Excellent Gary thank you. As a can dump Hunter and beer can collector from the 1970s I can say I've dug up many cans and the pull tabs are always interesting and I have dug up many punch top cans that took a church key. My friends and I used to scour the roadside dumps everywhere digging treasure hunting and collecting we all had vast beer can collections Indian arrowhead collections and much more thank you for the video
*"Just grab one of your one ounce nuggets"* You sure know how to make me blow spit at my screen😂! I wish I saw this sooner - I left some old cans I found way out on the river.. Ill have to go back and mail them to you
thank you!!! i got pretty much all the rust out of an old Budweiser can i found in the bay by my house. pretty sure it’s either from the 50’s-60’s. very cool and this method worked great!!
Thank you thank you I am so excited to try this on my cans. On that note just recently I found about two buckets full of old cans at one side down an old four-wheel-drive road by a creek in the Sierra Nevada mountains. Such a fun hobby to have :-)
Great video on how to clean cans very kind of you to share something 9 out of 10 collectors don't know your a good cleaner btw some don't get ad good as you got them looking very very nice great job and again great of you to share I use citric powder but think I'm going to use lemon juice and try a test tun on ocyliac just to see the results thanks again for sharing
Great video and teaching, Gary. Thank you. Will that same technique work on old cast iron (I typically use white vinegar but wondering if the lemon juice might be better)?
I'm figuring I'd toss that old can, and use that lemon juice to make me a tall glass of lemonaide, and go back in the cooled down house and gaze at your awesome pile of shiney....
Hi there awesome video and don't worry I am cheap too I think that is why I collect lots of cans too , I can't seem to find the wax oil video for how to shine the can I would love that one too
I will wait until I have several things to clean, I run them all threw the same lemon juice. It will take a little longer each time, so I think it gets a little weaker each time you use it.
Just came across your video. Great way to remove rust. Are there types of paint that will be damaged/dulled by the lemon juice? Can you leave a can in lemon juice for too long? any recommendations for different amounts of rust?
I bought a Coca Cola can that is the first Coke can series made with a bunch of rust. Unfortunately the bottom of the can was rusted through. Will this method work with my can?
I just dug up a pepsi*cola can today. It needs a bit of work. Would you mind suggesting what mixture of baking soda to water you use to neutralize the citric acid without going overboard?
I've used oxalic acid for years. It is sold in paint stores as an inexpensive wood bleach. A couple tablespoons of the powder will dissolve in a gallon of water, hot water is best. It also works on rust stained fabric from a spray bottle. I live on the coast where iron & steel rusts quickly so I use it quite a lot. Oxalic acid is very mild and safe to use and very inexpensive to use. When dissolving rust it will sometimes produce hydrogen sulfide gas (rotten egg smell.)
You can do several cans, each time it will take a little longer. After 3 or 4 cans if it takes longer than I want to wait and I have 3 or 4 more to do, I will change the solution.
A lot of the cans have spot that are rusted threw or are about to, I don't think you would be able to get enough pressure without blowing them out. It might work on a can that's rusted very little.
Got any Gold fillings in your mouth Jeff? Be careful your dentist might be a prospector and swap them out for porcelain! 😉 LOL..... "Here Jeff, breath into this mask, take deep breaths, that's it!" LOL
Man, that dog was thirsty!...LOL... Wow, the Olympia & Budweiser cans came out great Gary!..My body joints are a little rusty, I drank a shot of lemon juice for my rusty joints, I feel better now, I swear to God I do! LOL. 😉

That's really cool, thanks Gary.
@3:15 Love the dog getting a drink
Do you re-use the lemon juice? At least a couple times...
I will wait until I have several things to clean, I run them all threw the same lemon juice. It will take a little longer each time, so I think it gets a little weaker each time you use it.
10/4... You tight as i am$$.. Thanks...
White Vinegar is MAGIC used for rust removal. I've save many tools simply by giving them a over night soaking in the stuff.
That’s a BOSS old Bud can
Great video! Thanks for sharing.
Wow those can came out nice! Thank you for sharing this information. Great video too. Peace ✌
Great tips, thank you. Can you reuse the lemon juice after cleaning a can?
Thanks for the great video I just found some really nice1930s Coors beer cans and I'm going to try this method.
Thanks very much, curious question, why does the paint erode in some of those cases?
Very interesting! Thanks so much.
"if the can floats just grab one of your 1 ounce nuggets and set it on top"yeah I have loads of 1000 dollar paper weights lol. great video and channel
We used to light a firecracker and drop it into dented cans, under the right conditions this works perfectly.
Just came across your video. Great way to remove rust. Are there types of paint that will be damaged/dulled by the lemon juice? Can you leave a can in lemon juice for too long? any recommendations for different amounts of rust?
Love your videos. and your aventures.

Great method. New here from Rob, Rocky Mountain Life Prospecting
I bought a Coca Cola can that is the first Coke can series made with a bunch of rust. Unfortunately the bottom of the can was rusted through. Will this method work with my can?
You always have good stuff. Thanks for sharing
I knew I had a use for my one ounce nugget 😂😂😂
Very helpful! Thank you.
Vintage works too. Can also use it to take rust off of some old tools. 🙂
WOW ! THIS might make my cone tops sellable
I just dug up a pepsi*cola can today. It needs a bit of work. Would you mind suggesting what mixture of baking soda to water you use to neutralize the citric acid without going overboard?
Amazing work!
can vinegar be substituted for lemon juice?
I wonder if using compressed air would work on getting the dents out
Amazing results!

Would it work on old metal lunch box???
Nice vid I see we are thinking the same. I have a video on my channel that is practically the exact same video.
very nice video, thanks for sharing!
How do u keep them from rusting??? Or stopping them from rusting?
I rub them down with light gun oil or I give them a coat of car wax.
one ounce nuggets? anyway another great video Gary with great results.
well done ,,thank you.
Thanks very much for that info. 🙃
Also, how many times can you use the same solution.. one can or more?
You can do several cans, each time it will take a little longer. After 3 or 4 cans if it takes longer than I want to wait and I have 3 or 4 more to do, I will change the solution.
Could you rig something up to take the dents out with compressed air?

Thanks for posting
