  • In this video I give you a hands-on, in-depth look at it in the 6th generation 4Runner in its Limited, TRD Pro and new Trailhunter trims, showing you the exterior and interior, breaking down the different things you get in these trims, as well as going over the mechanical specs, available trims, safety tech and release date. What do you think about the 2025 4Runner? Is it a worthy successor? Big thanks to Toyota for bringing me out to San Diego and providing me with this opportunity to film the 2025 Toyota 4Runner. #toyota #4runner

    The updated powertrains are terrific. The fact that 27mpg highway (based on the Land Cruiser 250) and torque higher than their old 5.7L V8 is possible at the same time is great.
    I'm sad on the length increase though. I wouldn't have guessed that they would make it slightly LONGER than the Land Cruiser 250. I was hoping it would stay a few inches shorter than the LC, closer in length to the existing 4Runner, which already has excessive front and rear overhangs. This new extra long overhang body has WORSE approach/departure angles than the outgoing model, despite riding on larger tires. With how much they're trying to chase offroaders with the TRD Offroad, PRO, and TrailHunter models, I would've figured this kind of thing would get some importance, and led them to not increase the body length by some 4-5" over the existing model.
    I get that it kept the Land Cruiser 250 wheelbase and probably fully identical frame length to cut down on manufacturing cost, but still. Maybe high clearance aftermarket bumpers would assuage my concerns. Beyond the offroading, I frankly like smaller SUVs, and feel like my 5th gen 4Runner is already as large of a vehicle as I would want. If my 5th gen was 4-6" shorter than it is, it would be the ideal SUV shape to me.

    • @thatoneotherotherguy
      @thatoneotherotherguy Месяц назад

      @@RUclipsrkt 23mpg combined, 25mpg highway. The 4Runner won't require full-time 4WD and looks way more aerodynamic (along with being 5" shorter in height), so it ought to get at least a 26mpg rating. Maybe 27mpg. We'll see. Even the nonhybrid 4WD might see 26/27mpg highway, based on the Tacoma, which it is more aerodynamic than.

There's SO MANY PROBLEMS with these newer vehicles, it's extremely hard to fix them a lot of software is proprietary to dealers only, then you have all this stupid turbo shit to go wrong. To each their own, but a few pounds of torque & stupid technology you're giving up reliability just doesn't seem logical for me. 4 cylinders?. Horsepower is not good. Only 275 HP
    The hybrid assist engine is the better choice, but what cost? Higher cost?
    If I am not wrong, if a company built something in a few hundred, the cost per unit is high, if the company built something in thousands, the cost per unit is low, so why are the Hybrid Assist engine vehicles in the Toyota industry so high in price ?
    All 4 runners should have 4 cylinder hybrid assists, no other way.
    Issues with 6Gen :
    The interior is dark, and the ceiling is dark too. Why does Toyota engineer things that all - Americans want dark interior? Why do we not have a light color option such as a beige or ivory?
    It's an off-roader if it is ? A limited interior is a truck base. This is not rock crawling , it's an SUV, not a Jeep, the interior should be fancy, not like a tank shape. This interior should be cool looking, not military looking.
    The gearshift sucks, and the passenger support handle next to the gearshift is a poor idea. Check other vehicles, you can find so much better options.
    If I love 4runner, it does not mean you can add shit, and you will like something. Please do not force me to love something which sucks.
    The ceiling is pretty low. This should be a little greater the size of the cabin.
    So the rear trunk window does not have a wiper ? why?

    The whole reason Toyota moved over N-TNG is that they want to make a modular design where they can exchange parts, which means that this could help with lower prices. But, this is not helping consumer . Every Toyota designed in 2 years is $10K higher.
    Thanks
