To the guy who asked the 1st question - If you're reading this, Well done on going clean for 11 months. If you've gone clean once you can do it again. You're strong enough, and I believe in you. Seriously, you'll look back on all this in 3 year's time and smile. As for how to improve at Overwatch? Reflecting on your performance mid-game/ just after you died is crucial. If you made a play and it didn't work/ it got 'randomly' countered by something wacky coming 'out of the blue', then you need to take a step back and look at your play a nano-second after it failed and figure out what you could have done differently. I promise you, those random moments 'out-of-the-blue' moments aren't so random. As you analyse your own performance, you'll come to realise it's Game-sense, positioning, tracking when cooldowns have been used and general macro-decision making that are the main reasons why something didn't work - way more so than any amount of raw mechanical skill. Raw mechanical skill is nice to have... but there are hundreds of videos on RUclips of people playing Overwatch with full on wall-hacks, aim-hacks, auto-fire scripts, cheats galore to 'simulate' mechanical skill and turn every shot they make into a 360 no-scope headshot... and still getting absolutely bodied by Grandmaster Lobbies who just absolutely dumpster them simply by knowing how to out-position them and track his cooldowns/ know when to use theirs. There's a recent video of a cheater getting 0 kills while dying 12 times in a row and making absolutely 0 impact on the game, all because his game-sense was terrible, his positioning was awful, he had no idea of where enemies were/ didn't think about where they could come from, he didn't use any cover map/terrain at all to block any damage, and crucially he didn't keep track of his opponents cooldowns (e.g. Ana's sleep dart, Sigma's rock, Cassidy's grenade, etc.) Game-sense, positioning and macro-decision making. Those are the main things that hold people back/ keep 'em hard stuck in the Metal ranks. People climb out of the metal ranks by Reflecting on their gameplay, reflecting on the decisions they made literally seconds after they made them, and realising why their play got countered/ why they accidentally put themselves into a bad position needlessly. They then make a mental note to look out for those moments where their brain just auto-pilots into doing a dumb thing, and then consciously take a purposeful step back by saying "no, wait, hang on, that's what got me de-meched as DVA last time! I won't do that again". KarQ is right. You honestly do have to just play the game a lot to learn all this stuff. You honestly do have to just encounter these situations again and again and again, all while having the presence of mind to analyse those moments where something goes wrong and figure out what you could have done differently. Think about your positioning. Can you avoid damage by being on the highground/ playing around a corner? Think about your cooldowns. Did your DVA rockets actually do anything and secure a kill? Or were you just firing them at the enemy randomly 'just 'cos', and they got eaten by the enemy DVA's defence Matrix? Think about your tracking of the enemy's positioning, their cooldowns. Ask yourself "What could they do to stop my big game winning play". An example with Moira: Has the Moira faded in already and used up her cooldown thus making her vulnerable to a good ol' DVA dive? Or has she still got an escape plan? Because if so, then even in Silver you know she's just going to fade away if I use my rockets solely on her and I'll just waste half of them. I'll then have to chase her down and inevitably she'll have gone toward her team, meaning that if I follow her to secure the kill, I know I'll suddenly be in a 5 v 1 situation with the entire enemy team and I'll be all by myself and I'll get de-meched pretty quickly. Instead, I'll wait for her to use her fade cool-down and use my rockets when she's vulnerable - when she's put herself in a bad position". That's the kind of thinking that gets people to climb through the ranks. Think about what You could do differently. Hope this helps :)
After getting off of drugs which is the most important step to improve life and focus there are some things that helps a lot: 1. A good sleep schedule and enough sleep 2. Regular exercise, especially cardio 3. Good diet, too much carbs can contribute to brain fog. 4. Good mental health. The above 3 can improve mental health a lot. First it is difficult to change lifestyle but with time it will be natural and a huge improvement in mental health. 5. Practice mindfulness. Brain fog, daydreaming, drifting thoughts and negative thoughts affect the concentration a lot. 6. Good ergonomy in posture while sitting, using the peripherals etc.
Why do tanks do damage and do I need to be a shield tank are great back to backs. Think of the Maugua and Orisa metas. They don't (exactly) have shields, but the reason they are good is because they demanded to be respected or you'll take too much damage/CC and fall over. Tanks can either CC/damage you out of an area, or be hypermobile to threaten your backline to make people move out of the area you want to be in to help their team or once again, they'll fall over. Shielding is just a very visual way of seeing "space" being held.
