I never liked Carol Danvers for different reasons than the ones you accuse people of. When I got to know her in the comics, she was this militaristic woman who just bosses people around and seems to be cold. I just learned that in the 70s, Danvers was portrayed as a feminist, which I could not find in the 2010+ comics that I have read. Another big issue I have is that Monica Rambeaux got phased out in favour of Carol Danvers. Not only was Monica, as a black woman with a huge afro, a much better poster person politically to be Captain Marvel than platinum blonde white Carol with her military jargon. Monica Rambeaux was also a warmer, nicer character. I liked her much better. Admittedly, Monica Rambeaux was completely over the top powerful and that is why she was dropped. But, as the video shows, the same applies to Carol Danvers. Where are Captain Marvels disadvantages? A superhero who is too powerful is boring. That is probably the main reason I don't like Captain Marvel. If there has to be a Captain Marvel, the honour belongs to Monica Rambeaux, imho.
Y'all crazy if yall don't think Marvel did a great job so far with her character. Also, if this had been our introduction to the MCU instead of Iron Man, I think people would have more respect for Brie as Carol. I think this was done better than any Iron Man and the first two Thor movies, actually. It's astonishing how biased people can be. In fact, considering this takes place in the past, it should be watched chronologically before any of the others. It is a marvel.
The thing is when marvel started with Iron man it was like pioneer for the whole marvel universe . I don't think if they released captain marvel earlier marvel would have been what it is today. Also technically captain America is the first avengers .
This movie is awful compared to iron man 1. I hope that was a joke. If they want to be progressive they should create original female characters. They create a bunch of original male characters and choose to gender change existing male characters. Still good movies. Because she is a woman. Just this. When there is a Superman, it's nice and cool, but, when is a powerful girl... they say something like: Oh, no! Marvel is feminist and bla bla bla.
Most were probably expecting Adam Warlock, who was hinted at during the end credits of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. He was a crucial element in the Infinity War comic. Captain Marvel just shows up as a last minute edition to the Avengers roster with no past hints about her existence. You'd at least expect that a hero from ninties would be the talk of the galaxy. Then there's the issue with Nick Fury's eye. How something that was meant to be the result of unforgiveable betrayal, turned out to be a cat scratch. Personally, it would've been much more interesting if Carol and Fury had some kind of falling out. And that the Avengers was originally meant be a defense against her.

@@brianmiller5750 I don't think they're going to do that. I've been waiting and ever since Disney took over Fox to get those rights back we've still yet to see anything regarding the FF or the Xmen. What they are doing is pulling out minor characters and finding out what will work vs what won't. I think we'll basically be under that format until Disney can officially get back SpiderMan which with the blending of titles, ie Alfred Molina reprising his role as Doc Oc in the next Spiderman is a cash grab for Sony before handing the rights back to Marvel. I think that Disney will trade Aliens and Predator both to Sony as I don't see Disney wanting to hold onto very successful horror properties that they really wont do anything with. Better to use them as bargaining chips for the rights they do want back and Sony is the only one left. And they're not going to let go of Spiderman without getting something as valuable in return. I think Aliens vs Predator Franchise will do it. So we'll see Ms Marvel and The Ten Rings, Loki and other characters like WandaVision until they're ready because if they were, we'd already have an Xmen series of another FF reboot. The problem is, all the actors have already done quite a few Marvel movies. Hemsworth has already done like 8. Evans did like 11 or something. They're done with superhero movies. They want to get back into other projects and not be type casted. And let's face it. This is not the 616. Iron man and Captain America are both ready and present during the Secret Wars... Not dead. I can't wait for them to get all the rights back so we can finally see an actual factual representation of Marvel 616 Version 1 and 2 Comics.. We still haven't see it yet.
I really don't understand people's hate for carols character. Did people actually watch the whole movie? I notice a lot of people comment that she doesn't have much character. Uhm....you guys do know that a big part of the movie was that she forgot who she is, right? She's obviously struggling throughout with that and her new persona is based off of a lie and once she finds that out, we'll I'm sure that's gotta be jarring. Her circumstances essentially keep causing her to have to keep questioning her own identity. And honestly I loved Carol. She balanced that well with the small parts of her personality she did manage to keep such as her sense of humor, determination, etc. What irritates me most is this. The first two thor movies sucked, it wasn't til the third that people found true appreciation for Thor. The first captain American movie also kind of sucked, but once we gave him more screen time and better movies that improved and now he's beloved. Carol gets one bad movie, which honestly isn't even bad, and where's her second chance? She only gets small cameos in other movies which does make sense. There haven't been many opportunities that made sense for someone of her power to come back and the times she did made sense how they did it. If she comes in too soon, there's not much of a fight. I understand she maybe didn't get as much time to show the emotions people are looking for behind their heroes, but in all fairness that's cuz of her struggles to find out who she really is. We don't really get to see much of the aftermath of this because Carol is determined and is trying to save the day and right some wrongs. I don't think its fair for people to give up on her character just cuz of one imperfect movie. If we can give Thor and captain America a second chance, then why can't Carol get the same benefit of the doubt? Movies only get made if there's money to be made so all these people hating on her character are the reason we don't get proper captain Marvel content.
@@just_me0719 that's on the writers, not the character. I think she did well with what she had. And thors arrogance was redeemed in that movie because it was a huge plot point. The best female avenger. My 1st encounter w/her was the x-men animated 90s show. The 2nd was 2000s avengers Kurt busiek, Alan Davis run. She returned from being Binary back to being Ms. Marvel but she called herself Warbird. It was here that she retain her original power set(super strength, flight, durability) and got new ones like energy absorption and her photon blasts. She calls herself Warbird as those are the names of jet fighters. Being a pilot, air force, she is essentially the best at fighting in mid-air, like a war plane. During this run, she was feisty, trying to prove herself, punch first ask questions later. She is alcoholic, she was not perfect but she is a soldier, she killed the master of the world to ensure the avengers win which led them to court martial her and her quitting. During the House of M, when Scarlet Witch gave every one their wish. She was called Captain Marvel (the 1st time she was called that name) and was the greatest super hero (human). Through the years she struggle finding her identity. Changing from Ms. Marvel to Binary to Warbird to Ms. Marvel again to Captain Marvel. She was the least perfect. Her struggle with her identity was because of Rogue. Rogue stole her personality and yes those who love Rogue was actually loving who Carol was as essentially Rogue stole her personality. Rogue became confident because of her. Carol building herself back up was character development. Now she is carries the mantle of Captain Marvel. Marvel a name that is very important for Marvel Comics. She nows stand side by side to be as iconic with Cap. Iron man, Thor and Black Panther and her. To me, (we all have our own personal faves) Those 5 are the most iconic of avengers.

