    Hottake: I know stats don't tell the full story, but they should add the stats "Damage Taken" & "Healing Received (not including self heals)". If feel like these stats could help take some of the blame off Tanks who constantly get blamed for things they can't help. It could also show you if you're feeding. This could help the other roles too but I main Tank so thats where my focus is.

      or shift blame to the tank that is requiring every resource and cooldown because they refuse to play cover.
      then dps could, justifiably, blame their bad game, and the team's loss on the tank playing greedy and selfish.

      As a support it could help prioritize a bit. If I can see one DPS is actually be neglected I can adjust and help there.

    Hot Take: Mirrorwatch was always cursed to be underwhelming. Every hero deserves a legendary skin, there should be in-game events, missions, comics, and so much more.

      I dunno I found it to be pretty cool, and they could always continue with this idea in the future. It’s a lot of work to give EVERY hero new skins that look unique and new voice lines, so I wasn’t really expecting more from a single season

      maybe mirror watch could come back in a later season get more into the junkers vishkar and shimadas. some ideas are wrecking ball escaping the talon moon base, if genji was still human and hanzo was the cyborgs maybe mei was stationed in that volcano on samoa. built some lava tech and grew resentful of overwatch theres so many ideas

    Something to remember with 2CP in quick play was that the mode got to a point where everyone would leave instantly because they didn't want to play the mode.
    Especially since the leaver penalty rework, you can actually leave before heroes load into the map without any penalty (notice how theres no 5s timer before you can leave at that point).
    Also bit of a side note is that I think that's evidence that Push and Flashpoint are better modes than 2CP. Players who had the habit of leaving modes/maps they dislike from 2CP dont repeat that behavior in the new modes and other people don't leave it either.

    HOT TAKE: Every single negative effect should be cut in half if not more for tanks. Since there is only 1 tank we get every ability and more thrown at us and it makes it almost impossible to be a tank. Now I don't think this would 100% fix the tank issue but I do believe it would make a massive difference. (I also think anti should only cut healing in half for tanks not cut it fully)

      Nade shoulfd have a 3 or 4 second faster cooldown, and only cut 50% off the healing for any character.

    Hot Take: Junkrat should be balanced around some level of "Spam". Area Denial is a core component to his character and his focus on his kill combo at high ranks shows that his balance has been bad for a while now. He shouldn't get his kill combo back, but should get an AOE buff to compensate so his playstyle can properly go back to softening groups before using his high mobility to dive in and finish damaged opponents.

    Hot take: heroes feel way too situational now (like insanely situational) , unless you are a one trick there is really no reason to pick up an illari over bap, symmetra over reaper, and rein over ram in most scenarios. It feels so limiting especially when you have characters like Lucio, tracer and Winton who can be on any map in any team comp at any time and still feel rewarded for it. You have to work 40x as hard on niche heroes to come close to what others can do easily.

      i kind of agree with this, but also i don’t know if i agree with the heroes picked. those are all exceptionally high skill ceiling heroes, and i feel that if you are good at them, they should be viable. also, the reason symmetra isn’t buffed is because she is too inherently map dependent. if you buff symmetra to be viable on all maps, then she dominates her already viable maps.

    Hot take: tanks having reduced debuffs is necessary for balancing discord. Nerfing it rn just causes zen to be destroyed/clunky in squishy duels, while tenacity will allow for it to be less oppressive on tanks but stay impactful in keeping zen alive against dps/support duels. (Same goes for anti)

    Hot take: Given that blizzard canceled alot of the development of overwatch 2 and bailed on a casual pve lore based experience, the best thing blizzard can do now is go full competitive tournament mode and make guilds/in-game comprehensive tournament system that allows commentators to spectate

      as a non-ana main, she really does hurt. i honestly miss playing ana in the comps she was good, but there’s little reason for me to choose her anymore when other heroes can keep up the healing and put out more dps, and have better survivability at the same time. anti nade is the only reason i’ll choose ana now.

