Love the X5M content, it makes working on these actually not seem 'that' terrible 😛. I replaced my reservoir and a after couple trips after turning off the engine my aux pump got loud and making a buzz rattle like sound. I immediately added more coolant (i think while the pump was still going) and that seemed to work and function as a way to purge it. I bought another aux pump a yr ago just in case it was dying though.
They are definitely not that hard to work on however on that same note, its a shame the engine have to come out for some simple things like starter motor and other little things- Yes good thing to keep a spare one just in case
Thx for the video. It made me understands the cooling systems on my x6m a lot better. If see these two faults popup but not every time i run the car. I did not do recent coolants jobs on the car. Does this means the pump is on his way out?
The pump is a common point of failure in these cars - You should be able to hear the pump running for a few minutes after turning the engine off when the car is at temperature.
Hey, can you make a video about how to properly vacuum bleed cooling system and which tools to use? I'm going to replace that pump and don't wanna make some mistake. Thanks
Hi, I'll make a video when doing the next car however the process should be the same for pretty much nay car. Buy a generic radiator vacuum kit and my suggestion is to do the process slowly without letting the gauge goes to red.
Please beo Could you wirte wheat you said or want to say in this viedo that i cluld translate it to my language I have this issue and wanna change it Afraid it damage after changing and it’s expensive Please Could you write me that i can translate or tell me what causes it damage after changing Thank you
The main ideia is that after replacing the pump you vacuum fill the coolant system before filing it up with coolant - that is the correct way. If you don’t do it there’s going to be air trapped in the system and you’re risking burning the new pump.
very informative video. voltage is easy to test at connectors but is there anw to test signal connector? i keep getting 2ea9 after changing 3 pumps and i tried your method by giving 12v to them and they are working normally
Thats a bit trickier, If you have 12v on the plug once the engine is warm ? if yes you need to test continuity and track the "S" wire back through the engine harness into the DME box (it could be damaged) . can you hear the pump working when installed in the car ? When the engine is hot the pump should run for a few minutes once the engine is switched off.
@@dnl35projects pump is not running after turning off the engine. is there anyway to run the pump through ista without having the engine warmed? because i cannot work with it if it is hot.
I have the fault code turbo charger coolant pump blocked BMW F13 M6, I changed pump x2 and now it’s back again. Any idea ? When using diagnostics to run the pump it’s working ..
@@dnl35projectshi, my engine S63TU….i’ll try to search the engine oil sensor in the manual but i couldn’t find. The only sensor i found is near to mechanical water pump which is labelled in manual as water/oil temperature sensor. It is very helpful if i can email you.
Hi, that has to do with your air cooling system AKA low temperature cooling system, which is basically runs your inter coolers. Check the coolant level and the 2 electric pumps - You can do the bleeding procedure using the accelerator and AC command from inside the car.
Hi James, absolutely not ! It’s expected to see the pump running for 5 or 10 minutes, possibly a bit longer depending on the climate/temperature where you live but definitely not an hour.
The main water pump circulation is termostatic so this one has to run more so the water in the turbo does not heat surge because thermosyphone won't make the water circulate through the thin orifise
Thank you... I will share to my groups🎉
Awesome, thank you! We have a bunch of videos on the N63 and S63 and much more to come.

So I just did this after getting a code and I had to remove both intercooler top coolant inlets to get the hose and wire off the aux pump

What software are you using to scan / trigger the pump ? I have not seen this code yet
Hi, what is the engine oil temperature when the pump failed? My engine oil temp increased by 10degC but no error code.
Hi, this is the coolant pump not engine oil - Your coolant should be at around 90C

I installed a new aux turbo coolant pump 1 month ago and it's already making buzzing noises (again!)
What pup did you use and have you vacuum filled the coolant ?

Thanks bro.👍👍👍
Does the pump needs to run even after several hours of engine off ??

It should have been brushless
I think they are brushless however due to the extreme heat their seals fail and flood the electrics