Orisa doesnt demand respect. She capitalizes on being an easy target with the easiest, most passive dmg mitigation in the game. That's why her winrate is low compared to tanks that make more action but feel bad to play. Mauga demands respect because his entire kit is designed to stick it to the other tank player. If the other tank player isn't allowed to demand respect in turn, then mirroring is the only way. That's why mauga sucks for the game. Mauga cannot hard counter the bulk of the tank roster, the solution is to incentivize setting more people on fire for lifesteal rather than pelting the easiest-to-hit guy for it.
@@josephreynolds2401honestly, orisa just actually isnt that good because she's a fat target with a consistent damage output. Tank players just hate fighting her because tanks mostly can't shred her down except for Mauga and charged Zarya. Dps however, will not like her using abilities to survive but the higher up you go the more likely the dps can actually land the shots and capitalize on a retreating orisa. And higher up, Orisa is less strong as people actually know not to stand out in the open or let her walk up on you.
Hey as someone who just witnessed my sister go through the loss of a friend from drug use and attending the funeral today, there is 0 time to waste to quit. Idc the reason if it makes you think you feel okay, or helps you focus, etc. That is LARGELY because parts of you are shutting down. You aren't better during a high you just can't focus on that and put yourself and others at risk to do that. If this person ranks down in OW because they stop using then good. As KarQ said there is much more important things to focus on, helping out in games or social spaces does not warrant risking your health because you don't know if you will wake up after using it. And that pain might stop for you but there are dozens of people who will have to deal with that pain after they die. I feel sorry for the guy and I'm glad they recognize the harm but to anyone who sees this and is actively going through things or knows someone who is, talk with people and form a support group. Stopping is never easy but its easier than continuing.
Yup, unless you're getting a solid trade staying alive is your best bet. You'll see how the game is played more. You'll get a better feel for individual hero strengths and weaknesses, and you prevent the enemy from staggering your team.
6:45 - I mean, Lucio can't healbot, it's not possible. He can't output enough HPS. 2-3k healing done per game is a little wild, they're def not healing enough. No support in the game should have that average healing per game, getting higher isn't healbotting, that's if all you do is heal, the amount doesn't matter. Especially since Lucio's healing is completely passive. This player understands the importance of speed boost, but doesn't seem to fully know when to use what.
As a support player with naturally poor hand-eye coordination, I've decided to play the no-aim supports and content myself with quick play. Would I like to have better mechanical skills? Sure. I'd also like to be 5 inches taller, but you can't always get what you want
Been playing overwatch since its release, one of the best things that really helped me get better was to play a bunch of mystery heroes. Teaches you how to roughly play as/against all heroes, and if you ever want to use an ult you gotta stay alive!
i think the response to the genii question was good, but you also forgot to mention a dive alternative to genii. i think sombra would’ve been a good choice, as she isn’t too aim intensive while still putting out good damage
There was an experimental patch in Overwatch 1 where the tanks had a lot less damage in exchange for some utility. It was an interesting experiment, but you could just walk right past the tank and ignore them. Maybe the didn't get enough utility to compensate for the damage loss, but survivability is not enough for tanks in PvP games where the players can chose to ignore them.
For the Lucio main: Just watch your tank. If they look like they're about to go into the backline then amp speedboost. If they're dying or any other teammates are dying then amp heal (Most tanks in metal ranks aren't aware enough they need to back up to survive). Mainly depends on your playstyle. If you're playing reddit lucio then it's just speed boost about 80% of the time. If you're playing with your team, you'll want to build beat with heal and speed boost when the situation calls for it
OW2 is really interesting because it's such a fast paced game like athletic sports but it has memorization and fast reaction fights. It also has strategic line ups and staging for fights. I wish it had (good) active team comms. Like athletics genetics and your formative years will be massively helpful. The rest (aside from teamwork) is like Karq said, "obsessing" a bit about the strategic depth and minutiae of mid fight and duels. I think when you get stuck climbing you should focus on one tricking in most instances so you can focus on the knowledge and just operating the hero from muscle memory. Felt super good when I learned how to duel (low rank) Tracers and Sombras as Soldier. It kinda boils down to awareness and aiming helix rocket at their feet/or the wall and strafing/running. I still get lost in the close up duels but have gotten more comfortable.
