Bruce Springsteen is the modern American bard and storyteller. My most favorite Springsteen piece is not even a song, although all of his are spectacular. What resonates most strongly for me is the story he tells in his 1985 live concert album about how he got rejected at the draft board and what is father said when he got home. The way he tells the story is amazing.

As Howard said in the interview, it seems a lot of people had one parent who might not think they could amount to much in life. It is easy to dismiss Howard Stern if you just listen to his regular show, but his is indeed an amazing interviewer. His conversation with Dave Grohl after the death of Kurt Cobain is one of my favorites of all times.
They dismiss him based on his past reputation but he really is the best interviewer out there...he asked the questions that people really want to know about. I knew this Bruce interview would be fantastic.
Howard talking about his parents just made me wonder how they were doing so I did a quick Google search. I had no idea his father passed away this year. He was 99. And also Howard apparently addressed his moms health as well saying it not good. A lot of physical pain among other things although Howard never got into details.
Howard was as offensive and classless as possible regarding his parents, before his dad's death -- and even after. He disparaged his father for not having enough money and Howard had to pay for expenses/food. He even made fun of his mom's breasts and how they deteriorated. Howard is a sick, sick person. He's worth a billion but complained about paying for his parents' food. His parents' total expense is a decimal point to Howard, but he mocked and disgraced them. Even AFTER his dad died. Howard is 68 years old and he STILL complains how his parents treated him as a child. He's disgusting.
Howard didn't even go to his dads funeral and doesn't even visit his mom whose sick. He's afraid to leave his house, just like howard Hughes. He's a narcissist
I can't believe how much I didn't like Howard Stern at the beginning and how much I like him now. So if there was hope for him and hope for me, well there's just gotta be hope for everyone.

Bruce is a Legend- not a doubt about that! I rate any new album by how many times I listen to it in full and how often I go back to it. I’ve played the new covers album twice and that’s it for me. I’m a long time fan of all he’s done but I’m not a fan of covers albums. I probably won’t play it again. Bruce can do whatever he wants and he has nothing to prove. I have no grudges against anyone who loves the new covers album. It’s just not for me. Give me a set of new originals please.🎹🎤🎸😎

Hey Joe, John Lennon was a nice guy! You mention an incident during one of Lennon's worst periods and say how terrible it is to learn one of your idols turns out to be a jerk. I expected better from you! John Lennon was very open about his life, his early traumas, and what it meant for the Beatles to live in this intense scrutiny of the media. Right-wing churches condemned him to death because he wrote "Imagine." He lived the rest of his life under threat of assassination, and yet he still managed to write some beautiful love songs, anthems (Power to the People), and the soundtrack of our lives before Chapman murdered him. Did you know that in countries all over the world there are "Lennon Walls" where the lyrics of Imagine are written, and even if the walls are painted over, the lyrics appear again almost immediately? Please give Lennon some credit - he gave his life for rock and roll.

Great job Howard stern enjoyed it a lot
BRRRUUUUUUCCCE!
❤️ the BOSS!
Howard Stern is no slouch, either!💜
Stern is such a legend
Great interview 👍what wonderful guy's
I remember Howard's version of the Hollywood Squares. It was awesome.
The Billy Joel interview was brilliant, as well.
He's disgusting.
j*ws live long time
No idea he passed either. RIP Mr Ben Stern
Howard didn't even go to his dads funeral and doesn't even visit his mom whose sick. He's afraid to leave his house, just like howard Hughes. He's a narcissist
@@adamclark9004 He visited his mother the day before he interviewed Bruce. He sees her often and speaks of it on the radio. This is just made up.
Looking forward to this!
I can't believe how much I didn't like Howard Stern at the beginning and how much I like him now.
So if there was hope for him and hope for me, well there's just gotta be hope for everyone.
He was funny. Now he is a lying tool.
Fathers, like mine, theirs, them and I... we push we expect we want our sons to be their very best! In doing so we often disappoint hurt and deprive them!
Such a BJ piece. Stern's hated music his entire life and mocked Bruce like crazy, and now people are acting like he's been a lifelong fan.
I am very humbled
Howard is the MAN!!!
huge Howard fan since the 90s, E then sirus. wish he had more stuff on you tube now days but I get it.
BA BA BOEY!!!
Howard hasn't left his basement in 2 years 🤣😂
Haha I like this comment
Bruce is a Legend- not a doubt about that! I rate any new album by how many times I listen to it in full and how often I go back to it. I’ve played the new covers album twice and that’s it for me. I’m a long time fan of all he’s done but I’m not a fan of covers albums. I probably won’t play it again. Bruce can do whatever he wants and he has nothing to prove. I have no grudges against anyone who loves the new covers album. It’s just not for me. Give me a set of new originals please.🎹🎤🎸😎
Love it !
I love Howard’s take on Joe and Mikkas love making
Howard is the best, underrated interviewer of man kind. He goes from serious to silly in a heartbeat.
Thanks to who ever shared this story..it resonates with mee to the core of a father and son relationship I too had with my own Father and how it took a lifetime to find my own true voice and being...May others also be uplifted and find there inner peace of what love and inner peace is truley all about and to show up better bigger and stronger than they ever did...regardless of there own errors as a parent and father figure......God Bless all who where Victim"s of this horrible and life altering experiance...
I remember hearing Howard admit on his show he didn’t become a Springsteen fan until the Broadway show just a few years ago. Babba Booey is a lifelong fan.
Bruce looks the way most 73 years old men should look.
Indeed! 73 looks mighty fine on Bruce. What an Icon! 💕💜💕🎶
I suspect Bruce has had some works done.
Whereas a bald Stern in his jet black nylon wig whilst wearing sunglasses in the basement looks everything a 70 year old grandfather shouldn't look like...
Not everyone can afford to botox
Joe's always gotta talk about himself first. 😆
WOW!
Why doesn't Ted Nugent like Springsteen?
Is he jealous?
A lot of credit to Howard and his demonstration of respect.
No Sirius XM, and can't afford HBO either.
Over the top
Like always
Not once in the interview did Howard mention making duty playing golf or Beetlejuice. This is maybe the Dr. Phil show with Oprah.
Rock on.
Wow. Just wow.
