100%. With much more media the attention on artists (as well as actors etc.) is more spread out than previously. Bruce is brilliant on so many levels. And it’s cool to see him acknowledge Taylor. Who’s also an incredible writer. I saw her last arena tour and was blown away by her performance. The stage was insane.

Not that she needs needs any validation , but it's so great that an Icon the stature of Bruce has nice things to say about Taylor and her work! She works hard and is a testament to her that one of the greats considers her good.
Springsteen fan since 77 and this is my take on it : the people who are still into music have artists like Swift, Halsey and Lana Del Ray - the rest can obsess over social media and image. History shows us which group of artists will still be making music 30 years from now.
Bruce has a very humble and wise perspective on his monumental place in rock history; despite his own enormous talents he doesn't hesitate to admit he benefited from an industry golden age whilst fully endorsing and empathising with new generations. He's an excellent example of how a rock star should age gracefully
Hearing The Boss saying this melt my heart! I knew he was a good person, but to see him talking about other genres/artists in a good way is very good, I'm so happy.
It is nice to see. I am of the Bruce generation somewhat age wise. But I can certainly appreciate how talented Taylor is. Same with Dua Lipa and Halsey.
@Martin 1222 claiming to be Christian is not an accomplishment at all lmao ... Do u know how many millions of lives were lost in the name of religion, especially Christianity? 💀💀

How very true maybe they could do a collaboration together when Taylor’s doing her doing her tour, and have Taylor sing with Bruce and the E street band
God bless music Icon Bruce Springsteen for recognizing & acknowledging Taylor's mastery & expertise with singing, songwriting & navigating business. At a time that can only be described as talentless mediocrity of so many performers in the music industry, Taylor Swift gives hope that there's still value and a future for poetic substance and harmonic melody.
There's twice as many people in the world compared to when Bruce was just starting. So there's huge Music making going on but it's not just funneled into radio now, it's fractured over many different mediums
The Boss and McCartney both have this same perspective of embracing good, new things. Words and music will always sound different, evolve, slam the brakes, hit the gas, experiment, become more complicated, and become more simplified. That's the beauty of expression. Bruce knows that. Curmudgeons only slow their own development and minimize their own life experiences.
Billy Joel compared Taylor Swift to the Beatles. Many misunderstood what he was trying to say. Taylor Swift is a great artist among many artist in our days, just like the Beatles were the best artists among others in their days. I appreciate legends giving credit to young talented artists.
Everything changes. Nothing stays the same. I love most music. I went to see Judas Priest a couple nights ago. Great band. Fun music. I also enjoy Bruce and Taylor.
Typical question by Howard where he leads the guest trying to get them to complain, but they don't, and say something encouraging instead. Good on you Bruce!
I'm a dinasor. Taylor Swift is incredibly gorgeous and I'm sure extremely talented as she sells (when tickets can actually be sold..) out stadiums! I'm totally embarrassed to say I can't name one of her songs and I'm a musician that's been around a long time. Of course that's on me for not staying up with things....all on me.
I don’t think rock is gone. Music hasn’t been a priority in school. Rock to me is a young teen’s anthem. Hard to have rock music without a lot of kids learning to play.
Rock music thrived during it's heyday because of its energy and creativity. By the late 2000's it became formulaic and stale. Rap took over because of its energy and creativity and became the new thing. Rock and Alternative are still doing just fine, it's just not the #1 genre anymore
What he said in the beginning is the most important thing. People don't cherish music the way they used to because there are so many forms of entertainment now. And once self driving cars become a thing, music will be largely dead compared to what it used to be.
Not a fan of Bruce’s politics, but the Boss is the Boss, and every time Glory Days or Hungry Heart or Born in the USA comes on the radio I’ll crank it, go home and attempt (without a ton of success) to learn it on my guitar.
One of the things I absolutely love about technology. I can listen to any music I want. I can discard any artist as well. Last time I heard a peep from Taylor... 2014, maybe 2015.
Things have changed with music--yes--on the one hand--much tougher starting out in the business. Artists and bands used to tour to support an album. Now, as Americana singer/songwriter James McMurtry says, artists and bands put out albums to support touring.
Because of this I'm willing to give her another try. I hated the first song of hers that they played a lot and I've dismissed her ever since. I respect the Bruce though.
Well things have changed and new styles have arrived but it also shows that people are very basic when it comes to entertainment and can listen too or watch fuzz on a TV and be fine with it lol rock creates a passage way to the soul that most other music can't do.

Exactly, it's a lot easier to get known but it's also a lot harder now to stand out from the pack.
Or get attention.