Hog do be a mess in low ranks, however I feel like Zen is pretty good at busting through hoggert. 14:20 they should really try out venture, great mixed hero for diving poking and brawling
Its easier to think that Tanks have an easier damage output, with some constraints. Winston, aoe cleave, low damage and range. Rein, aoe cleave, low range, high damage, but incredibly slow with a slow tank. Junkerqueen, a very tight spread shotgun, incredibly high burst and combo, very very limited tanking capabilities in return.
Sigma is like Orisa it's about managing cool downs and having a team around you. Managing cool downs while amped up and under pressure is tough. Play Orissa and watch the streamer crew they poke into like spin push and retreat with fortify and spear. Super hard to kill you but even Flats messes up his cooldowns or misses a spear or has his team not follow up. Tank is the center piece and it's just so so hard to do that if your team isn't backing up your play style. Really wish OW promoted strategy guides, tips, hints, and comms. When I started it sucked, I still suck, but people staggering their deaths is dumb. It's the bare minimum of trying to win, I don't care if teammates aren't great but that's probably the least forgivable unless they're totally ignorant. I did start telling people to wait and it mostly worked.
Yeah, Orisa dies because supports are pressured by someone diving or supports are helping someone. Orisa is a really good wall under ideal circumstances. Orisa only has decent consistent damage output against other tanks, unless they have really good aim.
Bruh people take this game more seriously than jobs and relationships lol. Coke to play comp at a silver level. I want to tell myself it's fake but who am I kidding there's probably Bronze players popping PEDs too lmao
I feel bad for that guy. addiction isn’t an easy thing to get through and I could understand him get compliments for his ability and it being the only positive attention he gets making the cycle even harder to break
i feel for that lucio man. being in low ranks is killing the boy for me because the second i come off heal boost or try to flank, all that poke damage the team doesn't know how to avoid suddenly accumulates and everyone is dying and screaming. i know i'm not perfect, i'm in silver too, but come on.
As someone who’s known people with that kind of addiction and if you are reading this yourself, stop using the coke. It’s legitimately destroying your decision making processes and ability to mechanically improve on your own. I would say get off of it first and stop thinking about overwatch so much and really open up to your loved ones. Because the metaphor with steroids is pretty apt, the thing about steroids is once you’re on them and you rely on it you won’t be able to come off you’re dependent and most of those guys stop using and lose all of the progress and muscles they worked for and used for along with gaining a lot of health problems as a result. It is genuinely pointless to ever even try that it feels like a cry for help or at the very least realize that the drug is hurting more than it will ever help not just in video games but in everything.
Think of how tanks normally are in most games, they take an absolute absurd amount of damage and barely do any in comparison to a dps character. In a pvp setting like overwatch, that simply would not work. Everyone would ignore the tank entirely because they don't do enough reliable damage to be a threat, specially on their own or if their target has a healer. In overwatch, they had to stray away from the original "tank" concept of RPG games and bring forth something that is not only able to be eliminated in a reasonable amount of damage regardless of class you're hitting them with, and allow them to do enough damage to actually be a threat and push enemies back or eliminate them entirely. Don't worry, I don't care for it either. I'd rather have tanks that are hard to eliminate except by DPS characters. DPS characters that can effectively act as the teams damage output, meaning supports and tanks don't even compare to them regardless of scenario. And healers that make any target they are focusing their heals on practically as durable as a tank unless you can burst them down or just one shot, maybe two shot, them with a critical. But then again I'm used to Super Mario balancing where it didn't matter what you get hit by, you have 1, maybe 2 hit points to work with, and everything does 1 damage, and it all plays down to avoiding getting hit.
here is a thought, nerf tank damage to the point that they can still kill a DPS with skill in a 1v1 vica versa said DPS can kill tank based on skill and mechanics and not just get 2 hit merked by spams
Shame that my thread about my spreadsheet for season 10 didn't get enough upvotes to even come close to these top posts of the week. I would find it really interesting to see it being discussed/reviewed.
In this case, it means the player are really bad at positioning but if they're still climbing would mean that they're really good at something else. But honestly, there's only a few compositions where I would agree you want a shield as a tank.
