And I never tire of listening to their music. I often resort to Deep Purple's music in order to recharge my batteries. Their music will live forever.

I'm the same age as you. My favorite rock band. Love listening to "Machine Head" in 5.1 surround sound. I'm glad they stuck to a unique sound, closer to the classic lineup sound.
No I do not live in years gone by but I did have wonderful times back then. The music was, is like none other music played nowadays. @@IllusionSector Simon McBride, Irish guitarist. Been with them since 2022 since Morse left to care for his sick wife. Great guy, great player, plays the Blackmore stuff really well. Fits the band nicely although I still miss Blackmore’s energy and presence.
@@IllusionSector Yeah, Steve Morse absoutely is an awesome guitarist but hey, I’m an old school Blackmore guy so my mind was made up before Steve joined. I like some of his work, like on Purpendicular, but to me, DP without RB sounds like a cover band to me. That’s what I appreciate about Led Zeppelin. They had the common sense to stop when one of the core members “became unavailable”. So everything after DP MkII sounds off to me. Same with Van Halen after DLR, AC/DC after Bon Scott or Genesis after Peter Gabriel. I just hate change. It must be my OCD, I guess.
I just listened to the whole album today and HOLY SHIT I loved it. Some schmuck critic gave it a rating of 5/10 and said "They don't seem to realize it's not the 70s anymore." Yeah well modern day music doesn't exactly have much substance now does it? All the more reason why we need the old stuff to make a comeback. Deep Purple rocks!!! 🤘😝🤘
Critics are almost always wrong and never in step with what most people think. Bands who the critics usually savaged were some of the best Bands ever. Purple, Black Sabbath, Ted Nugent, AC/DC all the while , they would cream their pants over over rated artists, like Bruce Springsteen(I've Never understood the appeal), Lou Reed, All of the Punk Rock shit, ect.... I ignore them. Have for decades.
F*** what other people think about the music you love. I ll go see Deep Purple, even if I m the only one at the concert - and I d still have a hell of a blast :)
I just don't feel the energy here he SOUNDS like a lazy sod. They all do. I'll listen to the album and give it a chance but to me no Blackmore and no Glover equals no Deep Purple.
I became a fan of Deep Purple when was at the age of 12. Now I am 46 and listening mostly Architects, Spiritbox or MiW metalcore stuff, but I still get chills from this unique Purple sound. One of the greatest bands ever, still making great music!
I grew up with late 60's/early 70's Deep Purple. So awesome to hear them again. And Ian Gillan, Ian Paice and Roger Glover still with them. LONG LIVE PURPLE!
Same here, although I'm a few years older. I discovered Purple in the early 90ies through some friends and couldn't believe how lucky I was to see them live in '93 (one of the last shows with the class Mark 2 lineup). They were considered "rock dinosaurs" back then. Who would have known that they are alive and kicking in 2024?. They still sound very good, although the new songs are not as memorable for me, but they haven't been since Jon Lord left the band, over 20 years ago now. Notable exception: Nothing at all, I love this song.
they are old, to be fair. Some would call this new sound elevator music but hey, they can still rock and roll. I'll take it. And they are damn good live still
Same here. When I was a kid listening to Metallica and Megadeth visiting my dad one time. I decided to look through his vinyl collection... I stumbled upon Deep purple In rock, Machine head and Burn. I was like, what is this? It says Machine head on the cover... I know a band called Machine head... so I put it on... And I was not disappointed haha! Highway star, Child in time, Burn, and I was also blown away by the instrumental on Burn "'A' 200" which kind of reminded me of video game music I had heard. So that's when dots to Nobuo Uematsu started to materialise. It was a trip haha!
My 72 year old mom now needs to use a wheelchair when we go outside. Even a short walk to the bathroom requires logistical planning. The fact that these guys are healthy is something to be celebrated, let alone the fact that they still rock!
This brought tears to my eyes. Deep Purple was my father's favorite band and, thanks to him, mine as well... He passed away last XMas and now i can't share this with him.
Rock on brother, Mike from states 67yo. Gonna see them in August at Ft Lauderdale ...love the guitar tone he gets, and paice is legendary drummer ..I still play the Jesus Christ Superstar album just to hear Gillan s vocals on that project .
This is what I call pure rock. So tasteful. Thank god for bands like DP who is the perfect antidote to the modern rock scene that is lacking great melodic structure and creativity. This brings me back to their MK2 era. The first 3 songs from the new album are very promising 👌
At the age of 20, my father was beginning to see the release of his hits. Today, at 70 years old, he continues to see new releases. It's a beautiful madness
The guys still sound great, but you can't dismiss the nearly 30 years Steve Morse spent working and playing with them. He didn't just play guitar, but also wrote and/or co-wrote many of the tracks from that era, some of which were among the most "Purple" I've ever heard! Purpendicular and Bananas were both stellar albums, as was Rapture Of The Deep. If you get the chance, check out the "Live At Montreux" (with an orchestra) dvd... it's absolutely chock full of epic stuff!
@@That70sGuitarist Nobody is asking you to dismiss what Steve Morse did, or what Ritchie Blackmore did before him. Just accept that it's a new era, with Simon McBride. Enjoy it...or not. Your choice.
@@CB-xr1eg Is English not your first language? I have to ask, because it seems as though you completely misunderstood what I wrote. Maybe you should go back and try reading it again, or have someone explain the parts you're just not getting. I never said anyone was "asking me to dismiss" anything, nor did I say anything whatsoever about their new guitarist. I merely pointed out the fact that Deep Purple put out some of their best albums ever during the nearly 30 years that Steve Morse was their guitarist. I even recommended some of those albums to you, in case they had somehow "escaped your notice." If there was any "dismissing" going on, it was you blithely dismissing Morse's incredibly productive tenure with Deep Purple. The truth is, he was by far *the* longest serving guitarist they've ever had, as well as one of their most prolific! Be sure to let me know if you have any trouble comprehending any of *this* comment. If so, I'll try to remember to "dumb down" any future comments, just for your benefit.
@@That70sGuitarist In the first line of your comment you said, " but you can't dismiss the nearly 30 years Steve Morse spent working and playing with them.", to which I replied, " Nobody is asking you to dismiss what Steve Morse did,". Why are you having trouble with that? You made that statement as though somebody actually was dismissing Steve and his work, but they weren't. Hence my reply. How you came to the conclusion that I was blithely dismissing" his tenure is quite baffling. I didn't say that and I didn't imply it. I appreciate what he's done with/for Deep Purple. I don't happen to like all of what he's done but that's just personal taste. You have to accept that not all of us are Stevie fanboys like you. My opinion is that Simon McBride is a far better fit for this band than Steve ever was. I'm sure you'll disagree but hey ho. As for me misunderstanding, I have the feeling it's you who has misunderstood, maybe deliberately who knows? Anyway, I hope you feel better after your needless little rant. Toodle pip.
The old men can still do it! The machine is well oiled and runs smoothly. Great new song with a lot of old Purple feeling. I wish the boys many more good years. Keep on rockin'.🎸🎙😎🎶💯🤟

