But no production company wanted to take him up on his idea, so he decided to make a film instead with the funds he inexplicably acquired. He just forgot to change the name of the project.

Not gonna lie, I had a dream that there was a sequel where Johnny survived the gun shot wound and falls into a coma Years later, he wakes up, having gone insane from the damage to his brain stem. He then proceeds to hunt down all the characters from the first movie. I was incredibly sad when I woke up and realized that this sequel didn't exist
I heard though that the movie cost around $6 million to make. For a couple of reasons: He had sets constructed, he filmed many scenes twice on different sets because he didn't know which would look better. (Like the scene with Danny and the guy with the gun was filmed in the alley set and the rooftop set). And the biggest cost of all he didn't know if HD film or 35mm would look better (or just didn't know the difference) he had two different crews filming with both sets of film simultaneously (one crew on 35mm and one crew with HD). Has to be seen to be believed! Doesn't hurt to try... I strongly recommend you guys react to the NC review of Signs (2002). I heard a few of you say you like it, so I think your thouhts on his review would be interesting.
