Me. Whitesnake was always one of my favorite bands from the 80's. Great songs, coverdale still at it. I enjoyed the lineup before the current one but I can't remember the guitar player name. Rememberd Doug Aldrich.

This whole album is phenomenal.
Well, there's two versions. The original English version does not include the overdubs by Sykes. It has better versions of Guilty of love and Slow and easy.
Live ain't no stranger is a little better on the USA remix, featuring overdubs by Sykes.
Most of the guitar is Met Galley, by the way. Original solo by Micky Moody, don't know if John Sykes redid the solo, just an extra rhythm guitar here.

David here was not Just a simple great composer but also fascinating man.
the acoustic/clean riff portions are just mesmerizing for me. i remember first hearing it and those notes snagging me. it has such an emotion with me. and the synth at the beginning and end combined the the foggy atmosphere give this whole production a real air of mystery type of feeling. just a wonderful song altogether.

Slide it in was my first Whitesnake album ( cassette) many moons ago. As soon as I heard Jon’s intro to Gambler, boom, I was hooked!!
I start listening to it and quickly replay it as soon as the intro’s done at least half a dozen times, just love it. Same with his intro to Perfect Strangers, pure magic!!

Really liking the fact that this sounds far less polished and slick than their big 1987 hit "Whitesnake", which, while good for its time, sounds timid and irredeemably tied to 1987. This song, however, is powerful and could have fit neatly anywhere in the 80's. Coverdale is on fire here, and he knows it.

People forget he was deep purples singer. Watch him perform "mistreated" at Cal Jam 2. No doubt an epic performance, his talent can be compared against any of the best.
Seen them in noblesville Indiana a few years ago , they jammed, Tommy Aldridge was on drums . He did a hell of a solo.
Can't stand that word "underrated" how so? Whitesnake are definitely not underrated as a band, they had loads of smash hit songs..

Trying to relive the days with Deep Purple. Always line up changes. Free people to work on other projects. To each there own. I think the Moody Marsden original guitar section the best to me. It was a more blusey sound. Second would be Sykes..then Vandenberg. Thought I was going to say Vai...lol i think he is a tool like Bonamassa
