You guys are the ideal reactors to Doug's content, for many reasons. Either your age so you understand more of his humor, or how you're a creative as he is. Just as nerdy, on the same level of knowledge of movies and same drive to want to make something everyone can enjoy. Anyway, that's why I like watching your NC Reactions.
@@Zelink108 I have. It’s the reason I watch the old NC videos through reactors. That way I can enjoy Doug’s old content without worrying about supporting him
when I first saw the movie I thought it was stupid that It took the form of a giant spider but when you read the book it goes into more detail. Its True Form isn't a spider it's something else but the human brain can't comprehend it so it looks like a spider to them but in truth it's something way more powerful and evil also the book says that It is some kind of god or being from another dimension kind of like Bill from gravity falls. After reading the book I came to appreciate the movie
6:02 In the original novel, Bill's Dad Zack ignored him until 1982 because he thought Georgie died because Bill hadn't been watching him closely enough. As someone who knows family is supposed to love unconditionally literally no matter what, I don't have much respect for his father in that moment.
he would hate the later seasons of my hero academia because deku has so many flashbacks to the same moments try having a shot every time you see him flashback to the day all might says he can have his power you could probably die
In that one scene where Doug and Rob were riffing on the suicide scene, I was expecting the camera pan to reveal *'IT'* painted on the wall, but then pan left to reveal that what was actually painted was *'BULLSHIT'.*
He almost was. He was supposed to voice him in Batman the Animated Series, but the producers thought he was "to scary," so they replaced him with Mark Hamill.
I will admit, the fact that one of It's victims was named *Georgie*, did creep me out a little bit as a lil kid. And It *_did_* kind-of freak me out initially, as a kid, as well. But then when I watched _Part_ _2_ of this miniseries, and watched It do his Prince Albert and Running Fridge jokes, I immediately stopped finding him scary and found him to be hilarious.
@23:56 I think the reason Stan was naming the birds was as a sort of coping mechanism to help him deal with his fear, everyone copes differently and his might have been stating facts to himself to, for lack of better phrasing, ground himself in reality so he could more easily overcome his fear, even if only temporarily. But hey, that's just my opinion.
My biggest problem with the mini series, besides all of the other changes, is that Pennywise actively tries to kill the kids every chance he gets in the book. Ben's initial encounter is with Pennywise in the form of a mummy hovering on a frozen lake. And it's scary as hell! He's hovering with his face down, holding a balloon that's floating against the wind, and he has no shadow. The mummy starts to come toward him instead of just disappearing, and he tries to lure him onto the lake. Eddie gets actively chased by Pennywise in the form of a leper (you can actually see this in the new trailer). Anyway, I guess my point here is that it's a poor adaptation, and you shouldn't base your opinion of what is widely considered Stephen King's magnum opus on a mediocre mini series.
@@Wildcard-Jack-47 If you read the scene in context it makes sense. It's squicky yes but it's actually an interesting commentary on growing out of adolescene/coming of age. It's interesting that people are more offended by preteens having consensual sex with each other rather then all the violence that occurs in the story. So yeah. I agree it's a weird scene but overall it makes sense in context. IT is still rightfully King's magnum opus.
Makes more sense. For a while I truly thought he was downing shots of Knob Creek left and right 😂. Although I did know that he was faking the drunkenness for the video.
6:55 You can tell the phone ringing sound effect was ripped from a record, because it wavers in pitch a bit. That's what happens if a record is pressed slightly off centre.
5:43 I remember when I saw this review as a teenager, I had no idea what "time of the month" meant. Like, I knew what periods were since I was a kid, but I didn't know "time of the month" was a term for them.
True, poor Malcolm. But he should never have brought a Nick show that only moved to Disney after they agreed to produce the only movie they made up. EsPECIALLY when Doug was tortured from age 9 into possibly high school for having the first name Doug. Then said the magic word that brought back the theme song that will never leave, never leave and never leave to his head.
I think a good Nostalgia Critic video to react to is his review of Signs (2002)! I remember one or two of you guys saying you like that movie, so i'm curious what you would think of Doug's review.
Hey guys why not react to some more One Minute Melee? If I had to recommend some good ones: DIO vs Sakuya Izayoi Sanji vs Rock Lee Cell vs Meruem Saitama vs Superman Joseph Joestar vs Edward Elric (though that one really is only golden if you truly know the two shows)
The whole tapping into the fictional universe thing reminds me of a fantasy series where the way the author says she's told what happened in the books by the characters and said author is just transcribing into book form what the characters tell her.
I actually tried to play the game with the critic, but used sips of water instead of shots of whiskey. Took a shot for all the king tropes, as well as the flashbacks and hearing the word "float". Took 24 shots.
The problem with some of the movies is that they cut out so much of the book. There are details in the books that are left out or ignored when it comes to when they start writing the script
Renegades you once again made my day your reactions and dialog are amazing. P.S if you ever start to play a modded fallout 4 lets play you need to get Maxwell's world it's a quest full of fun.
13:00 If Doug actually paid attention to this scene, he’d know Pennywise turned off the cold water and turned the hot water up all the way, so… yeah, if Eddie makes one wrong move, he gets burned.
I think its funny that its not even the clown who comes up with floating. It was the boy with the paperboat. Yet the rest of the movie he always talks about floating. Pennywise is just like "hey that actually sounds good. Let me steal that line"

I'm loving the NC reviews, I know you've got the rest of the NC's Commercial series to do before the new instalment arrives on Tuesday but I have to reccomend you watch Doug's Pearl Harbor review as it features one of mostly the NC but still Doug's angriest rants about a movie to date.

+Silent Jack M.D Agreed, both the book and the 2017 movie is better.
Doug clearly doesn’t read the book and just makes manipulative statements because he is a sell out.
With that in mind, I guess the ending to this story will always be disappointing, but at least it’s better than that adaptation of The Langoliers.