    3 Hot Takes in one (but maybe it can coocked well together)
    1 - I think DPS Passive at 20% was better than the atual 15% - it helps to value certan aspects of Tanks (like shields); one caviar though it should not triggered by damage falloff bullets - so you can trigger at 20% with Tracer bullets up to 10m of the target, but you cannot trigger it if the target is at 11m, 20m, 30m et.
    2 - well, if we do not give up on role passives, I think Tank Passive should be upgraded to "reduce negative effects and displacement by 25%" - Zen Discord affects Tanks at 18% extra damage (instead of 25%), Ana Nade reduces heals by 70% for 2.25s (instead of 100% for 3s), DPS Passive reduces healing by 15% for 1.5s instead of 20% for 2s and so on...
    3 - Tanks dont need that extra health even in role lock (c`mon Hog has 800 hit points) - of course they will need some extra balance, but Blizzard should convert some of this HUGE HP power masses into other part of their kits (for example: Rein goes down from 700HP to 550HP, but his hammer should swing 15% - 20% faster and, while he`s holding his shield, movespeed penalty should be 15% instead of 30%)

      idk about 1, but i definitely agree with number 3.
      i find it frustrating that there is basically nothing you can do in a 1v1 against a tank because they just overwhelm you with stats. you can run, sure - but that's not always an option. in my glory days i was 1v1ing ball and hog as ana. not to mention dva... fuck dva.
      for number 2, i don't think it will happen because it overcomplicates the game a lot. but its possible

      Unfortunately I disagree with the mauga nerf completely. Reins charge is very a obvious and visible but it results in a kill if done correctly, for mauga at best youd stun a character for like a second then they'd faide away something. Secondly mauga has no sheild or protection at all, taking away his reduction would just leave open to be cc. Rein has a sheild and your job as rein should be to count cc until you can charge because your sheild is your counterplay

    Junkrat grenades losing damage after a bounce would be a lot more in line with Demoman from TF2.

    Hot Take: since we have separate weapon skins, we should be able to mix and match weapons between different skins.
    But that would immediately cannibalize the concept of selling separate weapon skins, so it makes sense why Blizzard won't do it.

    hot take: armour and shield health should absorb damage that would go past its break point (if you have 50 shield and take 75 dmg it would be reduced to 50) this of course would break a lot of characters but with some rebalancing could make characters like zen not get brutally stomped by divers

    Hot take: Mauga's design has a lot of great potential if they can stop him from only functioning when he's clicking the enemy tank. He can be the longer range poke tank we're missing (no, Sig doesn't count he's just the least bad option for poke) who can force squishies off their angles if his kit is made to function on squishies i.e. make his passives apply a set amount of healing/overhealth over time when he lights someone on fire

    Hot take: The Ball "rework" wasn't actually a rework, just QoL changes to distract from the fact that Venture is a new counter to Ball.

      I agree, been playing him for a bit he still feels the same which I'm totally fine with. The changes just opens the door for new techs. Increasing his skill ceiling while also lowering his skill floor. About Venture I don't mind them too much eventhough it's another counter it doesn't change too much since wreckingball is bound to being countered anyways. So it feels fresh to not play against the usual Tracer, Sombra, etc.

      @@boterhamzakje7879 Ya, mostly when I said Venture is a new counter, it's less about the boop and more about how long they can just exist as a major threat in your backline, almost requiring you to peel for your team at times. That + the boop makes Ballin a lot harder than your standard mid range hitscan dps would.

      It’s very minor, people did act like they were gonna be able to peel away for 2 seconds and be back at full health. When the passive is really only noticeable if a team wins a fight and the supports were killed.

    Hot take: the addition of venture with their one shot combo feels like a slap in the face after the hp changes. A lot of breakpoints were ruined with the global changes, hanzo can’t even 1 shot headshot anymore for example. Then they add in venture with such a Fast combo, like what was the point? (I really like ventures design btw, it’s just a one shot being added after taking it away from so many other characters feels so comical)

      The problem with Hanzo isn't him being able to one-shot it's the resources he puts in for getting a one-shot. Venture needs to burn all/most cooldowns and give up position for being able to one-shot compared to hanzo using zero cooldowns at a safe distance from 20 meters away. That's why you didn't see tons of players complaining about rein being able to one-shot with charge because it's on a cooldown and having the risk of ending up in an unadvantageous position.

