyone away from you while also flying away from them. Saying it's hard to boop is like saying Sombra EMP is hard to hit.
      Also, it's a 7 second CD. That's one second slower than Moira Fade. Quit being dramatic.
      Iliari is meh right now but on release she was busted and Outburst doing all that it does (peel, displacement, mobility,) alongside her kit that also did everything like every other post launch support released made her really powerful. She already got a shooting speed buff in S9, this change is just lowering it back down a bit.
      Only thing you're right about is the piss poor heal range which buffing would feel great, but she has always been a solid pick for more damage oriented support.

      but there's backfill! I really don't understand why QP needs to be so regulated. I am a ranked head, but when I play QP, it's supposed to be non-sweaty.

      @@actionmarco8556 again, because it's not the game anymore. His analogy nailed it. But backfill is only a half measure. When they leave, the new person has no ult charge, no idea where in the match the game is, or the dynamics. That can be almost a minute of not having a teammate, which just isn't fun. And that's the key, if it's not fun then it's bad. Not about being sweaty

      @@actionmarco8556 if backfill was more forgiving sure, if a teammate leaves mid fight, it's akin to the enemy team getting a pick, AND the backfill starts with 0% ult charge. + usually people aren't ready for the backfill so often the backfiller will spend 20-30 seconds choosing a hero and an extra 20 seconds walking to point.

      @@MasterMemo That analogy is bogus and you know it. Pickup games have NOTHING at stake. Quick Play doesn't have the same structure as Ranked. No A-B side swapping, longer match time and more extended time per checkpoint catch, etc. It's supposed to be a drop in and drop out game mode. Not to mention they screwed the pooch by saying that Quick Play is competitive and players took that literally. (i.e. flaming you for wrong picks, underperforming, etc.) Quick Play has become so sweaty because of this system, the language they used, and the amount of people enable this type of mind set and that mind set needs to be stomped out. They don't want to play Quick Play; they just want to play Comp without any of the commitment.
      Edit: To add into that, these changes FORCE you to make your friends wait until your match is done before you can join their group. This wasn't a problem before and coming in Season 10, it's now going to be and it is stupid.

    For Tracer, when they say “more punishable and require more precision”, I think they likely are referring to her blink cooldown
    It makes sense, by increasing how long the cooldown takes to get another blink, it would require her to be more precise with her blink usage, if you aren’t, then you are definitely going to need punished.
    It’s dumb, changing a hero who is so reliant on cooldowns even after claiming she’s been on of the least worked on heroes is stupid.
    All she needs is damage number changes.
    Saying as a Tracer otp, she doesn’t need any cd changes

    I admit I'm biased towards Tracer, but I'm a little concerned that if they make tweaks to her kit cooldowns, it'll just increase her already super high skill floor and not be fun to play. I fear eventually the effort required to get value out of the character would no longer be worth it when say, you could lock Sojourn and get close to the same value with a lot less time invested.

      The damage debuff being so easily applicable is an issue outside of her already stellar performance just as a result of hitbox changes. Hope they don't touch her cooldowns when it's clear those abilities aren't problems. (It's her guns obviously!)
      I almost said problematic but the Tumblr flashbacks kicked in.

      ​@@josephreynolds2401I agree. In addition, I can say that Tracer maybe does a little too much damage at close range.
      However, the character really needs range. I'd take 5 or 5.5 damage per bullet any day if it means she had her old spread/damage fall-off back. But, that's from the perspective of playing the character, not playing against her. I'm sure support players wouldn't appreciate being poked from Narnia again.

    Ball ult is another no-aim ult that didn't get buffed going into season 9. Also piledriver.
    And Ball is in the same boat as Tracer, at least for me. He is super hard to learn to play well. But unlike Tracer, he plateaus. There's a point where you have to work so much harder to generate value than it takes to deny that value, even on maps that are good for the hero. And I understand that this is sort of a problem for all tanks, but it's not as pronounced on Doomfist for example.
    These changes open up a lot of possibilities to both support a dive and even peel, so I'll be curious to see how it shakes out. But it's really hard to see what niche Ball can occupy that Winston, Doom, or DVa can't do better. I was really hoping for some sort of parry window as you suggested.