1:21 Just noticed the score, has this video game quality kinda reminiscent of score in Tron- which has an amazing set of scores. I’m starting to see that the directors really tried hard on this movie- it wasn’t that they didn’t have a vision. When I listen to the movie and see the angles, special effects, the choreography… there’s a lot of passion in this project. It’s a “bad” movie for not having the same exact depth we’ve come to expect from previous movies. But this really is a decent film. It has a right idea and I’m glad the director’s didn’t hesitate trying to implement it.

@@ricardodesousa547 Because Superman is a developed character. Captain Marvel is a character trying to be Superman without character development.

Not dead.

Movies only get made if there's money to be made so all these people hating on her character are the reason we don't get proper captain Marvel content.
exactly!! she has flaws as a character just like everyone else she’s newer and got a movie instead of a show so it’s gonna take time

Hey just had a question that in the first scene of Avengers Endgame where Captain Marvel is with Avengers discussing about finding Thanos. So if you observed her whole outfit do you think Captain Marvel is wearing her same pants of her superhero costume?
I feel like thanos got lucky that scarlet witch wasn't full power and imagined how to push away captain marvel
Nah I feel like scarlet witch got lucky he didn’t have the stones when they fought and she was very lucky that she had heavy plot armor. If not for that she would’ve gotten killed
@@maninthemirror1047 lmfao another Thor fanboy…
@@maninthemirror1047 best do some research buddie SW would of destroyed thanos at FP even with his stones she isnt the bringer of chaos for no reason
@@tay_hilfiger197 nah actually a captain marvel fan boy
@@blizZted dude are u serious right now. There’s literally no way in hell she would even stand a chance against him with stones. She couldn’t even beat white vision.
She:
Movie: "UwU I destroyed a ship and now I'm done."
If only Marvel had shot Captain Marvel’s solo film first, then she would’ve had more onscreen time in Avengers Endgame but they did the opposite so that explains the lack of Captain Marvel in Endgame.
I'm happy she didn't appear alot in endgame. Let's be real, her character has nothing to like; she's just a perfect hero made so feminists can enjoy her, she has no problems, no emotions, etc. and her fans probably only like her because her powers look cool, either that or they are feminists who don't care about the story just about how the main character "shows how powerful girls really are". And before you accuse me of hating her just because she's a woman; I don't hate female heroes as long as their whole story is not about feminism and nothing else. Wanda is my favorite avenger, Wonderwoman has some feminism in it but she's still a likeable character because she has a real story which isn't just "girls are strong"
@@zarkahmed3199 dude 😂
@@zarkahmed3199 Idk but wonder woman is the most feminist a female hero could ever get
@@zarkahmed3199 i feel like she was mostly rushed for endgame; the whole draw for captain marvel is meant to be the quiet, stoic personality we see out of her
@@zarkahmed3199 You sound like a total incel dear god
I love Captain Marvel. She's the best Marvel super hero. Brie Larsen is the best Marvel actress ever
3:17 is EPIC TO HEROES COSMIC
I can't be the only one to noticed that Adam warlock and Captain marvel have almost similar abilities
0:00 That time where you become immune to everything and can shoot bullets out of you're eyes-
captain marvel is so badass!!!!!
I absolutely love her
the men can keep crying and dying about hating captain marvel she’s amazing and empowering as fuck y’all can’t take a rejection and are pissed off because she’s not sexualized and shown as a weak little girl.
As a man, those men are disgusting
@@daili12 yeah u sound like a feminine man
@@drpankajakshan8204 I'm not, but if I am what's wrong?
@@drpankajakshan8204 read your comments, you're the bad one here.
@@daili12 nothings wrong, ur body is not producing enough testosterone and that’s not ur fault
You know if they really want to sell the grunts characters make when they're in CGI mode and they're hitting/getting hit by stuff they should actually be bumping stuff into the actors when they're recording. It doesn't sound like they do that.
The shot in Age of Ultron where black widow is riding hulk is a pretty obvious example of how fake it can sound for the situation.

i love how she can fly and hurt people when she did the beam levitate
I like how she’s stoic and militant. It separates her from the other female characters in the mcu
Oh man that's pretty cool! Her powers reminded me of my two favorite Heroes Deku and Bakugou powers you guys can tell superhuman strength and the blast too.
I want to be just like two of them so I finally found her she's perfect for me to accept my purpose but with Todoroki and Deku's power. 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