      ​@@boterhamzakje7879This is my opinion, I don't think that is a fair thing to say because they are different types of heroes. Heroes such as hanzo and widowmaker are snipers which means they are supposed to operate at longer ranges than venture. Venture is really strong unclose but can't do anything in longer ranges. Same thing goes for hanzo and widowmaker, they have movement penalties when they shoot which makes them highly susceptible to dive. Hanzo in particular, the closer he gets, the more accurate he becomes, and the easier it is to dive him. It is then the player's skill to determine what range is the best for him to be in because if he stays at the other side of the map shooting slow arrows he just won't get that much value consistently.

      ​@@Hsjackowwith hanzo you can just spam choke points and one shot heros. There's no resources used to do that unlike the work venture has to do or the aim widow has to do.

      @@I.K.E.L.O.S Spamming chokes are a part of what projectile heroes do, mei, junkrat, pharah all do the same thing. If people are stupid enough to all walk through a choke together while ignoring the hanzo shooting at them, then I think at that point any projectile character can get value from spamming. Everyone loves to say hanzo doesn't require aim which is clearly false. Hanzo does require aim and you are not gonna get really far with him if you can't. Diving the hanzo is also an option, instead of leaving him there just spamming for free, you can actually punish him by diving him. If people are unwilling to do anything to counter the hanzo, then can you really blame the hero for getting value?

    hottake, people keep trying to make 5v5 work but 6v6 worked, not well, but better than all of overwatch 2's life spand. if we got 6v6 back with the amount of effort they are putting into trying to make 5v5 work, we would resolve the issues and make this game less torturous for tanks, supports and dps.

      They want 5v5 because no one plays tank and to dumb it down a bit, it's basically a decision made for casuals. Unfortunately I don't think we'll ever get 6v6 back

      @@ArdaSReal they have stated on record about 5v5 was made primarily for queue time issues. I can argue 5v5 has higher queue times now than pre 2020 Overwatch when they gave us content. (I say this because sure, no one would be around for a game with no content, but if we’re going to compare numbers; 5v5 now is the same amount of effort or more than 6v6 pre 2020. And it has been a struggle)

    Hot take: we need a melee dps. Whether that’s reworking genji to have sword as his primary instead of ult or making a brand new character, I think a melee dps could be insanely fun and I desire it

    Hot take: I think they should add an on screen warning symbol for mei’s ult, like they have for dva’s and tracer’s. Unlike most other ultimates where you have either sound or audio queues to tell you where it is or is coming from, it’s very hard to tell where snowball has landed before blizzard starts and by then it is often to late to get away for most heroes. I feel that some extra visuals to help you know where you should run to would be great.

    Hot take: Hero reworks need to be way more experimental and different from the original character. For example they could rework junkrat by changing his steel trap for a different set of mines that have horizontal knockback, lowering his mine and grenade damage from 120 to 70, and make grenade airshots do 3x damage. This way you totally shift the playstyle to a combo skill shooter.

    Hot take: Season 9 actually LOWERED Zen's survivability even though he gained a net 25 hp buff. Flankers have more hp, can more easily hit him, and can reduce the effectiveness of peel through dps passive. Yet nothing will likely change bc discord is so hard to balance.

      ⁠@@Kemoclouthonestly? i agree. the problem is that without the 4 shot kill ana’s already very minimal direct kill threat is obliterated. if you’re getting jumped as ana, there’s not much you can do except hope that your team will peel for you.

      @@defaultdan7923yeah, that’s my biggest problem with maiming Ana. It was wild to 3 shot a Pharah cross map but not being able to 3 shot people attacking you makes her survivability way harder.
      Not sure if it should be reverted to 3 shots but everytime a Sombra hacks me I wish I could 2 shot and nade.

    Hot take: Not much of a hot take but I believe the devs should remove the whole “expected” and “reversal” mechanic from competitive it ends up becoming you losing more than what you gain and getting expected from matches you thought was a uphill battle, and getting a reversal when you get rolled. it makes climbing more frustrating.

    Perfect weather for a Hotteok: You could remove Widow, (pre-S9) Hanzo, and even McAss and Ashe would be all you'd need to fill those niches. It'd be healthier for the game by a mile and improve many high AND low Elo problems. I'm not for deleting heroes, but Ashe is a fairer and better version of everything Widow should've been.