    My only gripe with venture is how much you have to respect them and give them space if you don't wanna get comboed when they pop up and die as a result. Better at making space than some tanks even. Not necessarily a problem with venture per se, but more of a "tank role needs serious help" thing. Now, sure, we only had a little period of playtesting to see how to play against venture but so often my team would leave me behind as a tank because venture will unburrow and delete a support or create enough distraction for me to have to retreat to save a teammate and give up space anyway. People will say how it's easy to burst them down but unburrow can be quite unpredictable, they don't have to charge it every time. Plus, venture gets shields just for pressing buttons unlike doom who has to hit people with abilities for overhealth (since many people compared venture to dps doom)
    Ball changes are cool but now tracers will be legit unkillable while being able to fully apply dps passive no matter how their aim looks like. It's similar to queen shout in a way, but it's easier for ball to go in compared to jq (and not get poked to death beforehand). Tracer needs some adjustments, slightly less damage and the dps passive needs to scale instead of one bullet applying the full value.

      Sure, but Ball doesn't threaten people the way Queen does. More shields for his team is a great buff but I wish they just gave him more damage to be more of a threat. Or just CC resist on fireball because half the roster in every role has really easy braindead ways of preventing fireball value.

      Do you not know how to fight flankers? It’s the same as them if not worse, if venture commits enough for a kill to be possible they would die from blowing their escape, once people are experienced enough that kill should never happen. I’ve seen the situation you talk about and if the venture doesn’t kill themselves all they would’ve done is do some damage leaving burrow then escape with drill dash (think of a much less lethal slam -> uppercut -> punch for escape)

      @@DeertickDaniel yes and if they kill a support and die in the proccess they got value for their team, in most cases it would be a good trade. Now, it's easy to lose an isolated 1v1 vs venture so playing closer to your team gives you better odds (similar to what you'd do vs sombra). Problem is, just like sombra, their ult heavily punishes you for being grouped up with 4 mini earth shatters with better damage (that charges pretty quickly). At least venture isn't invisible, and I can use my abilities any time I want without having to worry about getting hacked.

    I think a good idea for Illiary would be to make the pylon a bot that attaches to a teammate and heals them and allies around them. It would have to have limited total healing it could do before disappearing and probably low health, but would add more depth of decision to how you use pylon.
    you could attach it to a winston who dives in or to your other support so you could both be protected. stuff like that

    On the wrecking ball reduced cooldown hook thing, there is several times that ball has moments where he wants to use hook but doesn't actually need the fireball. Toronto kick comes to mind right off the bat, hooking a wall high, holding back, and then slamming. In that instances you don't ever need the fireball if you don't go for a boop first and might be worth going for more often. I guess it really depends on how much the cd of it is actually reduced to say for sure, but I think it'd be neat to have instances that you want to actually go for sub fireball speed to get the shorter cd.

      Aside from Toronto kick (usually completely unnecessary btw, most of the time you can just walljump and not blow both cds), it's pretty easy to accidentally get fireball. I see this more as QOL. Not that it can't be used strategically, but the margin for error is really small. Hell, just falling down already puts Ball at fireball speed if he grapples. I guess you can be creative and use hook as an anchor to prevent being booped if you're just rolling directly at someone who can't do enough damage to you before you can get into position.

    I think the retraction could be an okay solution for getting body blocked if you are guaranteed to get to the end. However you probably can still get bodied block if there is no wall on the otherside of the doorway

    Oh, I dunno. Overtuned Tracer can be scary. I shouldn't have to swap TO Tracer to stand a chance against her. Just like I shouldn't haft to swap TO Moira or Sombra to mirror and surpass a decent (or relentless) one. But it feels like I have to do that, far too often.

    I'd like to see them try giving Illari's secondary healing a buff while her pylon is down. Either something like her range on the heal beam is longer or the heal gauge depletes slower when pylon isn't on the field. I think that'd make her a bit more dynamic at least.

      The reason healing is restricted is to balance her power. If healing increases while pylon is down, she could become too good at attacking and healing.

