The All-New 2025 Toyota 4Runner TRD PRO & LIMITED - Next-Level Off-Road Capability

Toyota has officially launched a new generation of the 4Runner off-road model, the first all-new iteration in 15 years. The new model is available in 9 equipment lines, including the Trailhunter off-road version, and also gets a hybrid engine.After a long production run spanning 15 years, Toyota has finally decided it's time for its 4Runner off-road model to be refreshed. The Japanese manufacturer has just unveiled the new model, which will be available initially in the United States market.
The new generation Toyota 4Runner brings a completely new design. At the front we have a new grille, larger and half surrounded by a protective element drawn in the form of a bulbous. Also, the headlights are now smaller and integrate LED lights . Compared to the previous generation, the fenders are more flared and the doors are a bit more sculpted, especially in the lower parts. Even the rear has a new design, with smaller LED taillights.
The new model is available in no less than 9 equipment lines. Among them, the Trailhunter equipment is included, specially prepared for off-road. This trim brings 33-inch off-road tires, a special suspension, multiple roof-mounted bars for an external rack, a snorkel, bar-mounted projectors, steel skid plates and a different grille with the brand's painted lettering in bronze.Regardless of the trim chosen, the Toyota 4Runner has an angle of attack of 32 degrees and a clearance angle of 24 degrees.Rear-wheel drive, temporary all-wheel drive and permanent all-wheel drive versions are also available.
All versions get a limited-slip differential, and all-wheel drive also gets a transfer case, as well as Toyota's Active Traction Control and Stabilizer Bar Disconnect Mechanism systems. The latter system allows the car to lean more over rough terrain without the wheels remaining in the air.The new generation Toyota 4Runner is based on the TNGA-F platform, i.e. the same architecture as the Tacoma model. To begin with, the new model is available with two engines. The first brings a conventional 2.4-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that develops 282 horsepower and 512 Nm of torque.
The second engine is an I-Force Max hybrid unit, which delivers 330 horsepower and 630 Nm of torque. Regardless of the engine you choose, the Toyota 4Runner gets an 8-speed automatic transmission, and the manual transmission disappears from the offer.Finally, the interior of the new model is also completely revised, with a design focused more on the digital side.
As standard, the new 4Runner comes equipped with a 7-inch digital instrument cluster and an 8-inch central screen. Optionally, customers can choose a larger 12.3-inch instrument cluster as well as a larger 14-inch center screen.
Also as standard, the new model also receives the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 safety package, which includes: automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control , lane keeping assistant, traffic sign recognition and an assistant for the main beam of the headlights.
Toyota has not yet announced pricing for the new 4Runner. It is not known if the new model will also reach Europe.