    Possibly HOT TAKE: I think that in Overwatchi specifically, everything that can one shot should be tied to a cooldown instead of just being able to be used whenever you want like with Widowmaker. That way people could still have the possibility to ambush someone and get an immediate kill, like what Assassin Playstyle Hanzo players would do, but it could become less aggravating to deal with since you know if they miss they can’t try to one shot you again for a decent amount of time.

    Hot take: I don’t think Counterwatch is a bad thing at all, the real problem is the disproportionate effect it has on some heroes over others. One of the main reasons why tank sucks is because the meta is counter the tank, but as a pharah main that mainly solo queues, I can’t tell you how much I resonate with the feelings of tank players. So often after I roll the team on the first push, they instantly go dva, Ashe, cass, bap, illari and it basically just makes me go from dominating to just trying to stay alive until hopefully my team takes advantage of the space I create. So often we talk about “DPS players are having a great time, tank sucks” when in reality that’s only true if you play the meta heroes( I personally find sojourn, tracer, and sombra to be boring so I literally have like 5 hours total on all of them 😅)

      It's pretty much brawl from what I remember the key factor being your speedboosting the whole team trying to run everyone over. Also people used to play it with 3 or 4 tanks so it's kinda different now.

    Hot take: Orisa has substantially more skill expression then people give her credit.
    Orisa has a lot of base value by just existing true. But u can substantially increase your value through a higher skill cap then people give her credit for.
    I play almost all the takes and hover around Low GM and she has more skill expression then tanks like Zar, Ram, Mauga, Junker, hog, and Sig. For those characters it’s mostly just knowing how to get space, good positioning, and ability cycling.
    But for Orisa The value you can get from super accurate ability tracking, and ability to punish slight mis positioning by kidnapping people with spin, and always knowing which ult are up and enemy position to be able to shut down most major ults. Is more then the hero’s previously mentioned. I put her skill cap and expression more in line with rein.

    Hot Take: The root cause of the bad tank experience is 'no skill' tank counter abilities.
    Half of them aim themselves (Hinder, Hack, Discord) and many tanks have limited or no counter play.
    No counter play -> No player agency -> Not fun

Dva loses matrix and fly, doom gets hacked out of block and can’t get out, ball is hacked out of ball form, ram gets hacked out of block, and emp just destroys the barriers of zarya and Winston. The only ones with decent matchups are rein, queen and maybe hog only cause u can’t get hacked out of breather anymore. And rein is only good depending on whatever the other dps is with the sombra. Like if it’s a genji than hack won’t do anything cause they don’t have high shield break but if the sombra has a torb that’s gg for the rein

    Hot Take: Venture sucks as a team player. They go in like tracer to scrap those 1v1's but can easily get beat if they whiff their dash. their escape is wayyyyy to long to be reliant, so youre kinda stuck poking unless someone is low and dash in like genji to finish them off... only for the rest of the team to screw you up over it.

      I personally have them in the top 3 most annoying characters, up there with sombra and tracer, as a support main. Also, most folks seem to ignore them even when they are pinged when they dive under the tank and dps to attack the backline. Sure you can sleep them as ana etc but they got such a strong attack plus the bonus shields(they don't need to gain shields for every move they just about do) and if you include the dps passive, it's a slog to even play against and very unfun.

    I hate how creators say stuff like this, assuming only one answer is the best. They nerfed that part of Junkrat for a reason. Would it make him less cheesy? Maybe, I consider one-shot abilities to be incredibly cheesy but it never even solved his other problems to begin with. He just needs a light rework.

      Winston can drop a barrier. And Zarya's shields defend teammates.
      Roadhog, Wrecking Ball, Doomfist, Mauga & Junker Queen are the ones with no shields.
      The only issue with the whole Bruiers thing & Blizzard STILL hasnt committed to that. Meanwhile, any Tank with a barrier is still the important pick to have.

    Question: How are hero winrates determined in this game, considering you can swap heroes as many times as you want in any given match? Is it based on playing a hero for 51% or more of the match, or some other percentage?
    Like it's easy in Valorant since you can't swap at all, except for guns. Even then, those stats can be easily tracked because individual rounds are defined.

