      Once the access point is powered up, you can scan the QR code on the back of it to get connected. Just make sure you give the AP ample time to power up.

      @@simple_networks I have the samen problem but with a setup behind an ("external") login-wall (in a student house which provides a utp connection per room); The AP needs to be connected to the network in order to get it configured but this fails because the login-wall needs to be finished to get the internet connection (but the AP kills that connection before I can get that finished). • @simple_networks
      @simple_networks  Год назад

      That will depend on your device’s ability to roam. Unlike a controller based setup, the access points won’t aid in pushing devices between access points. You have to rely entirely on the connected device and in my experience, it’s hit or miss whether that will work or not. If you have multiple unifi access points in your setup, I would recommend using a controller.

    • @simple_networks
      @simple_networks  Год назад +1

      It’s creating a second WiFi signal. You can make the new Wi-Fi signal the same as your current signal if you want. Assuming you keep the SSID, Password, and Security settings exactly the same, devices should be able to roam between the two connections as you move about the house. The only thing you may want to change is the channel so that the two wireless signals don’t interfere with eachother.