I still listen to Deep Purple from the 70s. I’m going to their concert in Belgium in October. They are the very best, the best. May God grant them long life and health.
I came here expecting little and ready for compromise but what I got was an awesome classic Deep Purple song, one of the best rock songs I've heard in years! I'm so happy and so proud of them!
Savage Amusement.
I really like this new song, it sounds like the classic purple. I am 37 years old, from Lima, Perú. I listen Deep Purple since i was a child, thanks to my father who was a big fan of deep purple. I have seen DP 3 times, in my country in 2008, and in Chile and Colombia in 2023, and this year i will travel again to Chile in order to see these monsters in september. Longlive to the best hard rock band ever!
I agree, it saounds like classic Deep Purple. I was in Lima for a few months in 1990, 1992 and 1993. We listened to a lot of Deep Purple among others back then. I had the experience of listening to the very first Deep Purple. I was one month from being born, I would hear only through the skin of my mother's belly. Close nearby a loud English band played at "Parkskolen" school.. Announced as "The Roundabouts", as they entered stage they announced they'd just decided upon changing their name to... Deep Purple. They played very loud. There's no chance I wouldn't have heard them.
Deep Purple was the first rock and roll band I saw in concert. The wonder was March 8, 1974 at the Capital Center in Largo, Maryland. What a wild event.
@@ErkkiSutela I bought my first electric guitar at 14 years old in 1970 after hearing and subsequently buying Deep Purple in Rock. I still have my very first guitar it was a cheap Jedson Telecaster copy which I got mail order out of the Melody Maker from Sound City Music in Shaftsbury Avenue at a cost of £19.99 including a little practise amp, a pick a strap and a set of tuning pipes.. All these years later I'm still playing Ritchie Blackmore riffs all be it on rather more expensive guitars these days.🤘🤘🤘🤘
This is still Deep Purple, with their own, unique way of presenting voice & sound! Love them. Hope that everything will be fine with wife of Steve Morse, and he will come back soon.

And they are damn good live still
When I stared to listen to DeepPurple it was 1993 and everyone around me considered them an old band. I am 45 now.
@@dmytroklokol4030 I hear ya. They never faded away, imo. What's sad is most people today probably never heard of them

Yeah, the "new" guys fit like a glove! Classic Purple sound
this sounds fresh and the best deep purple since the 70s in my opinion. Ian sounds great at 78 years old!
Круто! Как zz-top
I even recommended some of those albums to you, in case they had somehow "escaped your notice."
If there was any "dismissing" going on, it was you blithely dismissing Morse's incredibly productive tenure with Deep Purple.
Toodle pip.