    HOT TAKE: Roadhog’s rework made him the new “nothing’s working, I’m going Hog”. It’s worse than Orisa and Mauga. He might not even be getting picks, he simply gets free value out of your tank being imprisoned and never dying himself. It’s terrible to play against. I have found in Diamond and plat lobbies, the enemy team just goes hog when they’re losing and my team often loses. Zen is really the most oppressive thing to Hog right now, but if the Hog’s DPS are on an anti-zen comp it’s GGs

    Hottest of Takes: Its time to revert Reaper's pellet damage to 6 and spread angle to 6. I understand why the dev's though that he would need his damage lowered and spread increased but with how the game is now there is nothing Reaper does that another dps can't do better other thank getting his ult nullified.

    Hot take: DPS have more impact on the tank experience than people realize. the quality of the dps of the team has a noticeable affect on the tanks experience/performance. by quality im not meaning match damage/kills but rather target priority, and timing. if this is bad the tank is in for a rough time even if your DPS is dominating the lobby, this just shows your picks are the wrong picks at the wrong time. this doesn't give bad tanks and out, but rather makes tanking even for a skilled tank extremely difficult. you can even getaway with 1 or 2 meh supports but DPS its far less forgiving.

    Hot take: Tanks should have something like League of Legends' tenacity, i.e. crowd control effects are weaker or have a shorter duration when applied to tanks. CC effects include: stun, boop, slow. Certain effects like Sombra EMP hack or Ana sleep dart, which are specific character related, should stay the same. This could work for Zenyatta's discord orb as well, dropping the increased damage to something like 15% instead of 25% when on a tank.

    Cold take: If certain OW1 heroes can get their ults canceled by cc, the same exact rule should apply to OW2 heroes. It is absurdly ridiculous that a Kiriko, Venture, Rammatra, Lifeweaver, or a Sojourn can have their ult lines interrupted by Sigma's 500lb boulder flying at their skulls, and still cast their ults without issue. It seems like a skill floor recession. Granted, some OW1 heroes like hog are in this boat, but the lack of consistency between those such as cassidy and mercy is disappointing.

    Hot take: why not introduce ENRAGED passive on tanks? If they keep getting CCed, or focus fired, make the tanks have increased attack rate or faster cool downs to discourage use CC on tanks. Tanks will also feel more effective or powerful after eating the CC thus more okay taking CC for the team.

    Hot take: Damaging buildables (turrets, traps, etc. *not shields*) should grant ult charge. The amount of buildables in this game has gotten out of hand and this would help balance the characters and comps because shooting a turret is effectively self-healing for Torb/Sym due to the opportunity cost of shooting that instead of them.

      If a team has Roadhog, Sym, Torb, Illari, Lifeweaver, you can spend literally the entire match just shooting at things that aren't other characters, which is super dull and bordering on double shield era of problematic if that comp was ever meta. You might as well make it cost the enemy team something more than just a cooldown.

    I think shield health should act as a layer that takes the shape of the character, think of it like rein shield but only for you taking your body shape, that way anyone who have it can be immune to any CC as long you have that blue shield health around you , once you brake it you can get CCed again , the main heroes who should have it are the characters who are easily CCed like Hog, Ball and muaga (maybe bastion), it doesn’t have to be directly in their health you can add it in their skills so you can have timed small CC immunity but not immortality since they still can be killed, this will open more counter play option rather than keep buffing hp and DR numbers and will also give the blue health somthing different since everybody have self heal now what do you think.

    hot take: projectile heroes like pharah and junkrat should get their kill breakpoints back. when i hit a flying echo with 2 direct rockets, she lives while her combo (thats way easier to hit) still shreds me. it offers players with a higher skill ceiling that can actually land directs on projectile heroes to maintain their threat against counters.

