  • You have old beer cans and know nothing about them. Maybe you found one behind the drywall while remodeling your bathroom? Or, maybe your son left his childhood collection at home when he moved away to college. This video will help in sorting WHICH beer cans to recycle and which ones might have value. Condition, rarity and the beer can collecting boom of the 1970's can all factor in to beer cans having any value today. Back then, the MORE cans you had, the better your collection was. So, those cans can easily be found in great quantities, and are hard to get a dime for nowadays.
In short, cans that needed an OPENER to consume the beer (from the can) have more value. Triangle shaped holes in the lid? Cone or spout shaped top? You are on the right track. Even six pack containers they came in may have value to collectors. This video does NOT explain fine variations and such, but it does give a general guide of what to look for.
And yes,I collect them and BUY OLD BEER CANS. I won't brag that I "pay the most" but I'll treat you fairly, pay promptly and cover shipping. Drop me an email with a picture, and I'll tell you more. I told my wife when I made this video "If I only reach ONE person, it will be worth it!" I've connected with 2 folks so far, and we've both had smiles on our faces after meeting.

I love going out and collecting antique rusty junk to display. I once found a Hamms flattop beer can, opened with a can opener, at the bottom of a lake. It's covered in rust and holes, but you can still see the logo clearly.

when I started collecting in the mid 70s me and my friend were searching under s a bridge and I found a muddy can near the river's edge. I washed the debris off and could barely make out a 0 and 7 on the top which later turned out to be a James Bond 007 Malt Liquor. I restored it and was a great can.

Never considered value in an old can...out in the desert...when I find old cans...I always take a moment to think about the good time being had when it was drunk. I have only took one home...it was a pretty cool Coors peel tab. It;s in my garage on the water heater.

A good tip to remember is that pretty much anything (except gold or silver coins) made to be "collectible" will pretty much never be worth more than when it was purchased.

@@Ibuyoldbeer I love when that happens. Have a few signs in my own garage. I grew up on the north end and live on the east side.
The reason I'm watching is because I I'm trying to learn the value of a few cans I found. I found 2 Hamm's sunburst cans, 1 in good condition and 1 crumpled slightly. I also found 10 Schmidt city club cans that I think are form the late 50s, like everything elsei found nearby.

stopped collecting in like 1990. When I was in 8th Grade 1981. Beer can collecting was huge.