Ok when it comes to the idea of die less, I see it of more die less then your opponent so like better K/D. I admit having less deaths than your average would typically improve the games but would it improved the fun? idk 🤷♂
I thought about fun new abilities for every hero, but i m not done yet. MERCY - the beam connected to a teammate, can be disconnected by enemy bullets. Mercy can draw a saber from her staff in melee combat range. Ana - reset your sleep dart after hitting a sleep dart . Winston - can jump and hold onto objects ,like pillars and stuff. And gets a second body bubble Zen - give him a power kick that creates a very short lived barrier, his doom orbs are able to be meleed by enemy players Kiriko - no teleport anymore, but spiderclimb Enemy can catch the cleanse orb and use it for themselves
To a person that says they have terrible aim and are asking if they should play Genji - if you want to just have fun but you're fine with not climbing then sure, if you want to improve and feel like you're a carry then no. Stick to a hero that requires aim but has a consistent shooting pattern, like Soldier, and just play him over and over, get your aim to a better place.
Holy first, to the first guy, imagine damaging your body just to get bit more shinier pixel on screen. Its ok man, its just a game, just have fun, stay healthy, mentally and physically.
ANY performance enhancing drug should only be considered if you have maxed out your natty status and doing better is genuinely worth it mroe than the health risks. This goes for anything from caffeine to coke to steroids in sports. That being said. Coke is not worth it under pretty much any circumstance.
Play lucio if you want to learn new words or insults, regardless of If you are playing almost perfectly you will get more hate than any other hero, whenever your team isn't doing well they will look at the scoreboard and you will always be the problem.
Ngl, i play better while high. Even though weed makes my reaction time worse, i dont get anxious about my performance, and getting the boosted dopamine from getting cool plays is an absolute snowballing effect. I always go on winning streaks when high. Its also ego boosting, "lol, you're tryharding, and im just seeing pretty colors"
@Omar-uk1dq Comparing? Um, not really. More just commenting on the subject. You could say what I'm doing is much safer in comparison. There's still some downsides to weed of course, but it's no where as detrimental as something like cocaine.
I've been on Adderall(prescribed legally, I have ADHD and bipolar disorder) and I also noticed that I do way better on days when I'm on my Adderall...and I'm not ashamed hahaha
18:14 Thats why player like chazm a ball one trick love saying that its easier to play ball in higher rank because people know how to play without a tank on their side all the time And karq definitely want to say skill issue 😂
So not as serious as the first guy, dear god. but I have a mild weed addiction, when I can stay clean for over a week I stop feeling like I need it. My Problem is I have ADHd and Anxiety with no Diagnosis or prescription. Those two disorders make it very difficult to play Overwatch bc my mind goes a million thoughts per second thinking about almost anything but the game. and when I am thinking about the game I get caught up on all of my mistakes and beat myself up over it. but when I play High I do alot better, I think it comes down to weed making it harder to focus of things so i need to put in extra effort to play the game not leaving any mental RAM for my brain to think about anything else but the game

Game-sense, positioning and macro-decision making.
After getting off of drugs which is the most important step to improve life and focus there are some things that helps a lot:
1. A good sleep schedule and enough sleep
2. Regular exercise, especially cardio
Dear editor, this music is too loud for how upbeat it is, making it super distracting.

Nah translating balls of steel to ovaries of steel is insane lmao

You'll get a better feel for individual hero strengths and weaknesses, and you prevent the enemy from staggering your team.
i don't even shield my teammates as Reinhardt most of the time. i shield just so i can see what squishy i'm going to spear first lol
Keep in mind it's quick play so the game is shorter and less coordinated
@@AhmedHasb That's a good point.
Only a silver player would immediately assume to take drugs rather than just trying to practice to get better
I just dropped my ADHD meds from 120 to 60 mg and honest to God noticed gameplay prowess pretty immediately drop, don't knock it till you try
I exclusively play overwatch while smoking the ganja and honestly I've been able to make it to upper diamond so far on console it's pretty lit lol
As a support player with naturally poor hand-eye coordination, I've decided to play the no-aim supports and content myself with quick play. Would I like to have better mechanical skills? Sure. I'd also like to be 5 inches taller, but you can't always get what you want
Winners dont do drugs.

Been playing overwatch since its release, one of the best things that really helped me get better was to play a bunch of mystery heroes. Teaches you how to roughly play as/against all heroes, and if you ever want to use an ult you gotta stay alive!
I'd rather spam "hello" during a team fight for 22 seconds than respawn and walk of shame for 22 seconds.
what a wild one to start off on 😳😳
i think the response to the genii question was good, but you also forgot to mention a dive alternative to genii. i think sombra would’ve been a good choice, as she isn’t too aim intensive while still putting out good damage
"Ovaries of steel" is crazy 😭😭😭😭😭
16:37 This is why widow can make space more than any tank on some maps.