    I feel like Tracer is such a fun character. Like not just to play, but also to play against. I love being able to catch the recalls with a cooldown or predict a blink to get a clean hit. The low hp and high mobility makes it so you have a chance of actually confirming a kill if you catch one. If you are struggling vs a Tracer a lot of times it feels more like you just have to play better rather than getting oppressed by a broken character.

    with this ball shields change he can become super strong at peel, imagine your ana gets dove by 3 people, you are full hp, you dont need shields for yourself, so you just go at your ana at full speed and double tap E to give her health, while also maybe booping people away, effectiveness of this will depend on how quickly you can activate that ally shields transfer, if you can double tap E quick, it could be busted at times

    your genji just goes the fuck in you know hes about to feed so you go together and you give him health, theres going to be many ways to use this

      This is not as good as bubble lol, think about using commanding shout as queen in these situations since they seem about as good in terms of peel. Like this will NOT save a mfer from a 3 man dive on its own.

    For illari like quality of life change I wish you could just manually charge up a shot by holding a button, (along with a sound cue) like widow does scoped or charging a symm orb. And have damage and effectiveness tweaked around that instead. it feels so ass to just being staring at the little white meter fill up constantly

    Illari pylon needs to do more when its placed and then have like a 5-6 sec lifetime maybe a 4 seconds cooldown but 8 seconds of destroyed. On deploy players healed by pylon have increased attack speed for it's duration by like a small value (15%)

    As an illari main, I'm tired of them forcing us into a primary healing role like, They said she was an offensive support and are nerfing every aspect around her-- she needs more buffs than nerfs this is irritating

    They better not nerf Tracer for the upcoming Ball changes because Ball + Tracer/Sombra is going to go HARD. Support mains will not have fun in that meta.
    They may need to buff supports again and then we’ll end up in a support power creep again. I don’t think that sharing adaptive shields is good for the game. Ball is a hero they have to be very careful with.

      @@philistine3260 It’s the combo. If Tracer dives with Ball she will get 75hp for free. That is a 250hp Tracer running around. Sombra will also get this buff. I prefer a dive meta but because it rewards skill. This removes the skill requirement in favor of padding stats. Stat padding buffs have never gone well in this game. They always get nerfed but other heroes get nerfed beforehand in some vain attempt to keep the stat padding buff as long as possible before it is removed.

    13:55. The only problem is that I don't want to play games with teammates that feed because it already happens in comp and play with dps supports. I just want to leave the game and join a game that is fun. I want a system that punishes people if they have left x amount of games in the past hour or so because then when I do play quickplay at least I get to leave some games.

    4:20 and this is why its so annoying when sombra players say "its only a second" but its not the lock out and never really was, its the fact it steal an ability when you try to use it which will often leave you inna very vulnerable situation.
    So for many heros you can nerf sombras lock out to .1 seconds and itll still do the same things to them which is why nerfing the lock out on sombra in exchange for a giga buffed base kit only really helped sombra and why shes incredibly overtuned now.

    I love venture they feel very fluid, and most importantly fair. Even then I still have a few things I would change about them. Some things I would still do for venture to help with the fluidity
    So when you use drill dash underground the cooldown is cut in half, but using it before you go underground means that you can be caught without drill dash. I don’t think venture needs another cooldown, so instead of that I think the cooldown of drill dash should just get cut in half when underground. This would get rid of a bit of the downtime of venture and add to the dig dynamics.
    Is it weird to anyone else that the shields are capped at 75 but they both give 40? Also why is it even capped at all especially considering you’re using an ult when you get shields. I think the cap should just be removed and drop the ult shield gain by 5 to a max of 400. I don’t feel like it’s too bad especially considering you’re pretty vulnerable in the ult as it was. Maybe you need to burn everything just to survive using your ult.
    Speaking of the ult I think it not 2 tapping 300 hp targets makes venture way too vulnerable against them. If the ult had 3 150 damage charges instead of 4 130 would alleviate a bit of that. If the targets receive any healing they can survive, and venture would still have to use the third charge on them. It also means that 250 hp targets would need to receive over 50 healing to survive instead of 10. This also drops the pure damage of the ult 520 for 4 charges 450 for 3. Ventures ult feels clunky and I think a bit of that comes from how long the ult takes to finish. This also comes with the potential for 400 health with the ult but all of the changes are fine in a vacuum.
    I know some people think the primary fire needs changes because it gets shit on in poke but snipers are OP and we shouldn’t balance our game around OP we should balance the OP shit.
    what do you guys think about venture and what are your thoughts on potential changes if any venture would need.