    Hot Take: The new Ranked system is just an elaborate scam on all of you to play the game more. This system punishes more than it will ever reward. I cannot tell you the amount of time I have grinded for 8-10 games to rank up, get on the the next day, and within 2 games, get 1 loss with volatile and LOSE ALL OF THE PROGRESS FROM THE DAY BEFORE. Grinding is an impossible feat without your group making up a majority of the team and Blizzard is preying on your urges to get that elo back because the moment everyone stops playing comp. The game dies along with the company. (For context, I was a Masters Genji player in OW1 and quit playing when brig launched, Came back in season 7/8 and cannot stand this game/company as it is)

    HOT TAKE: Hanzo needs his one shot headshot back in order to be viable. He just won't be good as his entire kit is built around the one shot. They can nerf his arrow hitbox to be smaller than pre-season 8 or take away either lunge or storm arrow.

I am also open to see what zero one shots look like in game but right now heroes like Hanzo and widow won't work without one shots. I am interested to hear what the alternatives are for these heroes if one shots are removed entirely. Currently widow is still viable with the one shot, but Hanzo won't be viable if they don't make changes to him.

The game just seems more off and frustrating to me , and I am higher rank In ow2 then I ever reached in one so I’m not sure . I would like to see bad positioning punishes more and less get out of jail free cards I guess. More skill required i guess .

I'm suprised about what you said last though as I feel like one shots are more punishing as supports can't just sustain them and bail them out. I'm kinda worried with the hp buffs and reduced burst damage, things might start to not die again.

    hot take: adding venture to comp right away wasnt thought through
    dont get me wrong, as far as balance and everything she was prob the best new hero added in terms of balance.
    BUT the amount of games i lost because 1) people were MAD that venture was just released and due to that they decided to throw (real example my first comp game of the new season was minutes after lauch "dude venture has been out for 5mins can you not") and my tank decided to throw. 2) people just not knowing how to play venture and my game being the sacrificial lamb.
    ive dropped a few ranks across dps and support and its not all to blame but my thoughts is did blizz think it through all the way

    just to add example 1 happened 3 times with different tanks/dps and supports
    and example 2 i know can happen with any new hero to any player i just noticed it the most with venture (obviously ill never know if a player if playing a new character unless its asked or said but venture was new so thats how i collected my thesis haha)

    Hot take: “easy” characters w good mobility HAVE their skill in their mobility(and other stuff in their kit ofc) like lucio, mercy, ball, doom, moira, etc. These are all “easy” characters to pick up but difficult to master movement on like 40 maps and provide value to your team. The amount of times I’ve stalled bc the enemy team couldn’t find me after fading or ga’ing is kinda funny lol.

    There has never been even a single time where my tank or dps would tell me no to working together. NOT ONCE in 700 HOURS. Sometimes for no reason at all there has been an Ana or Mercy who will refuse to nano/engage with me and be smug about it. I easily get to rank 200 as a dps player. Its not bc im playing badly thats just the type of person this role attracts. Obviously not saying all support players or even 90% are like this

    Hot take: The only way to fix queue times is to make the game 7v7. There are 12 tanks, 10 supports and 18 dps. A 2/3/2 role lock would evenly distribute the cast. The only reason dps is the most queued role is because it has the most heros.

      DPS is most popular because this is an FPS. If anything there are more DPS because the role is more popular, not the other way around.
      2-3-2 would be interesting, but I'm not sure the game could handle 14 players per game.

      I could agree with you (it could really work), but the problem if more of the hardware/software end - for example, Nintendo Switch barelly handle 5v5 Overwatch, could you imagine a 7v7??
      It can work, but Blizzard/Microsoft needs to remake engine from the ground, probably sacrificing Graphics quallity (and we have to agree, one of the bests aspects of Overwatch is visual, how pretty the game looks even on the lower settings)

    Hot Take: Lifeweaver was a failed design, impossible to balance and needs a rework. Constantly changing numbers does not solve the issue with him. My idea is that instead of a platform, he should have a sage orb (from valorant) where instead of ice, he throws a seed on the floor where it covers the area with vines, and enemies who step in that area take dot and are slowed, or some type of debuff. That will increase his value by a ton. Or maybe give him a passive where you heal more on critical allies (nerf original healing to compensate).

    Hot take: the mythic prism pricing isn't that bad. Yeah its absurdly high but you can just play the game and fill out a battlepass, and the alternative was simply not having the option to buy mythics before. The majority of players complaining its too expensive I would bet my life were not gonna buy them anyways, and if you did buy the prisms you had to go out of your way to do that, entirely on you.

