it's good step towards bringing dps doom back in the game
Really fun, weak to boring snipers. Embodies everything an overwatch hero should be. The uniqueness of the characters is what made me love overwatch when I started playing it 8 years ago.

A solid tip for playing Venture is just… have a history for playing Splatoon. I’m serious. Because I played splatoon 1 religiously years ago, I kinda just… understood how to use venture perfectly off the start of the season.
genuinely true, i've played a ton of splatoon 3 and venture's primary shots are VERY similar to a blaster. the biggest similarity to me is being able to use the blast radius to poke from above shields and cover, which is something that only really blasters can do and excel at. also the whole "diving into the ground to engage/disengage" thing is very splatoon-y lol
thats so true actually i picked up venture a few days ago bc i wanted to try them out and it just felt very natural (probably bc ive played splatoon for so long lol)

at 8:19 you mention a shoot, drill, shoot, melee combo. a better combo if you are in melee range is: Shoot, instantly melee (only getting impact damage) into instantly drill, cancelling the melee with drill, then shoot which does 290, killing most squishies aside from cassidy because of roll, mei, and reaper
it does 290, 80+30+100+80

nah that combo does less dmg bcus melee does less in the same amount of time if u insta drill
the only time you want to do that combo is against someone with high hp
but the combo is a bit dif it would be shoot, melee, insta drill, shoot, shoot, melee
@@wasabebo8334 you do insta drill, you press primary+melee+dash in nearly the same instant. Unlike genji you can cancel your melee with dash (something they removed from genji in 2016 because it was too op funnily enough)
@@wasabebo8334 the benefit is it's more consistent if you can get up close before hand. The drill dash often sends targets too far away to land the quick melee
imagine if this hero was released before universal heal passive and before health pools increased
well they probably would've gotten more shields

If you look at the early gameplay footage venture actually had 250 hp. At the time I thought venture was just gonna be a 250 hp hero like Mei and reaper, but the devs actually leaked the change before we knew about it.
I used to main genji/tracer/doom, I then became a tracer 1 trick in ow2. I have to say, Venture might be the most fun character since Tracer.
Feels like Venture does Reapers job but better. More survivability and stronger up close burst damage. Ventures survivability makes Venture a little OP in those moments. Venture can constantly harass the backline with very little risk. The only thing that Venture does worse is tank damage.
There is risk though. You need to manage cooldowns perfectly and not get CC. I think she’s a lot weaker than people think.
@@AntLeonardi01 For sure. It's not brain dead gameplay atleast. You actually have to be prettt good at the game to pull it off consistently. It's still really good tho. If you manage your cd's well you can be really hard to catch.
Venture requires more skill then reaper and they have two different jobs reaper kills tanks amazingly but against most tanks venture is useless
so keep running it down and use all abilites to engage? got it.
This video helped me so, so much at getting a better grasp of what my role is on Venture. I have been too obsessed with actually trying to secure the eliminations when I go in, but after this video I've been playing more to just threaten their team and it has worked wonderfully. I've also adapted spamming more into my playstyle and it has given me so much more value, especially if it's at a point in time where I have no need to go in. Before watching this, I'd have a lot more deaths than I think I needed for the returned kills I got. I just played a game where I was 35-3. Playing more for pressure, as well as spamming and occasionally staying in the backline behind the enemy team has helped me a ton. Thanks!

This is the first time where I actually knew all the tips and playstyle, makes me really happy that I understood all of this on my own in my gamesense learning journey! Love the jazz in the background btw.
I was on Circuit Royale second checkpoint attack. The doom was much further than his team so I used the “deep dash” to intimidate the squishies following him. By the time they refocused my team had killed the doom and mopped up the arriving squishies.
I just tried Venture for one day and I've already decided they're my new main. The kit works SO WELL with how I want to play. This is the first time I've ever felt instantly attached to a character's playstyle. I was doing everything you were talking about without even thinking about it.

Actually might be what im missing. Knowing when to transition in and out of spam or committing properly, I keep trying to do the full combo and go for a trade on Ana/Zen which isnt always = in value.

I like her. She is like a second tank. Granted I'm in silver, but people be afraid of her, I feel like I'm not allowing my team to play when I play her sometimes.
If anyone else is a jump spammer like me I highly recommend turning off the jump to exit burrow in settings, I kept fat fingering it and dying

I still think venture needs some adjustments. Maybe make the one shot possible but harder and in return reduce the movements cooldown so they feel smoother

Lowkey I feel like one thing they can do is lower the power of drill dash but add a second charge to it (like rein firestrike). This could fix the issue of not having enough cooldowns whilst not being able to one shot combo (at least as easily) someone and get out for free.

Fix the grenade. He really needs skill outplay, a rewarding skill to land would feel less cheesy for the oppo and push him towards a higher skill floor. He feels like a "checkers" hero with mag nade tbh, even worse than old flashbang.

Why couldn't DPS doomfist exist in ow2 but venture can? The burrow are just an better version of uppercut and the drill is Rocket punch. I remember they said it was too much displacement and CC in his kit, yet she delivers same amount of displacement and burst as old doom. Anyways, happy to have an similar DPS in the game again.
They don't randomly appear from the sky or hard juggle out of responding movement. Venture's also less tanky on successful hits and while also combo assassination focused, is far less mobile for both engage and disengage.
I loved old Doom but he had far more options of approach than Venture ever will. Tank Doom also has really grown on many over time and better suits his power fantasy (even if he should get his shoryu back in some more counterplayable form).

Personally I dont like their design. Its highly mobile character, has one shot combo on cd, if they hit their abilities the hp goes up to 325, and they have invulnerability. Whenever any character combines in them all 4 of these properties, I think its really bad design.
Playing support against them is a pain. I can’t play the game if there is a decent venture on the other team. I’m forced to swap to Kiri or Moira so I can escape.
all of the right click is like -200 hp if they land it (which isnt hard at all), ive died to drill when venture isnt even looking at me, kinda nuts
@@Elemaphant It's 100 damage if they hit it at point blank, does less damage the further away they start it.

Sorry, Spilo. This hero is everything the playerbase hates all rolled into one. Immortality, one-shot combo (which would be fine except for the fact that you can't escape it once youre caught in it), and CC = lack of individual counterplay as anything but a hero with CC of their own. This hero is terribly designed and is no fun to play against. Feels like getting map-edged in a fighting game. Absolutely terrible.
Needs to be nerfed. You cant do anything when she just decides she wants you dead
Eh, i think you can deal with them fairly easily as long as you have a movement ability or a cc, they are even easier to punish then someone like genji imo
Brain dead hero. You can push forward and use all your cooldowns without any care, more than likely get a kill, and still get out alive.
should be easy for you to wreck top 500 with venture then!