    The ball grapple changes sound great, but the shields on teammates sound soooo bad lol. The game doesn't need raw aoe stats like that, kind of similar to cardiac overdrive, suzu, moira/bap aoe heals, etc. The enemies have no counterplay for it also, like zap suddenly the whole enemy team has more health than you, cool!
    I expected fireball to leave some kind of short lifespan 50hp barrier, or piledriver creating a mini winston bubble around you with only walls no ceiling.

      Ya realize ball has to sac his own overhealth for his allies right? Not exactly an increase ro raw stats, more like stat redistribution if you choose to share shield with your allies. Now I'm not saying it might not lead to annoying scenarios with a chunky tracer at times, however ball has sacrificed an equal amount of his health for the tracer to have instead. no Stat inflation just changing where the numbers are instead of what the numbers are. All of this should be taken with a grain of salt as we haven't played the changes and won't know how it will play out till we do

    I feel like I might be alone in saying that I loved Illari's secondary fire heal output on release yet having lower damage output. As a beam heal on limited resource, it felt like a more balanced way to be able to pump heals into my tank during a window of insane damage and they just wouldn't die. Especially in my metal rank where tanks take too much damage, it felt good. The only problem is that her kit doesn't make sense together... because as a flanker she's usually out of range to be able to offer her secondary fire heal to her teammates. She's feel like a support for DPS players that are breaking into the role.

    Completely disagree with your take on the qp bans. It harms the fun of other people in the game locking someone into a casual mode and having them afk/throw because they don't want the ban, rather than letting them leave and backfilling with someone who actually does want to be there. 2/20 matches when they kick in is totally ridiculous. All it's gonna do is drive away casual players. You may say 'so long to them' but let's see what that does to queue times when the casuals leave. We have a fair idea already as we saw it in OW1 when content dried up.

      Agree with you. Usually the people that hate on their team and end up rage quitting are typically the problem. The replacements aren’t always better but I’d much rather take my chances with replacements. That’s actually the biggest benefit to QP over ranked imo. I’d rather the cry babies leave and get a teammate that actually tries to win.

    I am cautiously pessimistic about the Tracer changes, just because I'm not sure if the dev team truly understand what makes her viable/not - given the specific language they use.
    "More punishable, require more precision" -Tracer already requires probably the most precision out of any character in the game. There's a reason she isn't rolling every lobby in metal ranks, she's damn hard to play and get consistent value with. She's also punishable, she has the lowest health pool in the game and doesn't take much aggro to force an ability out of her.
    Is it perhaps simply that the matchups that are decent vs Tracer, simply aren't that favored right now in the current state of balance? I'd love to have more insight into the decisionmaking and analytics that go into this.
    Tracer requires perhaps the highest degree of mechanics, aim, and timing/map knowledge out of any hero in the game, and if we limit her even more she will simply just become a barrier of entry towards less skilled players, which I don't believe is the intention from the devs.
    I'm not sure what exactly I'd personally tweak in her kit, if a tweak is deemed necessary. The best thing about Tracer is that her whole kit flows so well when you get good with your cooldown management and movement, and it would be truly sad if she was made more cumbersome to play. Especially now that Ball buff indirectly also becomes a Tracer buff, I worry that the devs will correlate the two and deem the Tracer changes even more necessary as a result, even though she's essentially just a bystander in this situation.
    Seems like the devs aren't taking big leaps with the changes to her, but I can't help but be skeptical of their approach and reasoning behind. We'll see how it goes.