    Hot take: Give Mercy her 30% damage boost back.
    IIRC the nerf was more to appease the masses who thought she was OP. Now that she's struggling in s9 and s10, I think she should have it back. With the global health increase, I don't think 30% damage boost will oppressively affect breakpoints. Damage boost is one of the main incentives to play her. Otherwise, you're better off picking another support.

    Hot take: Replace orisa spear spin with her shield from ow1 and shes nowhere near as oppressive. Keep her ow2 ult and the spear throw instead of “Halt!”. Play around with shield health and CDs, and you have a very good, niche, balanced tank for certain maps/situations.

    games being in arcade is not the same as a game being quick play, mostly because of role lock. Not that I want 2CP to return but the biggest argument against 5v5 for me personally is that it completely ruined arcades. Tank balancing doesn't make sense in arcade and team comps just get absurd and it doesn't represent any meaningful practice or skill expression of specific heroes. Chaos can be fun here and there or for a specific arcade, but that is just the norm for all arcades now. 3v3 is about the only one left that still feel viable to play for me. If 5v5 is here to stay we really need more thoughtful tank balancing for these modes.

    these high mobility tanks feel awful to play vs since they have such massive health pools and tiny cds, which goes against the design philosophy of high mobility characters. They also feel extremely disconnected from the tank role, supplying almost nothing but damage and cc for their team, in a role primarily focused on mitigation and sustain. idc that there's too many dps.

    Hot take: playing Widowmaker is starting to get worse for new players, nowadays whenever someone practices Widowmaker, even if theyve been playing bad they get counter swapped and dived every game, i really hope I’m not the only one but practicing widow is torture because the moment a dps dies they go sombra or the tank goes dva. In comp this makes sense but in quick play (which is where people practice) it’s horrid

    I think genji just need hes two damage on hes projectiles OR
    A faster fire rate and traval speed
    Maybe give back hes old damage to blade where it did 130
    Or give it a slight healing status effect
    Like make them glow purple for 3 seconds after getting hit where enemies get 30 percent healing reduction

    HOT TAKE: if you wanna play with friends that are that many ranks apart, play quick play. Get better together and then have the lower person climb. Don’t make grouping for everyone else worse.

      As a plat-master player, the new group system has made it impossible to play in a group. What would’ve been an insta queue last season in a group is now 20 minutes long and not worth waiting for the queue. Even solo queues are twice as long and the problem is exasperated trying to play with anyone more than yourself because even having a full group of plat and 1 diamond puts you in wide queue. Wide queue equals you don’t get to play.
      If you value playing with that person as the lower player, put in the effort to improve. If you are the higher player, consider spectating and giving advice to help your friend improve. I enjoy playing with friends but most friends that I meet in the game not irl are my own rank. I should be able to queue with them and not be punished just because irl friends want to play being massive skill levels apart.

    hot take: blizzard has gotten too scared for there to be any sort of negativity in their game to the point they are treating their playerbase like babies and its limiting the features they're willing to include. The cards screen and medals are gone because they didn't want people to be mean (i didnt like medals, but i miss cards). They also made matches end so quickly that you cant even speak to people post match to avoid negativity. This on top of the recent bans on people for cursing in chat is making me feel like this is a baby game. Trust me i dont like toxicity as much as the next person, being a chick i get enough of it, but taking features away because "sometimes people are mean" is a bit ridiculous.

      i think they have said that features like cards and LFG were just not ported over when they made ow2, but i genuinely think they decided its better not to have it because of toxicity.

    Hot Take: So long as non-committal one-shots exists, the game cannot be balanced. Rein charge is balanced because of the position it puts you in post charge. Widow one-shot is completely unbalanced as she can miss all she wants and can't be punished for it. I also believe junk does not deserve his 'one-shot' combo as it requires little skill and 0 disadvantage. Nerf Widow.

      Agreed 100% as a brig main. Mostly fun to play if not vs ram/Winton, venture, sombra or tracer or a combination of these heroes. 😂 Sadly there is usually at least one ignored venture I gotta deal with most games. Not very fun but doable to protect the other support.