The lack of dopamine and withdrawls is actually hindering his performance by using cocaine
Man,that first one is really heartbreaking. I really hope he can get help for his addiction,he deserves better then that
"Why do Tanks do so much damage?" They don't. They just do damage for more time than dps.
It’s in the setup. I was hard stuck diamond on TV. I switched to monitor, always GM top 500
I want to tell myself it's fake but who am I kidding there's probably Bronze players popping PEDs too lmao
nah props to Karq for not shitting on the coke addict 😭 i couldn't
I feel bad for that guy. addiction isn’t an easy thing to get through and I could understand him get compliments for his ability and it being the only positive attention he gets making the cycle even harder to break
i feel for that lucio man. being in low ranks is killing the boy for me because the second i come off heal boost or try to flank, all that poke damage the team doesn't know how to avoid suddenly accumulates and everyone is dying and screaming. i know i'm not perfect, i'm in silver too, but come on.
Not me randomly deciding to watch this video and seeing my post lol (I was the last one)
Remember that boop can cc players out of position. That is one of the best inherent values of lucio
On the pharah thing the pressure doesn't work, its almost always pharah mercy and since pharah is so easy low rank they wont back off if the get hurt.
Oh no, the music again :(
Whats wrong with music? It makes video more interesting

How are diamonds saying they need a shieldbot?
Probably low diamond/high gold. Either that they got actually good aim but incredibly poor situational awareness/positioning.
It's good to see a lot of new players coming to the game.
17:02 literally wrecking ball
Yep, he can do some decent damage in solo engagements with the buffs but his whole point is disruption and stalling objectives.
18:13 KarQ overestimating the player base lol. You’d be surprised how clueless players are even into Masters
In this case, it means the player are really bad at positioning but if they're still climbing would mean that they're really good at something else. But honestly, there's only a few compositions where I would agree you want a shield as a tank.
Imagine taking adderall and still being hard stuck in silver. Holy shit.
Ana - reset your sleep dart after hitting a sleep dart
.
Winston - can jump and hold onto objects ,like pillars and stuff. And gets a second body bubble
Zen - give him a power kick that creates a very short lived barrier, his doom orbs are able to be meleed by enemy players
Kiriko - no teleport anymore, but spiderclimb
Enemy can catch the cleanse orb and use it for themselves
I hope that guy finds some help
I thought he was talking about energy drinks hahahahahaha
To a person that says they have terrible aim and are asking if they should play Genji - if you want to just have fun but you're fine with not climbing then sure, if you want to improve and feel like you're a carry then no. Stick to a hero that requires aim but has a consistent shooting pattern, like Soldier, and just play him over and over, get your aim to a better place.
Holy first, to the first guy, imagine damaging your body just to get bit more shinier pixel on screen. Its ok man, its just a game, just have fun, stay healthy, mentally and physically.
Buddy taking PEDs to rank Silver. WILD AF 😂😭💀
Brother taking coke to game is insanity. Reach out. The more you do it the worse your skills get when sober.
Cocaine for Overwatch? I'm so sorruy but LMFAO ... you got much better alternatives, with fewer side effects and longer lasting effects
ANY performance enhancing drug should only be considered if you have maxed out your natty status and doing better is genuinely worth it mroe than the health risks. This goes for anything from caffeine to coke to steroids in sports. That being said. Coke is not worth it under pretty much any circumstance.
How do you get better at console roller play?
3:30 there is a junk otp in champ in in eu so...
Ain’t no way you’re comparing weed to an extremely dangerous and potent drug like cocaine
@Omar-uk1dq Comparing? Um, not really. More just commenting on the subject.
You could say what I'm doing is much safer in comparison.
There's still some downsides to weed of course, but it's no where as detrimental as something like cocaine.
My ADHD ass thinking they were talking about like what they give for that, not what it turned out to be lol
If im plat 4 now, then maybe I if start using...
Junkrat will not take you far. The other team will always go pharah zarya and you’re screwed

Thats why player like chazm a ball one trick love saying that its easier to play ball in higher rank because people know how to play without a tank on their side all the time
And karq definitely want to say skill issue 😂
I thought he was talking about adderall for that first post, when you said it was cocaine I immediately said the guy is wrong and needs to quit