    Illari’s fire rate used to be 0.3 before the S9 mid season patch, so yes, while Illari will have a slower fire rate, it is still better than her old fire rate

      @@brkctrl In S6 or 7, I don't remember, but they nerfed Illari so she can't shoot + melee a Tracer. She got buffed in S9 to have a stronger ultimate with a dmg increase. They buffed her again to have a faster fire rate as mentioned in the previous message. It is still overall better than what Illari was at the beginning of S9

    Switch the functions of Illari's primary and secondary fire. Her damage weapon should become the beam and her healing weapon should become the hitscan shot. This alone would change a lot about how she functions in different comps and give her a more dynamic and more enjoyable playstyle.

      Imo if you manage to cancel a hack by getting out of sombras line of sight it should start a cooldown on hack (not full 8 seconds tho)

    Always thought the leaver argument was stupid. When someone leaves someone joins back correct? Idk why people always act as if if you leave qp it's a perma 4v5. No other game (at least I'm aware of) has qp bans it's stupid the consequence to your former teammates is sooo minimal and I'm not going to pretend otherwise

      That’s IF you get a consistent fill quick enough. I’ve had plenty of games where people leave halfway through, and the odds of getting someone to stay in a game halfway through, currently losing is not high at all. Not to mention people leaving games 15-20 seconds before the loss, then you load in to walk out, shoot a few times and it’s over. No one should be leaving a QP game willingly.

      Their abilities already work as "dot" but the first frames of both their melee and dash deal more damage than the last so they are probably simply shifting it to be more linear

    winston's secondary fire projectile size increased so much it's very easy to hit now. it already benefitted. doesn't need dmg buff but i personally would nerf his bubble hp and remove ammo consumption from his secondary fire. this way non optimal heroes can deal with bubble and not have to switch to bastion and winston can have a good poke that can expand his playstyle. ramattra's pummel needs dmg buff though. it didn't receive any projectile size buff. his pummel is really worthless. it's so bad that it's actually similar to winston zap now. his ultimate too. it's still 30dps non aim dmg source. basically does nothing. idk why it didn't updated to 40dmg like melee. his ult charge is very slow too. ramattra's average damage didn't increase like other tanks. I compared the stats, all other tanks does around 10% to 30% more avg damage per 10 min. Ramattra only does about 2%. Ult costs increased 10%. ram is pretty fun to play idk why they keep him trash and force us to play orisa.

Current bubble have too high stat which makes it basically uninteractable for most heroes.

    I started to main Tracer in season 8 and I had so much fun with her. She even overtook Hanzo as my most played hero, and he had been that since 2017. I really hope these nerfs are light because playing Tracer is some of the most fun I've had in OW for a LONG time. I'd hate to see her become a weak character

    The chat moderation is bad, and has always been bad. Until they make it not just automated, it's always going to be abused by bad actors. A lot of "streamers" like to tell everyone that it's nonsense and the screencaps of getting banned for innocuous chats are nonsense, but don't realize that they're literally in a partner program where they get free skins etc, there's no way they'd ever get banned without an overwatch employee personally approving it.
    They can easily fix this without spending millions on more moderators though, just do it like CS:GO/CS2. Valve doesn't moderate voice or chat bans at all in that game; instead they auto-mute people who get reported too much, but you can always unmute them manually if you still want to talk to them. Allowing the community to monitor themselves in this way is far better.
    Also why tf can you not at least join voice to listen to comms even if you can't speak while chat banned?
    Personally, I only got banned once, and it was because I was playing doomfist. The example of my "toxic" communication was me typing winton a few times, and then saying I didn't want my dick sucked in response to a teammate telling me they would if I swapped. Absolutely nothing to do with me being toxic, just a toxic 4 stack getting me banned for not wanting to do a mauga mirror.

    I am very curious to see how the new avoid system effects tanks in particular at higher levels. I also think they should be able to still have 3 hard avoid slots for toxic players that they can guarantee won't be in their game, thinking especially about our minority groups there.

    Censorship will kill this game. Having the option to block, mute, and avoid players is optimal, but giving the ability to remove someone else's game to a player is ridiculous. Especially when the reasoning behind it is an ambiguous term like "offensive/toxic" which anyone can abuse.
