Just learned of the passing of the amazing guitar player Bernie Marsden. One of my all time favourite Whitesnake songs wouldn't be possible without his riffs/solos. Love and condolences from 🇧🇷! 🤘💔
Oh Man David is just killing it on this!! He had all the tools in his prime. He could sing the blues, amazing power, plenty of soul and let's not forget those awesome high notes.
I agree with everything you say about his excellent lead singer skills and boy did he get the pretty women.( but he always fell out with them lol) 😎☮️👍🎸🏴🇺🇲🤩🏴😁🇦🇺
Аз също! Разпознавам гласа му от хиляди километри. Толкова безсънни нощи с гръб към стената пракарахме с теб приятелю,, свирача който толкова години ме води
This song, for me, is the best song Whitesnake ever made, the real Whitesnake...the pulsating rhythms of the drums and bass, the sweeping organ waves, the delicious guitars, DC's stellar vocals...just a perfect song for all eternity. The song builds up and stronger...and when the guitar solo begins, it fucking kills my heart, it's so damn sweet...
I remember seeing an interview a while back where David Coverdale described Steve Vai as the first "guitar hero" he'd worked with. What a shame that he didn't hold Bernie Marsden in the same regard.
@@MrSvante88 💯% My friend. Seeing The Late Great Bernie Marsden doing his stuff is awesome. I have just stumbled on this Video again and it`s still as good 👍👍
Friend of mine was the one who organized Whitesnake concert first time ever in my native Saint Petersburg, Russia. Festival name was White Nights!! And after we partying hard on yacht across Finish bay!! David was true gentlemen and Snakes!! Such a great Memories!! Cheers
The pulsating rhythms of the bass & drums on this song are just unbeatable. There's not much in terms of how many hits there are per minute, but the exciting and life-affirming patterns themselves, the strong touch and the beating sounds...driven hard with the guitar riffs...just masterful! Coverdale's singing at its best ever, plus the heart shattering solo... This is the greatest Whitesnake song of all time. This song strikes me so deep that I can't even write it down here...
Bernie Marsden wrote in his memoir that his solo was the first take actually. He was just „noodling around“ (quote), and after that first take, producer Martin Birch said that that was perfect for the song. Marsden believed he could do better and did several solos for half an hour. Eventually he agreed that the first take was the most fitting version and it was used for the final mix.
I was 15 when I first heard this song and was crazy about it; Paice beat, Moody's & Marsden guitars, Coverdale's power vocal, Murray & Lord in the background. I am 55 now and I feel young listening to it again 😂. I have listened to this at least 6 times this past 1 week. Great music don't die.
I don't really think you could ever put John Lord "in the background". The maestro of Purple, the Wizard of Hammond, and a mentor and a mate to Coverdale. Just listen to 'Child in Time', and you'll hear what I mean.
White Snake Love hunter got me addicted to White Snake. Come and get it solidified that addiction. Apparently Coverdale hatted them doing this kind of music.
This song has it all 0:02 hammond intro with bass drum on quarter beat. 0:09 electric guitar riff 0:15 Coverdale 0:46 chorus starting with Gm chord 1:00 bridge with Bb chord and some chick vocals 1:08 repeat intro with electric guitar plus chorus 1:23 Coverdale 2:28 80's melodic gtr solo. 3:30 fade out
Si Si...But let´s not mix up Deep Purple and Whitesnake, Okay??? In what Deep Purple song has this kind of a beat first of all? Anyways...Keep On Rocking folks!
@@jarisaarenpaa9910 The same scene, different bands. Although Coverdale, Paicey and Johnny (Jon Lord) played together in 1982 till the Mark 2 reunion two years later (Jon played in Whitesnakes 1978 first album As you can see in their kickass interpretation of Beatles "Day tripper". Paicey joined them 3 years later i think?)
The greatest vocalist we have in the UK. Elvis Presley would agree. I have absolutely no doubt of this. From 1974 to his more than well earned retirement in 2022.
I'd probably agree, out of all big rock singers Coverdale has a certain timber in his voice that just makes it special. Mr Chris Rea has a nice one too though ; )
Reading Bernie's autobiography. Great writer - as well as musician and gentleman. Bought all their LPs as a kid in the early 80s after a mate got me into them. RIP Bowler.
gabriel guitarrista u make me jealous ive never seen em unlucky i was born 1998 and im only 19 never got chance but id kill to have chance even how they are now
I had the denim jacket with the patches. I had the posters on my bedroom wall. And of course I had all the albums including my favourite "Live in the Heart of the City". Whitesnake, Deep Purple, Rainbow, Mountain, Saxon, Motorhead, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath and more... My friends and I used to cycle into town to waste hours scouring through the secondhand record stores looking for that "next purchase". Those were the days!
David Coverdale en toda su plenitud con Whitesnake, para mi una de las mejores Bandas de Hard Rock. Se hace sentir la guitarra limpia de Bernie Marsden...
Still remember as today... 1985, Rio. Live, under the rain.

Totally agree, I saw Bernie in a small venue in Bristol in the early 90s , what a night that wa s and what guitarist.
God bless his soul and lay him down in peace ☮️
He was pretty much the eow of the guitar sound in the early (premium) 'Snake.

@Keri M One of the best rock songs of all time. Todays young people dont know about it.
This is fantastic
Saw Whitesnake at Donnington Wembly in the 1980's and still listening to Whitesnake in my 50's.
Classic Whitesnake. RIP Bernie Marsden - Whitesnake legend.
Bernie's solo is awesome and soulful. He will surely be missed. He and Jon Lord must be rocking in Heaven now.

David has power pipes…and holy smokes his tone is better than his power. The man is a 9.9. I like girls, but I’m in love with that voice

paice, lord, what else you can want?
KE mafia Bernie Marsden in my opinion was also a major player in this and also some other Whitesnake songs.
Yeah but I prefer Judas Priest "Breaking The Law"
Truer words have never been spoken! You've nailed it brother!
The Classic Lineup of White snake.
THE BEST ❤
Whitesnake at their original best, raw, melodic, bluesy rock, this my favourite song by them, strong and powerful!🤘🤘
🤟🤟🤟🌹✌️✌️✌️
@steveburbage1230 You took words out of my mind. Coverdale and his band at its very best.
This is the best version of Whitesnake; bluesy hard rock without the later cheesy hair metal pretensions.
Сколько лет этой композиции,а ,вроде, как вчера сняли!
Наверное,да!
✌️🙏
That solo by Bernie Marsden must be one of the greatest solos of all time!
This guitar solo. I mean. Wow.
Jon Lord( Rip) Ian Paice rhythm section is just the groove and core for the song…. Oh Bernie what a solo( RIP)
Can’t stop listening to this!
Let there be rock!
"I've been running on empty far too long."
Without doubt the best and most talented lineup. This and the other tracks on ‘Come an’ get it’ - pure heaven.

Those were the days, how I loved the 80's. This was an epic line up and Coverdale at the top of his game!

This Song is perfect. Masterpiece. Lyrics, Harmony, etc..

Amazing music my first love of music Whitesnake used to play that solo in a band RIP Bernie so talented and the best line up. COME AND GET IT 🎉❤
Never get Tired of listening to The Snake, saw them live a couple of times in the late 70s and early 80s and they were just fantastic 👍🎸
Nice, since I was born in the 80s I missed them then, but saw them in 04. It was great.

Came across this song listening to Hair Nation on Sirius XM radio. Can’t stop listening to it. Awesome
A wonderful, melodical line to conclude the solo with 2:50 That's making music in stead of just pointless showing off.
